Chapter 10 Don’t Leave Me

"What did you say to him? That guy looked like he was about to fall apart."

Gu Chaonan idly played with my hand.

He seemed not to care much.

But the sourness in his tone was hard to hide.

I knew he was in a bad mood, so I took the initiative and held his hand tight.

"Want to know?"

The driver raised the partition on his own.

But Gu Chaonan closed his eyes and leaned back, unable to hide his exhaustion.

"Forget it."

It really wasn't convenient to talk in the car.

I glanced at our tightly clasped hands that refused to let go.

So I let him be.

I entered the gate code. The moment the crystal chandelier in the center lit up,

Gu Chaonan's kiss crashed down like a storm.

He always kissed fiercely, like a battle to steal oxygen.

Until my legs went soft and I could barely stand, only able to lean against him and gasp for air.

Today's events had hit him hard.

Everything about him felt more intense than usual.

He lifted me onto the entryway cabinet.

His hands braced behind me, leaving no chance to escape.

After that aggressive kiss ended,

the lights went out, and the view returned to darkness.

The house was so quiet only our tangled breathing remained.

I rested both hands on his broad shoulders.

Steadying a heartbeat that had sped up from the lack of air.

Suddenly, a slight weight settled in the crook of my neck.

My skin felt a trace of coolness.

It was Gu Chaonan's tears.

"What's wrong?"

He turned his face away, not wanting me to see him in such a mess.

A long while later,

I finally heard his extremely soft voice.

"Wen Yu."

"You won't leave me again, will you?"
