Epilogue
Four years later…
Her beauty was striking. Her sex was damning. Her spirit was alluring. Her presence was addictive. I missed Summer more than she’d ever know. A week away was too much like torture.
“Uhhhhh.”
Her hips rolled, pulling me deeper into her canal. She was soaking. My thighs and pelvic area were drenched in her sentiments. She’s missed me just as much.
“Fuck.”
Four years inside of her and she was still the best thing I’d ever slid into. The wettest. The sweetest. The softest. The gentlest. The most memorable. The most treasured. The most prioritized. The most precious.
“Shit, baby– I’m ’bout to nut.”
“Yesssssss.”
I held Summer in place and plunged into her from below. She was dripping with gratitude. I was lost at sea and didn’t want to be found. I wanted to drown in her waters.
“Fuck.”
“Yessss. Yessssssss. Yesssss.”
“Urrrrrrgh shit.”
I unloaded inside of her. My minions took a swim as she pulled me ashore with her kisses. One by one, she planted them all over my face.
“Uh,” I groaned as she lifted from on top of me, removing my dick from her warmth.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too, baby. Don’t ever stay gone that long again. Ada ass gone have to come to Roosevelt. Tell her to spend a summer in Tribecca. She won’t regret it.”
“She’s coming. I’m trying to convince her to move here. She’d love it.”
“Yeah. It’s hard not to.”
“Ugh.”
Summer winced as she held her side.
“What’s the matter?”
“Your daughter. She’s resting on one side. It hurts.”
“She’s getting crowded in there,” I explained, placing a hand on Summer’s belly.
She was eight months pregnant and glowing. Her week away with Ada was spent shopping for Sade Elise, our bundle of joy.
Summer wanted some time alone and a few days with her friend before giving birth. It was likely she wouldn’t get any time to herself for a while. There would be a child attached to her breast in the next month or so.
Knock.
Knock.
“Y’all done in there or what?” Joshua’s voice rang out, reminding me we weren’t home.
Summer told me she was stopping by his place to drop off the gifts she’d purchased him while out of town. Desperate to be the first to see her, I beat her to his crib. Even more desperate to feel her, I took his spare bedroom before taking her down.
“Sorry!” Summer laughed.
“Not sorry,” I shouted. “We’ll be out when we’re out, my nigga.”
“What the fuck ever. I have to make a run. Lock up when you leave.”
“Aight.”
Shaking her head, Summer planted her face in the curve of my arm.
“Ugh. This dynamic is a mess.”
“It’s our mess,” I reminded her, pulling her up on my chest. “Have you eaten?”
She shook her head.
“I haven’t. Can you feed me?”
“I plan to. What do you have a taste for?”
“Ummm– actually, I was thinking you could cook.”
“I can do that.”
Summer was out of the bed in a flash. I couldn’t help but find her wobble hilarious. My baby was having my baby. I was still reeling from that and the rock on her hand that glistened even in the dark room.
We’d wedded a year after meeting. I wasted no time getting her down the aisle. Our wedding was small and only included fifteen guests. None of them was Joshua and Summer’s mother. She had officially been exiled.
Joshua was the only one who talked to her, but even he had boundaries.
Once a quarter was all she got out of him.
He cut communication with her just as she had with Summer.
All of us did. Aside from spousal support, my father did nothing for Angela.
He’d dug through her skeletons and found far more than he bargained for.
She didn’t get half of his money. And, he only paid spousal support out of the kindness of his heart.
His lawyer had disrupted all of my stepmother’s plans to collect.
She’d be leaving just as she came if it was left up to the attorney.
Being that she was Joshua’s mother and had taken care of Christian and I, he promised to pay her support unless she remarried.
“You’re going to hurt something getting up that fast.”
“Have you tasted your food?”
“I have.”
“Then you should understand.”
I rolled over, grabbing my things as well.
“You’re riding with me, Sums. We can come get your car later. Aight?”
“Yes.”
We redressed and headed to the place we knew almost as good as we knew each other. To our safehaven. To our sanctuary. I had every intention of showering before starting in the kitchen. Without a doubt, I knew exactly where Summer was headed.
Into the greenhouse we’d built together in our backyard. Windows were used to build every wall. The stars would find her tonight. And, when the food was ready, I’d find her too.
Relaxing.
Fantasizing.
Feet kicked up.
Lavender and honey tea next to her.
Nose stuffed between those pages as the women in the stories referenced her reality.
The end.
