Chapter 20
GAVIN
Iwatch Tyler grinning at Tivon from the passenger seat and think back to him telling me about what happened with Jason.
All I could do was shake my head, because I knew Tyler’s plan was to push all of Tivon’s buttons.
I just didn’t know he was going to bring Jason into this plan, but I have to admit it makes sense.
Besides Kira, Jason is the first one who connected with Tivon.
I know without a doubt that we can trust him, so I told Tyler to run with whatever he was going to do, and I guess he took it literally.
“Why the fuck are you staring at me?” Tivon barks. All that does is cause Tyler’s grin to widen.
“Something wrong?” Tyler asks innocently.
I can visibly see Tivon trying to rein in his temper, so I sit back in the seat to watch this go down. “You’ve been fucking with me since last night. Why?”
“I was just being honest, big guy. But I have a question for you.” Tyler leans over the console, propping his elbows on it with his chin in his hands. “Did you like what you saw?”
“Which part? Jason’s dick, or you sitting so prettily on your knees for him?” I choke on laughter when Tyler’s eyes widen in surprise, not expecting that response. “Would you suck my cock like that, Ahavah?”
“Well, damn,” I laugh when Tyler just blinks at Tivon. “You made him speechless again. That’s one for the record books.”
Tivon whips into an abandoned parking lot and shoves the SUV into park.
“He’ll be speechless when he’s gagging on my cock too.
” Tivon shoves out of the car before anyone can answer, sliding his new mask on.
I have to admit, it works for him, and I know it finally gave him a little bit of the piece he was missing to fit in.
We follow behind him, doing the same, and Tyler still hasn’t said a word. “Are you okay?” I ask, nudging his side.
“Huh? Oh yeah. I was just imagining gagging on Tivon’s cock. Speaking of, you never answered the rest of my question. You said it hung to the left, but was I right about the eight inches?”
“No,” Tivon answers, slinging the strap of the AK around his neck.
“Bigger? Dude, are you one of those guys walking around with a horse cock swinging between your legs?”
“Jesus fuck, Tyler,” I reply.
“I guess you’ll just have to find out one day,” Tivon responds.
He jerks his head for us to follow, and we melt into the shadows, making our way into this guy’s apartment.
Nolan said it was all clear, but we still don’t know what’s inside.
I know those guys probably had a check in time that they most definitely missed, which would put Abraham on high alert. “If you’re a good boy.”
I laugh under my breath when Tyler trips on thin air. “Comms check?”
“I’m here,” Nolan answers. “Apparently at the right time, too.”
“Hello, my adorable computer nerd.”
“Axel is going to kill you,” Nolan chuckles. “You’re lucky he isn’t here to listen. So, who’s going to be a good boy?”
“Tyler,” Tivon and I answer at the same time, making Nolan crack up.
“Is that possible for him?”
“Hmmmm,” Tivon hums, and it sends shivers down my spine. “We’re going to find out.”
“I bet if anyone can make Tyler heel and beg, it’s you,” I say.
“I thought you were on my side, Pop Tart?”
I snort. “Nothing makes me happier than to see someone put you in your damn place. I think Tivon will outdo Ari in that department.”
“Ari never put me in my place.”
“Bullshit. I seem to remember you begging him to fuck you that day. Whimpering and shit. It was hot as fuck.”
“I hate you with my whole being right now.”
“Quiet,” Tivon hisses, holding his hand up for us to stop. I follow his line of sight and see two guys through the window of the apartment that we’re trying to get into.
“It’s been clear since last night. They must have been there,” Nolan replies, tapping away on his keyboard. “All the cars out front are the same.”
“So, stealth is out,” Tyler whispers. “Guns blazing?”
“Hold your position.” Tivon disappears the way that we came and comes back minutes later carrying a case. He lays it on the ground, opens the case, and has a sniper rifle put together in seconds. “I’m going there.” He points to a building to our left. “I need them to come to that window.”
“You get into position, and I got you,” Tyler responds.
We watch as Tivon carefully climbs up the fire escape stairs until he disappears on the roof. “Go.”
Tyler squeezes my hand, and I follow behind him, watching his back. We press against the buildings, staying out of sight until we’re at the apartment’s fire escape. “Ready?”
“Ready.”
Tyler starts shaking the fire escape rusty stairs and the only noise is the shattering of glass. “Go! Go!”
Tyler and I race up the stairs in unison, sliding into the shattered window, stepping over two bodies.
Another one pops around the corner, and I grab him before he can open his mouth.
I wrap my arm around his neck, pulling a knife from the sheath.
I hold it to his throat. “How many more are here?” I press harder when he refuses to answer. “How fucking many?”
“Two more.”
Tyler nods in understanding and creeps down the hallway.
I feel a disturbance in the air, and Tivon slips by me.
I tighten my arm on the guy’s neck and hold on when he starts struggling.
He goes limp in my arms, and I shove him beside his buddies to follow Tyler and Tivon.
I step around the corner right about the time Tivon slashes one guy’s throat and Tyler kicks one in the face.
They both drop, and we check the rest of the apartment.
“Keep an eye out for visitors,” I tell Nolan. “This place is trashed already.”
Tivon motions for us to follow him. “They were looking for the laptop.” He goes back to a bedroom and pulls a door to the closet open.
He starts feeling around the wall until we hear a slight click.
The wall opens to show three laptops, two phones, and cash.
Tivon grabs the laptops and shoves the phones into his pockets.
“Guys. Two SUVs just pulled up outside.”
“Stay or fight it out?” I ask.
“They’re moving fast,” Nolan says.
“Let’s go,” Tivon orders. “We can follow them. They might take us to Abraham.”
We go back out the same way we came in, as silently as possible. Tivon grabs his sniper case on the way back to the car. We slide in and wait for Nolan’s signal that they’re moving. It doesn’t take them long to realize their friends are dead and the devices are gone.
“They’re coming your way.”
We duck down in the seat, waiting for them to pass. Tivon lets them get ahead of us before pulling out behind them. “Take a left at the light.” We follow Nolan’s directions word for word, staying out of sight.
Is this finally it? Are we finally going to be able to end this?
“What the fuck?” Tyler says when we see where they’re going. “Is that another prison?”
“Not as secure, but yeah,” Tivon answers. He pulls into a wide spot, putting the SUV in park. “Nolan, do you still have eyes?”
“I can see until they go through the gates. Hold on.” The sound of Nolan’s fingers flying across the keyboard is all we can hear before he speaks again. “All cameras are offline inside. Give me five minutes and I’ll have them back up and running.”
“That’s my boy,” Tyler replies. “Do you think he’s in there?”
“Most likely. This is Abraham’s signature. They’re preparing to grab Aryeh again,” Tivon responds. “Our timeline to move safe houses just moved up. We need to get out today.”
“Do you think they know where he is?” I ask, my palms already sweating. They’re basically defenseless with Ari and Keon both healing. “What do we do?”
Tivon pulls his phone from his pocket and dials a number. “Hello?” My eyebrows shoot up when I recognize Kane’s accent.
“Safe house compromised. Ari, Keon, Jason and Kira are there alone.”
“Yebat,” Kane spits. “Do you have a back up?”
“I have several. I’ll send you the address to the next one. We’re sitting on Abraham’s possible location.”
“I’ll get them out and meet you at the new safe house.”
The call disconnects and Tivon types out a message before hitting send. “Out of everyone on your contact list, you called Kane?” Tyler asks.
“Out of everyone, he’ll be the most motivated to get them to safety.”
“Yeah, if he doesn’t drag them off to New York,” Tyler grouches.
“He’s not going to do that. He might be protective, but he respects Kira.”
“How do you know so much about Kane?”
“Because I talk to him,” Tivon says, like it’s obvious. “He’s a lot easier to deal with when he’s not kept in the dark.”
“Cameras are up,” Nolan cuts in. “Tyler, I’m feeding them to your phone.”
Tyler’s phone beeps, and he pulls up the camera feed. Nolan starts scrolling through the many cameras, and when a face pops up the screen, Tivon growls, “Abraham.”
“That’s him? I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that,” I admit. He’s just a normal looking guy in an expensive suit.
Tivon’s hand lands on the door handle, and Tyler grabs his arm. “We can’t go in there. You saw all those guards. We’ll get this motherfucker, but we’re going to do it the smart way. First, we need to get this shit to Nolan, and then we need to meet our family at the new safe house.”
I don’t miss the emphasis on our family, and neither does Tivon. He slowly sits back in the seat, rolling his neck side to side. “You’re right.”
“I’ll stay on these cameras, and I sent a file to Holden so he can too. They aren’t getting away this time.”
Not until I feel that asshole’s blood sliding down my arms.
