Chapter Ten
Grayson
“Come on, baby. Why not let her watch us, and…” Hope pleads as she practically clings to me.
“No, Hope,” I laugh. “You are literally asking me to make my new wife watch me fuck you. That’s ridiculous.”
“We’ve been together for years, and this is how things end?” she asks coldly.
“We aren’t together, Hope,” I sigh.
“You’ll come back to me when you find she can’t give you what you want. That’s why you always ended up with me every time you tried to play with others,” Hope says.
I laugh because it’s so damn comical that she thinks she means something to me. There is a commotion in the club, and I look over to see Adam rushing over.
“What’s wrong? Where is…” I start to ask, shoving Hope away from me to look at him.
“You are a fucking idiot, Grayson,” he snaps at me before looking at Hope. “And you are a desperate skank. Go bother someone else.”
“Where is Milly?” I ask again.
“Where the fuck do you think, Grayson? She left. Ran away when she saw her hanging all over you and you doing not a goddamn thing to stop her,” he scolds me.
“Fuck,” I hiss as I push past him to leave the club. When I get out on the sidewalk, I look around to see which direction she would have gone.
“Are you going to help me find her or…”
“Or what?” Adam shouts at me. “One fucking day and you fuck it up, Gray. I get you’re used to fucking around, but she is your fucking wife.”
“What was I supposed to do?” I yell at him. “I couldn’t just…”
“The moment you saw me, you shoved her away. You should have done that the moment she put her hands on you,” Adam says, still angry. It dawns on me that he’s attracted to her. Why else would he be this pissed?
“You like her,” I say.
“That’s what you are worried about right now?!” he screams at me. “Just go the fuck home, Grayson. I texted Alania already.”
“She is my wife…” I argue back, but he cuts me off.
“Yeah, and she deserves better than that,” he says as he shoves past me and walks down the sidewalk.
As I watch him walk away, I’m struggling to admit to myself that I did anything wrong. She could have just talked to me… but she shouldn’t have to. She shouldn’t have to doubt me. She shouldn’t feel like she has to run from me. I start walking after Adam, knowing he will lead me to her.
