Chapter 7. #2
"She has been given a tablet that contains your personal schedule.
She will know everything that goes on. It is her job to know.
She will also be off-limits to you. If you fuck her, her job is done.
She cannot be thinking of your security if she is thinking of fucking you.
" Brian nodded, a wave of disappointment washing over him.
He had been hoping she was ugly, not a woman of impossible beauty, but knowing that she would be attached to his side at all times, he also knew that she had to be beautiful.
She was going to be looking like an assistant, a discreet, professional presence, but he knew in his heart that she would be something more. He groaned.
Holly smiled, a low, sensual curve of her lips.
"Boss," she whispered, her voice a soft, teasing sound.
"You can always use your sexual frustration on Constance or myself.
" He knew she was right, that their bodies were his to command, and he pulled her to him and kissed her, a deep, passionate kiss that was a silent thank you.
"God," he asked, his voice a low, awestruck murmur, "how did I become so lucky?"
She smiled, a radiant, beautiful expression.
"Only two days in, and you already feel that?
There are hundreds of girls out there waiting for their chance in your bed.
" He knew she was right again. The thought was both exhilarating and a little bit overwhelming.
"Yeah," he whispered, "but right now… you and Constance... it is perfect."
She took his hand and guided him to the bedroom, a world of warmth and quiet luxury.
Constance was already gone, but before she had left, she had put out a suit for him…
a nice, elegant navy blue suit with a matching blue tie.
Holly helped him get dressed, her hands moving with a familiar, easy grace.
As she tied his tie, a final, intimate touch, she kissed him.
"Directly to your office," she whispered.
"I will join you after I get dressed for the day.
" Then she put on a robe and left the master bedroom.
Brian looked at himself in the mirror, a polished, perfect figure of a man.
He had never in his life thought he would be standing like this, looking like a man of power and wealth.
He was now going to meet the security officer who would be guarding him twenty-four/seven.
He chuckled, a low, disbelieving sound. "Fucking nuts," he whispered, the words a silent acknowledgment of the surreal new world he was now living in.
He then left the bedroom, ready to face his new life, his new empire, and his new queen.
As Brian walked through the spacious apartment, he was acutely aware of his new reality.
He felt a dozen eyes on him, a constant, silent scrutiny that was both unnerving and oddly comforting.
He saw the three officers by the stairs, two men and a woman, their bodies a picture of quiet readiness.
Their eyes, though focused, were discreet, a professional gaze that acknowledged his presence without being overbearing.
He felt a sense of security settle over him, a calm confidence that this team, this fortress, might just be enough.
He reached the door to his office, a heavy, solid slab of dark wood, and pushed it open.
He stopped dead in his tracks. Inside stood a woman, a figure so breathtakingly beautiful that he felt the air leave his lungs.
She was dressed in a suit that, while professional, was tailored so perfectly it seemed to be a second skin, highlighting the graceful, powerful lines of her body.
Her face was angelic, every feature perfectly sculpted.
Her eyes were a stunning, storm-gray, a color that seemed to hold a world of secrets and power.
Her short, blonde hair was cut in a sleek, elegant pixie cut that framed her face and drew attention to her high cheekbones.
She was a fucking angel, a vision of beauty he had never thought possible.
She smiled, a slow, radiant curve of her lips, and held out her hand. "Mr. Thomson," she said, her voice a low, confident melody. "I am Dani. Dani Kano."
Brian took her hand, and her grip was firm, a testament to the quiet strength she possessed. "Kano," he said, a flicker of recognition in his eyes. "As in Kano Security?"
She smiled again, a knowing look in her eyes. "Yes, sir. Gloria is my older sister, and John Kano is my father."
Brian smirked. God, Gloria had been a goddess, a woman built like a brick house with a fierce, professional confidence.
But Dani was a different kind of perfection, a woman who looked like a runway model, yet he knew, with a certainty that was both exhilarating and terrifying, that she was just as dangerous as her sister.
He noted the subtle outline of a gun at the small of her back, a silent reminder that her beauty was a professional facade.
"So you are the one that will be my shadow?" he asked. She smiled and nodded, her eyes twinkling with a silent understanding. He gestured to the chair in front of the desk, and she sat down, her movements as fluid and graceful as a dancer's.
"Thank you, sir," she said. "I have been going over the schedule, and I see that there are no plans on leaving the premises for the next few days."
Brian nodded. "Until I know security is in place, I will not take any chances."
"Very smart," she said, her voice a quiet, professional approval.
"There is a scheduled meeting today, here in your office, with a lawyer.
" She leaned forward slightly, her eyes a deep, serious gray.
"I would like to be present. It is my duty to keep you safe, and until we know the players, leaving you alone with anyone is a risk. "
There was a soft knock on the door, and it opened. In stepped Holly and Constance, their presence a familiar, comforting sight. "Constance," Brian said, a note of calm authority in his voice. "Who is the lawyer who is coming today?"
She smiled. "Mr. Willstadder, sir."
A slow smile spread across Brian's face. "Then we will be okay for now, Dani. Mr. Willstadder is the one who introduced me to this world. I know him."
Dani nodded, a look of professional understanding on her face. She made a note on her tablet, a small, efficient gesture that logged the lawyer as an approved person. Brian had a feeling that his new life, with Dani as his shadow, was going to be filled with many more surprises.
---
For the next hour, they went over security.
Dani had many small adjustments she wanted to implement, each one a meticulous detail designed to fortify his new fortress.
Brian went with some of them, agreeing to the new camera placements and the expanded patrol routes.
But there was one she proposed that he immediately refused: a body search for every woman who came near him.
"I am sorry, but that I feel will be too much," he said, his voice calm but firm. The idea of having the women who would soon be a part of his inner circle subjected to a physical search, a violation of their privacy, was a line he would not cross.
Dani looked at him, her storm-gray eyes unwavering, her professional demeanor as unyielding as ever.
"Sir, if I am to ensure your complete safety, I have to know that the women who get close to you are not carrying a weapon.
" Her voice was a calm, reasoned tone, a logical counterpoint to his own emotional decision.
"I understand that, but I still say no," he said, his voice firm. "Here is the compromise: you can stay as close as you like… that is, unless they get to the bedroom with me. Then, I will require privacy."
Holly smirked, a knowing look in her eyes. Constance had to hide a giggle, her hand flying to her mouth to stifle the sound.
"Sir…" Dani started, a note of frustration in her voice.
"Let me put it this way," Brian began, his voice dropping to a low, intimate murmur. "You are a very attractive woman, Dani, and the only way you join me in the bedroom is if you join the action. But should you do that, your job as my personal guard is over."
