Chapter 61
Waiting until Jude’s knot faded was agonizingly slow. Kai wanted Sonnet, and he wanted her now. All he could do was kiss the sides of her face, play with her damp hair, whisper things in her ear, and wait.
Jude should have gone last.
An omega chooses the order that feels right for her.
Whatever.
His alpha was right, of course, but that didn’t make the minutes of waiting easier. It felt like Kai had been waiting for Sonnet his entire life, and he would wait even longer if she asked him to. That didn’t mean he wanted her to, though.
When Jude finally pulled out, Kai tilted Sonnet’s face towards him, searching her eyes for any sign that she hadn’t accepted him completely. Any hesitation, and he would step away, even if it tortured him to do so. But Sonnet only looked at Kai with complete adoration and love.
Love. She loves me.
“I hope you’re ready for me,” Kai teased, nipping her earlobe playfully before he positioned his body over hers. But he didn’t rush anything.
Kai sucked at her nipples, teased her wet folds, anything and everything to hear the noises she was making. She tangled her fingers into his hair and pulled them.
Kai chuckled. “Tell me what you want, baby.”
He knew she barely had enough words to form a sentence, but he didn’t want perfection. He wanted her to beg. He wanted to be wanted by her.
Needed.
Sonnet whimpered, her legs widening. “You.”
“What do you want me to do?”
“Kai,” Zayden warned, but it was no use. Kai knew what he was doing.
He could see it. A flash of mischief and humor in Sonnet’s beautiful blue eyes.
She licked her bottom lip and purred. “Inside me.”
“Say please.”
“Now.”
Kai smirked. Her tone was firm, commanding, and desperate, and he obeyed.
He kissed her deeply as he slid inside her. She was so warm, so wet, so welcoming. Jude was right. Sonnet was their home. Who needed four walls when she existed?
“You feel so good, baby,” Kai groaned into her ear before nipping at her neck, leaving small marks. He couldn’t wait to mark her officially, to bond himself with her completely.
I’m yours. I’m yours. I’m yours.
“Kai.” She gasped, and he completely melted.
She was close, and as much as he wanted to tease her more, to push her over the edge completely, he had the rest of his life to do that. This moment wasn’t about fun. It was about commitment, about sealing himself to her, his mate, his perfect little firecracker omega.
“I’ve got you,” he whispered. “Let go, baby. I’ve got you.
They held on to each other and didn’t let go. When Kai knotted himself inside her, he swore he would never leave. This pack, his omega, was all he wanted.
