26. Zeke

Zeke

She looks like shit. Her skin is pale, and her eyes don’t hold any sparkle. Not like they did the night I met her.

“I’m not going anywhere, and I don’t need to be taken care of like a child. It’s just a stomach bug.” Her words hold such conviction, but she’s fucking crazy if she thinks we’re leaving her here.

“No! You have two choices. Pick one!” Eli holds strong, not leaving any room for argument.

Jay and I both nod in agreement. No fucking way in hell are we leaving her the way she looks right now. Her fucking boyfriend should be here with her and not on a stupid vacation. That could’ve waited until she was better and could join him.

Wait…No. Scratch that. She doesn’t need to go with him anywhere. Selena just needs to be with us.

“Last time I checked I was a grown ass woman. I’m not going anywhere.

And you’re most definitely not staying here.

In fact, I think it’s time for all three of you to go.

So either do it willingly, or I’ll call the police and let them know you’re harassing me.

” Her voice rises, and she goes to stand, but I catch her when she gets dizzy and has to grip the arm of the couch.

“That’s a little extreme, don’t you think?” Jay asks her. “We’re just concerned about you. If you haven’t noticed, you can’t even stand up without getting dizzy. What if you were to fall when you're alone?”

She sighs, and I see the tremble in her hands. “I’ve told you I’m fine. Just a stomach bug and you’re acting as if I’m an invalid. You made these bold proclamations this last week about wanting to start fresh. So why not do that, and just do as I ask?”

Fuck, this is not how I planned this to go. We were hoping this would be a good time to approach her as a unit. What we didn’t expect was to find her in this bad of shape.

What the hell do we do? If we don’t do what she asks, we may risk any chance with her. But if we leave her here and something happens, we’d hate ourselves.

“Selena, please be reasonable. Let one of us stay here with you. Just to make sure you’re okay,” I plead.

She sits there, just staring at me, almost as if she can see into my soul. And I’m confident she’s beginning to see reason when she turns her body toward me and smiles.

“No.”

I groan in frustration. That was not the answer I was expecting. I need to breathe. Standing up from the couch, I head to the kitchen. Eli placed the bags of food on the table when she took off down the hallway. If she’s not coming home with us, she’s at least going to eat.

Going over to the cabinet, I search for a bowl, then pull open drawers until I find the one with silverware. I open the bag and take out a container of chicken broth and pour a small amount into the bowl, replace the lid, and put the leftovers in her refrigerator.

Warming up the soup for a couple of minutes, I use the time to calm down.

I don’t need to let my anger get the best of me.

While it may not seem like it, of the three of us, I have the shortest temper when I feel like I don’t have control.

And right now, I definitely don’t. Selena has all the power.

I’m just pulling the bowl out of the microwave when Eli steps into the kitchen. Things have not improved with Selena if I have to go by the grim look on his face.

“We need to go home. We’ll come back tomorrow and check on her. We work tomorrow night. So we can see her in the morning and again before we go on shift. If we push her too hard right now, she’s going to shut us out,” Eli speaks softly.

“No fucking way, Eli. She looks like death, and we’re just going to walk out of here and leave her alone? You saw how dizzy she got. What if something happens?” I try not to let my anger raise my voice, but it’s hard.

“Zeke, she’ll be fine for one night. We’ll give her two days and if she’s not feeling better, we’re dragging her ass to the doctor, then home with us. When that worthless boyfriend of hers gets back, I’m having a word with him,” Eli spews with venom.

“You’ll have to get in line. Let’s take the broth to her. I need to see if I can at least get her to try and eat. Can you get her the Ginger Ale?”

I pick up the bowl with a dishtowel, wanting to make sure Selena doesn’t burn her hands.

When I step back into the room, Jay is sitting so close that his body grazes against her.

Seeing him with her, there’s not an ounce of jealousy.

Not like when I saw her with Sam. She was made to be with us.

She’s our soulmate and I’m going to fight for her, just like I know my brothers will.

Dad’s just going to have to accept it. He wants his happiness, and we want ours. And it’s Selena.

“We need you to eat a little of this soup, then we’ll go. But we’re going to be checking in on you tomorrow.” I give her a pointed look as I hand the bowl to her.

“Whatever,” she finally relents, taking the soup from my hand.

“Be careful, it’s hot,” I remind her, not wanting her to burn herself.

She takes her time, eating small spoonfuls as we watch her like a hawk. So far, so good; she seems to be taking the food okay. I didn’t put a lot in her bowl. With how much she said she’d been throwing up, I didn’t want to shock her stomach.

“I can’t eat anymore.” She sets the bowl on the table, and I’m happy to see she’s eaten at least half of what I put in it.

“Good. There’s more in your refrigerator if you get hungry later. You should have enough for today. One of us will be back tomorrow to bring you some more.”

“Fine. I've eaten and I’m really tired now. Can you please go?” “We’re going. But if you need us, call,” I tell her.

She rolls her eyes, but I don’t care. We each tell her goodbye and leave. Once we are back in our truck, we all start talking over each other, angry at the situation.

For the rest of the night, all I could think about was Selena alone in her apartment. What if she gets dizzy and falls, hits her head on something, and bleeds to death. All I can think about is the worst case scenario.

I messaged her until I went to bed. Some she answered right away, others took longer. Her responses were short, but she still texted back, and that was the most important thing. It was another step in the right direction. That or she’s so deliriously sick she didn’t realize she was messaging back.

We didn’t want to overwhelm her, so last night was my night to text. Today is Jay’s. Then tomorrow will be Eli’s.

Hopefully, we can get close to her and break down that barrier she’s built up to keep us out.

We have a shift tonight, so one of us will take her some food this morning, and then all three of us will drop by before we head to the fire station.

If she’s not looking better by tomorrow morning, she’s in for a rude awakening, as her ass is coming home with us. I’d gladly sleep on the couch and give her my bed. I’d rather be cuddled up next to her with my arms wrapped around her, but I can be patient.

It’s been months, but I still remember how amazing she felt that night. I fall back on the bed as I slip my hand underneath the band of my pajama pants and grip my already hardened shaft.

I give it a firm squeeze before stroking up and down.

Memories from that night flow through my head. How she smelled of cherry blossoms. How she would let out that little gasp when my fingers slid across her soft belly. The way her nipples pebbled when I flicked them with my tongue, blowing my warm breath across them.

My strokes become faster as my thoughts run rampant.

She was so wet that night, so responsive to my every touch. She knew what she wanted and took it. Her confidence was such a fucking turn-on.

Her pussy was perfect. It was made for my cock, fitting it like a glove.

I can still see the way her heavy breasts bounced as she rode my cock. The way she cried out when she orgasmed, squeezing her legs tightly against my hips.

It’s all I need to send me over the edge as I let out a mix between a groan and a grunt, my cum shooting from my cock.

I need her. No, that’s not right. It’s more like I crave her. She’s an addiction I’ll never grow tired of. With Selena, I see a future not only for me but also with my brothers. There’s nothing I want more than to see her grow round with our children as we build a family together.

There are just a couple of things in the way.

Sam and our parents. More specifically, her fucking mother.

We need to find a way to get rid of Sam and convince our parents that it’s okay for us to not only share the same woman, but that it’s not weird that she’s our stepsister.

One thing’s for sure, we’re not going to keep letting Julia talk to her the way she has been. It’s unacceptable.

We need to call Dad so we can have a private conversation with him about Julia. I just don’t understand why he’s changed. This person he’s becoming is not the man he is, the one we’ve known our entire lives.

Sitting up, I pull my shirt over my head and clean the cum from my hands before standing and going to my ensuite bathroom to shower.

Thirty minutes later, I head out of my room to check on my brothers. I wonder if they’re also flooded with memories and craving more of our woman.

Eli’s in the kitchen, sitting at the table, staring intently at his phone, with a cup of coffee in hand. But Jay’s nowhere to be found. Odd. When I walked by his room the door was open and he wasn’t in there.

“Where’s Jay?”

“He went to get some food for Selena and check on her. He’s going to try to see if she’ll let him spend some time there today before having to go to work.”

“What are you doing?” I ask as I make a cup of coffee and join him at the table.

“I’ve been checking out Selena’s social media, but they're all private. I wanted to find out what she’s like. Do you think it’s weird if I request to be her friend?” I laugh because I wish I would’ve thought of that myself.

“No, I think I will too. It’ll also be a good way to learn about her piece of shit boyfriend.”

“He’s going to be her ex-boyfriend if I have anything to do with it. Why would he go on a vacation without her, Zeke? It makes no sense to me.”

“I don’t know. But I’m fully with you on him becoming her ex. We need to decide when we want to talk to Dad. He needs to answer some questions, and we need to make sure he’s aware of how we feel about Selena and our intentions.”

I lift the cup to my lips, blowing on the hot liquid before taking a sip.

“No better time than the present. I’ll message him now.” Sure Eli has his phone out, but he’s too focused on Selena’s social media. I pull my phone out of my back pocket and bring the screen to life.

Me: Hey Dad, what are you doing?

Dad: Going to play some tennis with Julia, then look at some homes.

Me: She’s really going to sell the house, instead of leaving it to Selena? Or giving her a chance to buy it?

Dad: It’s Julia’s house to do with as she pleases. Selena has not been exactly the best daughter to her. Maybe you boys can spend some time with her and your attitude will rub off on her.

Is he for fucking real!? Selena hasn’t been a good daughter? How about Julia’s a shit mother.

Me: Yeah we can spend time with her. But the guys and I want to meet with you, maybe for lunch.

Dad: Sure. Let’s do it this Saturday. We can go for brunch then play a round of golf.

Me: Sounds good.

“Dad can fit us in on Saturday. Brunch and golf. Just a few more days,” I tell Eli, who nods, still focused on his phone.

Dad is handled. He’s going to know the truth. Now we just need to win the heart of the woman taking over ours.
