Chapter Six

Ricco Conchez stopped and stared at the women. He shook his head then closed his eyes and opened them again as if he wasn’t quite sure if they were real.

One was dressed in leather that looked sort of biker type. The other one was dressed in jeans and a short shirt.

John took out his phone and tapped a few buttons that turned the volume and security video sensors up. He stepped close to Leon. Now they could clearly hear the exchange between Ricco and the girls.

“Que Pasa? What the fuck are you two supposed to be?” Ricco shouted. “Does the big man protect his house with women and bats? I thought Leon Vincinti would have better security than this.”

Jelly Bean smiled. “Nah loser, we aren’t his security, we’re just his guests at the moment. I mean after all not everyone just jumps over his walls. Only someone who is retarded would do something as insane as that.”

Ricco scoffed. “I ain’t insane, chica. I’m on a mission.”

Rebel laughed. “Notice how he did not deny the retarded part?”

Jelly Bean laughed loudly to be annoying of course, everyone listening knew she never laughed like that normally.

“So you’re on a mission, eh?” Rebel snorted. “What kind of mission?”

“I’m here to kill Vincinti on behalf of the Gondo Cartel. I’m making my bones,” Ricco bragged.

Jelly Bean nodded. “Let me get this straight, Mr. Have-No Bones, you came over the man’s fence and are boldly walking up to his front door in broad fucking daylight to kill him? On behalf of a tiny dick-led cartel? Are you retarded and stupid too?”

Rebel chuckled. “Either that or he hasn’t heard what happened to this Dickless Cartel before he even got here.”

“What are you talking about?” Ricco growled.

“Well see, Mr. Wannabe-a-Retard, they had no dicks as far as anyone could tell,” Jelly Bean explained to him. “But no worries, Mr. Vincinti has already taken that pipsqueak cartel out.”

“No, he didn’t,” Ricco insisted. “They’re waiting to make their move. He couldn’t take them all out. Not even Vincinti is that powerful!”

Jelly Bean swung her bat around as if she was about to play softball and was testing her swing.

“Wow are you wrong about that, dumbass. First he took out Paulo and two of his sons then twenty-five men. Some more came around and Leon’s soldiers took them down too.

Trego was wounded and rather than make his stand with his own father, he ran away.

He found his uncles and more of his uncle’s men.

Then welp...he miscalculated on his getting saved odds... He died with them.”

“I don’t believe you, bitch!” Ricco snarled.

Rebel shrugged like it was no big deal. “How long you been in town?”

“Three or four days,” Ricco told her.

“And you didn’t hear the big explosion the other night?” Jelly Bean wanted to know.

“What about it?” Ricco asked.

Jelly Bean raised her fist and opened her fingers wide as she exclaimed, “The cartel went boom! Twenty-three people died in that explosion, according to the cops. They were too burned to identify the bodies. Then Silva and Ortega blew up a Vincinti safe house. But Leon’s men picked them up pretty easily.

So right now, they are in a cell in Leon’s basement. ”

Rebel nodded and added, “I believe...” She paused to look down at her wrist that apparently had an imaginary watch. “Yes, they are scheduled for torture at 2 pm.”

Ricco couldn’t seem to connect the dots in his own mind. He shook his head and said, “You chicas are loco. Our cartel is smarter than that.”

“Smart? I think not...but that’s just your opinion, Mr. Crackhead. But we know what happened because we watched it all.” Rebel now swung her bat a couple times.

“No, no, sis,” Jelly Bean interjected. “We didn’t just watch. We took out a dozen Dickless Cartel members all by ourselves, remember?”

“Yes, yes I do. Most fun I’ve had since I last played Fallout. Love that game.”

Jelly Bean’s smile dropped from her face as she looked back over at Ricco and said, “So now you’re going to learn a little about how your sister felt when you took a bat to her.” Raising her bat, she swiftly swung it at Ricco.

The bat connected with Ricco’s shoulder and he screamed as the hit shattered his shoulder.

“Only cobardes beat up women.” Rebel took the second at bat slam.

Ricco was breathless when the hit busted one of his ribs. He flew backward and landed on his back in the grass.

Rebel walked over and looked down at the now weeping man. “Just remember it was a woman who beat your sorry ass.” She took a third swing while using the bat like a golf club and broke his ankle.

Everyone heard the bones snapping.

Looking totally white in the face now, Ricco couldn’t even scream as he passed right the hell out.

Inside his office, Leon exclaimed, “Santos murciélagos!”

John snickered. “Those girls need to sign up for the local team.” He moved toward the door.

Leon laughed. “They are already signed to my team, son.”

John nodded in total agreement. He exited the house, walked across the lawn and came to stand next to the two women.

He paused to peer down at Ricco. “I think you two have done enough damage for one day.” He leaned down and began frisking Ricco.

He found a gun tucked into his back waistband and then he found a blade in Ricco’s pocket.

Before he straightened and stood, he checked Ricco’s neck for a pulse. When he found it, he motioned at the house.

Two of his men came out to carry the unconscious man inside.

Jelly Bean looked at Rebel and nodded. “One down, one to go.”

Rebel shook her head. “That was too easy, you know that right?”

Jelly Bean nodded. “Yeah, it was sort of a letdown. I know. But you gotta realize that only a fucked-up crackhead would do what he did and not worry about his own safety.”

“Maybe but we don’t know if Benzo is a user yet or not,” Rebel admitted.

“Well then, let’s go find the man and ask him nicely then.” Jelly Bean smiled. “And I know right where to find the man that might have answers.”

Rebel held her bat out like a sword and proclaimed, “To Oscar.”

Jelly Bean tapped her bat to Rebel’s like they were toasting with champagne glasses then they both walked toward the garage.

Leon expected them to come back inside. He asked John in a text if they had.

John replied with a no... they didn’t come back inside.

Leon looked out at the front yard again and bit at his lip. He would just have to wait to hear from them.
