Epilogue
Five Years Later
Alexey held onto his son’s hands and made helicopter noises as he ran him around the backyard.
His son, Alexey Junior, giggled and let out a little squeal. His five-year-old son was a little terror, but he absolutely loved him.
He glanced toward the porch and looked toward his pregnant wife, as she smiled at him.
“Daddy!” He watched as his little girl, Francesca, came running toward him. She was two and a half years old, already potty trained, and was looking forward to being a big sister.
His wife smiled at him, and he picked Francesca up as Alexey Junior held onto his forehead. He made his way toward his woman, where he reached out and kissed her. His son let out a groan and their daughter giggled.
To complete the moment, Bell, their Jack Russell terrier, worked her way around his feet, and then sat, waiting for her ball, which he had in his pocket.
“You’re a busy man,” Jane said.
“A very busy man.” He winked at her. “All the kids want my attention.”
Jane put a hand on her swollen stomach. “And this one is wanting you as well.”
They didn’t know if they were having a boy or girl, and he didn’t care.
Married life with Jane was a dream.
It was better than he could have ever imagined, and he had kept his promise to her, he’d made sure no one had ever hurt her again. No one had dared to ever take his wife. He hunted down those that even plotted to do something like that.
Alexey reached down and placed his hand on her stomach, feeling their baby kicking. “This one is going to be a fighter.”
Jane laughed. “All of our kids are fighters.”
“Have you heard from Nikolai, Makar, and Igor?” he asked.
“They’re all on their way.”
Alexey smiled. “You know what that means?” He looked from his wife, to his little girl, to his son.
“It’s time for the tickly monster.” His kids screamed while Jane laughed.
Francesca wriggled out of his hands and quickly started to run across the yard.
Alexey Junior followed her, as did Bell, and Jane did as well.
He watched his wife’s cute ass and knew he had gotten lucky.
One moment, he’d been looking down the barrel of the gun, believing they were going to be his last moments on earth, and in the next, the love of his life had charged in.
Jane was everything to him, and he would never let her go.
