49. Trevor
CHAPTER FORTY-NINE
TREVOR
I hear a knock on the front door and check my phone.
Mom, Maya, and Lainey are only in town until tomorrow morning, but they’re about thirty minutes early for our brunch outing.
At the baby shower last night, all three essentially begged me and Willa to take them to the beach today.
I took the day off in anticipation of their visit, and Willa’s employees are handling the studio so we can show them around.
February in LA is a hell of a lot warmer than the freezing temps they’re used to in Nebraska.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Lainey shows up in shorts and flip-flops.
When I open the door, I’m steeling for a sarcastic comment from Maya. Instead, Robert and Jackeline Willis shift uncomfortably as they take me in. My jaw clenches tightly, and I’m having a hard time relaxing it.
“I didn’t realize you two were shacking up,” Jackie reproves.
“Can I help you?” I ask, crossing my arms as I lean against the doorframe. The attitude radiating from her sets off all my protective instincts. I’m not giving them access to Willa today.
“We wanted to speak with Willa. With both of you,” Rob says gently, a complete reversal from his wife.
“She’s in the shower now, and we’re heading out shortly…” My words are calculated and clipped. Over my dead body are they st ressing out the mother of my child after the joy she experienced last night from being surrounded by people who care about her.
“Maybe you could meet us for dinner, then?” Rob urges.
“Busy then too.”
“This is ridiculous, Trevor. We came to see our daughter, and that’s what we intend to do.” Jackie huffs.
“What’s ridiculous is you two showing up here with demands after months of silence.
No checking on her. No questions about the baby.
Did you even know she’s been on bed rest?
” That makes the scowl fall from Jackie’s face, and Rob’s intake of air gives me my answer.
How shameful . “Didn’t think so,” I say, biting back the string of profanity I want to unleash on them.
What kind of fucking parents treat their child this way ?
“Willa’s busy today. I can tell her you two came by.
If she wants to talk to you, she’ll reach out. ”
“What about breakfast in the morning?” Rob offers.
“That’s entirely up to Willa. If she says no, the answer is no.”
I turn to go back inside, ready to leave their nonsense and shock out here on the porch.
“Trevor.” Rob’s voice trembles, and I pause. “Is—are they okay? Willa and the baby? We heard it’s a girl.”
I blow out a breath of frustration. “They’re both fine now. Everyone’s happy and healthy.”
Rob nods quickly and looks down at the ground with a face full of remorse. “We’ll wait to hear from Willa about tomorrow. Come on, Jackie.” He tugs on her arm, and after a stubborn back and forth, she allows him to lead her down the sidewalk.
When I close the door, Willa meets me with a misty gaze. “Uh.” I rub the back of my head, scrunching my nose. “Your parents are in town…”
“Yeah, I heard.”
“How long have you been standing there?”
“Long enough to watch you enforce some boundaries.” She closes the gap between us. “No one’s ever done that for me before you. ”
“Done what?”
“Cared…” Her hands smooth over my chest until soft fingers frame my face.
“Pretty fucking sexy, if you ask me.” She pulls me into a mind-numbing kiss.
I clutch her waist and let her guide the pace.
Between my aggravation at the exchange on the porch and her sudden desire, we’re melding into a pit of passion that has me considering undoing the shower she just took.
Her libido has been sky high the last few weeks, and we haven’t had our daily romp yet this morning. “Bend me over the couch,” she pants.
“We don’t have time.” I groan, diving back into her lips.
Tugging me with her, we stumble into the living room. “We can make time. That’s what quickies are for.”
She grabs the back of the sofa and bends at the waist, sticking out her ass with an enticing wiggle.
All logic : gone . My hand is under her dress, fingers gliding through her soaking slit so fast, I don’t have time to think through unbuttoning my pants.
I sink two fingers inside her right when someone knocks on the door.
Willa stills in my arms, giggling at the growl rumbling through my chest. If it’s her goddamn parents cockblocking me right now, I’ll fucking lose it .
There’s another knock, and I painstakingly slip out of her with a groan.
She turns to face me with a smirk. “We should probably answer it, yeah?” I say, diving in for another kiss.
She smiles against my mouth, nodding. “I can hear Lainey talking a mile a minute through the door.”
“Good. She can keep them entertained while I take care of something.” I nibble her neck, her little giggle-moan hitting me straight in the dick.
They’ll be fine outside for a minute . She gasps when I grip her thighs, lifting her onto the back of the couch.
She braces her hands on the sofa as I spread her legs wide.
“Just a little taste,” I mumble, preparing to drop to my knees.
Willa stops me with a hand on my chest, and I whimper shamelessly. “ Please …”
“Ew!” Maya yells. “If you can hear us, we can hear you, dummy!” The doorbell rings, but I’m too keyed up right now to care.
Willa’s eyes twinkle with amusement. “ One taste,” she whispers.
Gripping my wrist, she guides a finger through her arousal.
A needy moan leaves her lips when I brush her clit, and she lets me linger there.
“Mmm, you be my good boy today…” She brings my finger to my lips.
My tongue darts out for a taste, and the sinful way she stares as I savor her essence has me bricked up.
“…And I’ll be your good girl tonight.” She leans in, ghosting my lips. “ All night long .”
Fuck me . I groan as a shiver rolls down my body. I’ll be thinking about her dirty little mouth the entire time we’re out today, just like she planned. She smirks, moving off the couch, and I head straight down the hallway.
“Where are you going?” She laughs. I don’t know why she’s acting like I’m not busting through my jeans right now.
“You can’t tease me like that and expect me to open the door to my family.”
“Again, ew !” Maya calls from outside.
Willa cackles, and I shake my head, calling over my shoulder, “I gotta go calm the fuck down. Gimme a minute.”
After a full day of food and sights, and more pink onesies than I think is possible for a baby to wear in their infancy, we’re strolling along the beach.
Maya pulls me back, the cool breeze ruffling her curls as Willa, Mom, and Lainey walk ahead.
I smile, just watching them huddle together for warmth.
The sense of completeness at seeing my lady get along so well with my family strikes me out of nowhere.
This feeling is undeniable, accompanied by thoughts of Willa walking toward me in a white dress.
Shit . Back up . We’re not even close to talking about that…
Maya’s smile quirks her lips, a knowing look sparkling in her eyes .
“Are you gonna say it, or just keep staring with that stupid smile on your face?” I ask.
“Trevor’s in love …” she teases in a sing-song tone. Even though it’s true, my cheeks heat. Another look at me and she’s laughing like it’s the most hilarious thing to witness.
“You having fun, My?” I chuckle, kicking a shell in the sand as we follow their footsteps.
“It’s cute, T!” Her face falls with a grimace, and she bumps into me. “Except for this morning…ew.”
“How ?bout you stop bringing it up, huh?” We share a laugh, and she hooks her arm around mine.
“We’ve never seen you like this. Even with Marla, it wasn’t like this.”
“Yeah, well, Marla didn’t make me feel like this so…”
“So…love? You love Willa?”
I look up, and Willa quickly glances over her shoulder before the three of them giggle about something else. It’s likely at my expense, but I light up inside. “Wholeheartedly. She’s everything.”
“Good. I like seeing you happy. And at this point, I think you’d be voted off the island if you got rid of her.”
“I don’t doubt that.” I bump her shoulder playfully, and she pushes back like she’s trying to knock me off course. “You know I’m not above throwing you in the ocean, right?”
“Then you’d definitely be voted off the island, seeing as I ’ m the favorite.” She sticks out her tongue in a taunt.
“Favorite pain in the ass, maybe. Who’s the one Mom’s always begging to come home though?”
“Oh yeah? Watch this…” She puts a hand to her mouth. “Mom, T just pushed me,” she calls.
“Trevor Anthony, you better not.”
“She pushed me first!” I defend myself, somehow transported back to childhood. Maya jogs to catch up with them.
“You’re twice her size. We’ll vote you off the island, Trevor.”
“What is this island?” I ask.
“It’s from a show,” all four of the women in my life shout back at me. Laughing, I quicken my steps to catch up to them, feeling that light inside me glowing brighter by the second.
Once we get back to the house and say our goodbyes, Willa pulls out her phone. “I think I’m going to meet up with my parents tomorrow,” she says.
“You sure?”
“Yeah. I had a talk with your mom today, and she told me laying out my ground rules with them now, before the baby comes, was something she wished she did with her parents. I think she’s right.”
My grandparents were definitely the steamrolling type, so Mom’s advice makes complete sense to me. “Whatever you want to do, that’s what you should do, Gem.”
“Yeah…but could you maybe come with me?” She bites her lip, and even though she’s holding her phone, she still manages to strangle her fingers.
I slip my hand between hers and pull her toward me, right into a kiss. “Of course, sweetheart. I’ll go with you anywhere.”
She presses another quick kiss to my lips, takes a deep breath, and scrolls through her phone while walking toward the bedroom.
I watch her, feeling like the luckiest bastard on the Pacific coast to have landed her.
Stopping at the door, she gives me a sultry look.
“Don’t think I forgot about being your good girl tonight…
” The hooded look in her eyes and the bite of her lip spring my dick into action.
I don’t know why she keeps leaving me in the entryway with a hard-on, but this better be the quickest damn phone call of her life.
