Chapter 299

“My family never agreed to Angela being my wife… but that doesn’t matter. I’ve already decided. I only want you.”

Trey’s voice had gone hoarse, strained at the edges. He looked like a man clinging to the last piece of sanity he had left.

“As for Pete… he can stay with Angela. We can have a child of our own. We can start over properly.”

The words landed like something shattered and irreparable.

He wasn’t negotiating anymore.

He was unraveling.

Khloe gave a quiet, cold laugh.

“So I heard that correctly,” she said lightly, turning her gaze past him. “You’re planning to divorce Angela.”

Trey stiffened.

Then he sensed it—something off in her tone.

Slowly, he turned.

Angela stood behind him.

Still.

Watching.

Her face had gone pale, but her eyes were fixed on him like she had already stepped out of her own body and was looking at a stranger.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Angela felt something inside her collapse without sound.

All her pride, all her sacrifices, all the years she told herself she had won—

It all meant nothing in front of this moment.

So fragile.

So easily discarded.

“Trey…” Her voice came out uneven, forced into calm. “Are you really going to divorce me? And abandon Pete? Just like that… for her?”

Her fingers curled tightly at her sides, trembling despite her effort to stay composed.

Trey’s throat moved, but no words came.

Because nothing he said would fix it.

And nothing he said would be true in a way that didn’t destroy someone.

His eyes drifted—first to Khloe.

Cold. Detached. Watching like she was observing something mildly inconvenient.

Then to Angela.

Broken. Humiliated. Still waiting for a version of him that no longer existed.

Something in him cracked under the weight of both.

“Yes.”

The word came out quietly.

Final.

Angela’s breath caught.

Trey lowered his gaze, as if the act of looking at her any longer would burn him alive.

“I’m sorry,” he said hoarsely. “I can’t lie to myself anymore. The person I love… is Khloe.”

Silence followed.

Then Angela let out a short, disbelieving laugh.

“You really are something,” she said, voice trembling now with fury. “The best actor I’ve ever seen. And the most disgusting.”

At the word disgusting, something in the crowd shifted.

People had already gathered at the Fox Group entrance—phones raised, whispers spreading, hungry for scandal.

Khloe glanced at the scene with visible impatience.

She had seen enough.

Without another word, she turned to her bodyguard and gave a brief gesture.

“Clear it.”

Then she walked away.

No hesitation.

No second glance.

Trey jolted forward immediately, as if his body reacted before his mind did.

“Khloe—!”

But his vision spun.

Weakness, fever, exhaustion—all of it crashed back at once. His knees buckled halfway.

Angela caught him.

Her arms wrapped around him instinctively, steadying him before he hit the ground.

“Angela…” he murmured, barely conscious of anything else.

For a moment, she didn’t move.

Then her hand rose sharply.

A slap echoed across the noise.

Trey’s head turned slightly with the impact, but he didn’t fight back.

Didn’t even look up.

Angela’s chest rose and fell rapidly. Cameras flashed. People whispered louder now, recording every second.

She grabbed his arm, trying to pull him away from the humiliation.

But he didn’t move.

Not because he resisted her—

But because he had nothing left holding him up.

“I don’t know what you’re trying to do,” Angela said through clenched teeth, forcing control into her voice. “But I won’t let you drag me down with you. I’m furious… but I won’t deal with this here.”

Trey gave a faint, broken smile.

It wasn’t amusement.

It was a surrender.

Because for the first time, the truth he had spoken—

had landed on no one.

That night, Khloe still couldn’t reach Nick.

And the silence on the other end of the line slowly turned into something heavier than anxiety.
