Chapter 16 – Aurora

It’s an exciting night. An important one.

In just a few hours, the supernatural world will be revealed to humans.

Rorik has been busy preparing for the announcement. Classes will be made available the next day, both in-person and virtually, for humans to learn more about different monsters.

It’s been nice not having the vampire’s intense presence around. He’s getting harder to resist every day. But he’s been a good boy, keeping his hands and dick to himself.

Still… I’m sexually frustrated. We haven’t shared a sex dream since he used his tie to gag me and bind my hands. He hasn’t touched me in the way I need since the night at the club.

I’m becoming desperate for him.

A part of myself is ashamed for wanting this man so badly. Did I forgive him too quickly for kidnapping me and keeping me captive for over a month? If I hadn’t escaped, would I still be locked indoors?

I can understand his reasoning. He can’t hear my thoughts. In all the years he’s lived with this ability, I’m the only one who silenced the world. I can’t imagine hearing voices in my head non-stop. How exhausting that must be.

Still, I would have understood if he had just explained that instead of literally carrying me out of the infirmary tent the night I was rescued from the monster hunters.

Right? I mean, I probably would have been super creeped out if someone told me they could hear thoughts but not mine because I’m potentially their fated mate.

And add to that me not having my memories—

Okay, yeah, never mind. I get why he did what he did. He took a chance, and it paid off.

The sun is about to set, and at nine o’clock tonight, a special news report will air for the big reveal. I’m in my room getting ready for a watch party being held at Xander’s penthouse.

I went shopping with Evangeline and her best friend, Farrah, the other day, and used the credit card Rorik gave me to buy more clothes and an outfit for tonight.

I really like the cottagecore dress that Rorik bought me. I think that’s the style I used to wear the most. It’s the outfit I’ve felt the most comfortable in aside from the lounge attire that I’ve been wearing around the apartment. So I bought more of those dresses.

I enjoyed hanging out with Farrah and Evangeline. They’re both beautiful, wonderful women. Farrah has the thickest blonde curly hair and bright blue eyes. They’re both plus-size like me, but I tower over the two. Still, they made me feel welcomed and included me in plenty of inside jokes.

We also talked about our sex lives. I was hesitant to share at first, but when they started talking about how the tip of gargoyle tails vibrate and expand into a phallic shape, I shared about Rorik’s shadows.

I can’t wait for him to use them on me again.

I inhale a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I can’t get turned on before going into a party full of monsters. They’ll all be able to smell me and the last time Rorik got jealous, he fucked me with his fingers and shadows on a dance floor in front of everyone.

Hmm. Maybe I do want to be turned on in a room full of monsters.

I give myself one more look in the mirror.

The green and blue sheer A-line dress hugs my breasts perfectly, providing a peek of cleavage.

The short sleeves show off some of the tattoos I got when I was in my twenties.

This is a memory that wasn’t taken from me, apparently.

I remember getting the snapdragons on my 21st birthday.

I’d always been drawn to the flowers because of their sweet smell and magical significance.

I’m sure I’ve used them in spells before, even if I can’t remember the exact ones.

On my 30th birthday, I got another tattoo: a crescent moon tucked within the flowers.

And on my 40th birthday, I added smoke to weave around the snapdragons and the moon to represent my witchy powers.

I wonder if Rorik would ever get a tattoo. Would it heal immediately and push out the ink?

Probably.

I keep my makeup light tonight: some eyeliner, mascara, foundation, and pink lipstick.

My hair falls down my back and around my shoulders in loose curls. I don’t usually wear my hair down. At least, post-memories stolen Aurora doesn’t. So, I loosely wrap a hair tie around one of my fingers in case I get hot.

Grabbing my purse, a cute $7,000 Valentino—again, courtesy of Rorik’s credit card—that matches my dress, I walk out the door.

Rorik is standing in the living room when I enter, watching TV with his hands in the pockets of his black dress pants that match his fitted suit. The channel is on a network news station talking about tonight’s big bipartisan announcement.

During my brunch with Evangeline and Farrah following our shopping trip, they told me there’s been speculation on human media outlets all week about what the announcement will be.

Some theories suggest it will be concrete evidence that aliens exist. Others say it’s just some new bullshit bill that promises to help the American people but will only stuff the billionaires’ pockets even more.

The supes have been posting monster videos on the internet for the past few months, building their allyship. They’re hoping this, combined with a few other preventative measures, will help ease the reaction.

Rorik turns, his eyes widen, and the sea-blue color disappears as his pupils expand. He parts his lips, showing me a peek of his fangs.

“My beautiful captive,” he purrs.

He’s the beautiful one. His dark curls are perfect atop his head. His suit fits snugly along his broad shoulders and bulky frame like another layer of skin.

He walks to me, slowly. When he reaches me, he removes his hands from his pockets to cup my face.

“I want to devour you,” he whispers, brushing his mouth over my lips. He rubs his nose along mine, something he likes to do.

“Then devour me,” I say, the words breathy and barely audible.

He groans and kisses me. His lips are slow as they work against mine. I open my mouth enough for his tongue to swoop in and caress my own. This kiss is sensual, consuming. It’s a promising kiss. A declaration.

I whimper the moment his fangs scrape my lips. Blood fills my mouth, and a low growl sounds from Rorik’s throat. He sucks on the cut he made, then moves his hands down my body, over my sides and around to grab my ass. He squeezes hard enough to make me gasp.

He chuckles. “You like that?”

“Yes,” I groan.

He lifts one of my legs and tucks it around his hip, allowing him to grind his hardening cock into my needy pussy.

I might need to change my panties before we go.

“Do you feel what you do to me, Aurora? How wonderful you taste?”

“Rorik, please,” I moan.

The vampire drops my leg and releases me, taking a step back.

What the fuck?

“Not now. Tonight, though. After the party.” He holds out his hand, and I frown before taking it. “Come on. We’re late.”

He leads me out of the penthouse and into the elevator. Once we reach the lobby, we exit the building and get inside a black SUV waiting at the curb.

The moment we take off, Rorik’s hand lands on my thigh.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to practice your masking ability?”

He fists the fabric of my dress, inching it up until my skin is exposed.

My breath hitches, but I nod.

“Do it. Do it now. Mask us. Our voices and our sounds too.”

His hand slips beneath the dress, his fingertips grazing the seam of my pussy. I’m so wet for him right now.

“Better hurry, or they’ll hear you.”

He’s talking about the driver and the other man in the front seat. A bodyguard, I assume.

I close my eyes and focus, remembering the spell Evangeline and her mother taught me.

The words are simple: Spirit hide our shapes from sight. Spirit mute our sounds. Spirit harbor our energies, until we’re ready to be found.

I repeat the sentences three times while calling to the energy within my own body. It’s there. It’s always been there. Most of it is still being suppressed by whatever spell my mother cast upon me. But I’m able to use whatever’s left to implement something as simple as a masking spell.

“Do you feel that? The electrified bubble around us?”

“Yes.”

“That means it worked,” Rorik says, clutching my chin and turning my face away to expose my neck to him. He grazes his fangs over the skin, and I can’t help the moan that slips out.

It’s loud, and I’m praying to whatever god will listen that my masking spell really is working as Rorik says.

He releases my face and moves his hand back between my legs. His fingertips push my panties aside, and he rubs them up and down my slit.

“So wet for me,” he groans. I gasp when he slides two fingers inside. “You can be as loud as you’d like, Little Lamb. No one can hear you.”

I glance to the front of the car, and the two men are carrying on a conversation as if nothing nefarious is happening in the backseat.

Rorik pumps his fingers in and out of me at a leisurely pace. I push my hips up, attempting to help ease the ache he’s causing.

“Mhm. Didn’t I say I’d be the one to make you squirm?”

His other hand slips down the top of my dress until finding a nipple. He takes it between two fingers and pinches.

I moan and buck my hips.

“God, Rorik, please,” I whimper.

“I’m not your God, Aurora. I’m your mate,” he says. “Now let me hear how well I fuck you with my fingers.”

He picks up speed, adding a third finger as he thrusts them into me. The heel of his palm presses against my swollen clit, and I buck again, screaming in response.

It’s nearly too much. Him squeezing my nipple, how well his fingers fill me, how hard he’s pressing against the aching bundle of nerves…

“Bite me,” I wheeze, bringing my wrist to his mouth.

Without a second thought, he sinks his fangs into the flesh.

An orgasm erupts, my eyes rolling into the back of my head as his lips pull and pull, drinking from me.

I come.

My entire body shakes as pleasure rolls through me. My consciousness blurs, so I wrap my fingers around Rorik’s wrist, tugging. He unlatches from me and licks the wound clean of blood before placing a gentle kiss there.

I inhale a deep breath, attempting to clear the fuzziness around my vision.

Rorik removes his fingers from my cunt and slips them into his mouth. He closes his eyes, the lids fluttering as he sucks my pleasure off the digits.

When he opens them, he smirks and leans in to kiss me. I taste myself on his lips. Salty but somewhat sweet.

“So good, Little Lamb.”

I glance down at the tent in his pants. When I reach for the buttons to release his cock, he stops me.

“It’s okay, Aurora. You don’t need to—”

“I want to,” I say, cutting him off and slapping his hand away.

“Then you better implement the shield again. It fell apart after you came.”

Oh. Shit.

I repeat the words of the spell, and the shield to hide us implements nearly immediately. It was easier this time.

The moment the spell’s energy whooshes over us, I get to work. My hands nearly shake as I unbutton Rorik’s pants and roll down the zipper.

This is the first time I’ve seen his cock. I’ve felt it. I knew it was big. But he’s always been the one to pleasure me while fully clothed, either in our dreams or that night on the dance floor.

I lean down to take the tip in my mouth and suck around it while I wrap my hand around his shaft.

He curses and bucks his hips. “Hurry, Lamb. We’re almost at Xander and Evangeline’s.”

I slide him down my throat, no longer wasting time. The tip hits the back, causing me to gag. My reflex isn’t the best, but something about having Rorik’s cock in my mouth is making me feral.

I flatten my tongue and suck him hard, bobbing my head up and down his length while twisting my hands around his shaft. I’m not even sure if this is good for him, but I just know it’s making my body light up. Another orgasm building.

“Fuck, yes, Aurora,” Rorik growls. “I’m close.”

He holds my head, stopping me from moving, and thrusts up into my mouth. I gag again, my eyes watering, but I let him fuck me like this. I want it like this.

It takes him three more pumps before he’s spilling himself down my throat.

I swallow every last drop.

He releases me, and I sit up, wiping the tears that fell down my cheeks. Rorik’s head falls to the back seat’s headrest.

He smiles, reaching his hand for my face, and swipes his thumb over my swollen lips.

“So pretty like this. Destroyed by my cock.”

I smile and roll my eyes.

Taking out my phone, I open the camera and check my makeup. My face is a little red, but the mascara held.

Evangeline and Farrah suggested a waterproof one, saying I’ll be needing it. They weren’t wrong.

“Let me see your wrist,” Rorik says.

I hold it up and gasp when I notice the wound is no longer bleeding and on its way to closing up.

He must see the confusion on my face. “My saliva has a healing component.”

“Do all vampires have that?”

“No. Other vampires use their blood to close bite marks. An ability we were given as a way to avoid detection from humans.”

“So your blood can heal—”

He shakes his head, cutting off my question. “Our blood can’t heal wounds we didn’t create. Our blood can’t cure illnesses.”

I vaguely remember this about vampires, but before I can ask more questions about it, the SUV slows to a stop in front of a tall, luxury building in Midtown. I finish reapplying my lipstick and pop my lips together.

“You’re perfect,” Rorik says, still smiling from ear to ear. Still proud of himself for making a mess of me. “Ready?”

“Yep. Let’s do this,” I say, and he opens the door.
