Chapter 9 #2
There wasn’t a snowball chance in hell this baby belonged to Will.
Without a doubt, Niko was my baby daddy, and that was fucked up because if I kept this baby, Will would be his or her uncle.
Will was going to be pissed. He wouldn’t care that I found out he and Niko were brothers after the fact.
Fuck me. I truthfully didn’t care how Will would feel about the situation because fuck him.
He was bogus as fuck, he’d fucked my cousin without a concern for me.
I just didn’t want to deal with the drama that was to come from Will.
He was a petty ass nigga and liked to act like a bitch when he got in his feelings.
Surely this would send him into one of his bitch fits again.
“What nigga?” Zaylee asked with a frown on her lips.
“Fucking Will!” I replied. I was getting more and more aggravated the more I thought about the mess I’d gotten myself into.
“Why would he kill you?” Zaylee continued to pr for answers.
“Biiitch… I’m pregnant by his fucking brother. OH MY, this isn’t happening to me right now!” I started to freak out hearing myself say that shit out loud.
I hadn’t heard from Niko since he fucked me and ended things between us for his funky ass girl.
There was no telling how he was going to react to finding out I was pregnant.
Shit, for all I know he could try to deny this baby was his.
What if he told me to have an abortion? I felt so fucking stupid for being so reckless with Niko by letting him fuck me unprotected.
I’d been with Will for years, and never once had I had the reckless desire to let him fuck me raw or cum inside of me.
I was cool with being an aunty but I always said in the slim chance that I did pregnant I at least wanted to be married.
I always told myself I was only going to have kids by the nigga I married.
Now, here I was pregnant by my ex’s brother who I barely knew.
“Ya-” Zaylee started to say, but the soft cries coming from Solana made our attention turn to her. She had tears streaming down her face. “Boo, why are you crying?” Zaylee softly asked, rushing over to Solana, and I followed suit. We took seats on opposite sides of Solana.
“I’m preggnnaaannnttt,” she cried with her lips scrunched up. “I can’t be pregnant.” Solana continued to cry, heaving like she was forgetting to breathe.
“It’s okay, boo. You’re gonna be okay. We’re all in the same boat.” I tried to soothe Solana’s worries as I rubbed her back.
“Yeah, we all in the same boat, but at least our babies will grow up together,” Zaylee reasoned, wiping the tears from her cheeks, and I cut my eyes at her. Their babies might grow up together, but this baby in my stomach, I wasn’t sure if they were going to make it another month.
“But no, I can’t have this baby. No, no, me and Marlo got into it really bad earlier. He said he didn’t want to be with me because he didn’t trust bitches. He said we could be friends.” Solana cried, working herself up again as she explained herself.
“Well, fuck his ass then. You know you have Zaylee and me. We’ll help with the baby,” I said, and Zaylee nodded her head in agreement. I was good with being the fly auntie. I preferred that title over mama anyways.
“No, I’m not bringing another baby in this world to raise on my own,” Solana replied, defeated, but I felt what she was saying. I didn’t want to be a single mom either. That shit was for the birds.
“Maybe you should talk to Marlo and see where his head is, he might have just been mad. I don’t want you to make any rash decisions while you’re emotional,” Zaylee reasoned with Solana.
I knew my sister was thinking about her own situation in the past when she wanted an abortion, but things didn’t pan out that way.
She carried regrets from her first pregnancy.
“I can’t,” Solana adamantly replied, throwing her head over the back of the couch. “I’m not keeping this baby. I can’t even be that far along. Five or six weeks at most.”
“If that’s what you wanna do, you know we’re going to be here for you,” Zaylee sadly said, grabbing Solana’s hand, squeezing it in a comforting way.
This by far was the last thing I expected to come from this day. We knew Zaylee was pregnant, but to find out all three of us were pregnant was insane. I felt everything but happiness over the news.
I hated to say this, but I felt Solana on wanting to end her pregnancy.
Although our situations were different, it boiled down to the same thing: the potential of us being stuck raising a baby alone.
I doubted that would be the case for Solana.
Lo’ didn’t strike me as the type to not take care of his responsibilities.
At the same time, you couldn’t put anything past niggas these days.
They’d flip the script on you in a flash.
Solana was already taking care of her daughter, Sunshyne, alone.
Granted, she was a dope ass mom, nobody wanted to keep raising kids alone.
If there was a chance of Lo’ not wanting the baby Solana would be stuck with a baby she had to take care of on her own.
I didn’t even want to think about telling Niko about this baby.
I really wanted to save us both from a headache and just get rid of this baby.
I mean, what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him.
I’m sure Niko was busy living in his fantasy world with his little girlfriend.
What did I look like bringing a baby into this world with a nigga who had a girl?
A damn dummy. I had no business sleeping with Niko once I found out he had a girlfriend.
That was my mistake, however, I was going to rectify this situation.
Once I got this pregnancy taken care of, I was going to forget about Niko and the time we spent together.
It was time I came back to the real world and really focused on Yanna.
*************
A Few Weeks Later
My mind got the best of me, and I started thinking about the unprotected sex I had with Niko.
It hit me that I had no idea who else he was fucking.
If he easily fucked me without a condom, there had to be other bitches he did the same with, and not to mention his girlfriend.
I ended up making an appointment with my gynecologist to get tested for everything under the sun, and I promised God if my test came back negative, I would never be this reckless again.
I had been going to my gynecologist since I was a teenager.
Dr. Kami never steered me wrong. Leave it to her to talk me out of getting an abortion.
After she explained all the complications that could come from an abortion, Dr. Kami slickly let me hear my baby's heartbeat. She tried to play like it was an accident, but I knew better. I couldn’t even be mad because I had already come to the conclusion I was keeping my baby.
After I’d come to terms with being pregnant, I had to talk myself into talking to Niko.
It had been close to three months since we last talked, and I was nervous as hell about dialing his number.
I did everything in my power to put off telling Niko about my pregnancy, but once my mama found out she was finna be a grandma, she wanted to meet the man who got her daughter pregnant.
Camille wasn’t taking no for an answer either.
I’d just got my test results back on my chart, and everything was good.
I figured I might as well get this over with.
I scrolled through my phone until I got to Niko’s number.
I hesitated before I hit the call icon. My heart felt like a drum beating in my chest everytime the phone rang and he didn't answer. I started to hang up, then I heard Niko’s voice coming through the speaker.
“Hello?”
I had to pause, his voice still caused flutters in my stomach. “Hey,” I was finally able to get out.
“Whad up. How you been?” Niko asked me, and I was surprised he cared.
“Uh, I been okay,” I replied, trying to sound unaffected. I wasn’t sure where Niko was, but there was a bunch of noise in his background. “You sound busy.”
“Low key, I am. That’s why I almost missed yo’ call.”
“Umm, well I don’t want to hold you up. Can we meet up? I really need to talk to you.”
Niko let out a deep sigh that didn’t sit right with me. I already felt like I was begging him, and the way I was set up, I didn’t beg for shit.
“Ion know, Yanna. My life hectic as fuck right now. I really don’t know when I’ma have time to fuck with you.”
“I’m not asking you to fuck with me. I need to talk to you. In person. Face to face.”
“And I heard you, but I’m tellin’ you… how shit going… it won’t be no time soon.”
“So, you can’t find ten minutes to stop by my house to talk to me?” I smartly asked, losing my grip on my anger.
“Prolly not,” Niko coolly responded.
I ain’t gon’ lie, hearing Niko’s nonchalant demeanor towards me crushed my ego some.
Any connection or deeper feelings that I thought that we had wasn’t real.
The way he was handling me spoke volumes to the role I played in his life.
I’d be damned if I allowed him to treat me or my baby like we were second fiddle.
Fuck Niko. I was finna raise this baby alone.
“Bet,” I said, hanging up the phone.
I guess I was joining the single moms club.
