“I think this is going to be perfect,” Eden Summers said to her best friend.

From the sound of it, Hilary wasn’t really interested in what she had to say.

There was a giggle, and Eden knew that meant her friend had company.

“I’d better go, and I’ll talk to you later.

” She pressed the red button on her cell phone.

Looking around Mac’s room, she couldn’t help but feel the nerves start to spiral.

It was kind of surreal to think that tonight, on Valentine’s Day, she was going to lose her virginity.

Not that anyone knew she was still a virgin.

She’d been able to keep that secret locked up tight.

Jumping into bed with a man on the first date was not something she did.

She and Mac had been dating for a year and a half, and yes, it surprised her, but he’d been the perfect gentleman, which considering he was a member of the Chaos Monsters MC, was a miracle.

Chaos Monsters MC didn’t exactly have the nicest reputation around town, even though they owned the only bar, as well as a strip club. The large town of Rivermont Ridge was not without problems. It was once three different towns—River, Mount, and Ridge—that joined names to become Rivermont Ridge.

She didn’t know the gory details, just that she had lived in this town all her life, and she learned to survive. It wasn’t a bad place to live, however, there were times you didn’t want to go outside, like when you heard the sound of roaring bikes.

She’d met Mac at the summer fair a year and a half ago, and they hit it off.

At first, she’d been nervous, seeing as he was biker.

He was gruff, he cursed, and was just an all-around bad guy.

She was aware he had a couple of guns, and she never questioned him when he arrived at her house bloodied or with bruised, busted-up knuckles.

Instead, she learned first aid, took a class in it, in fact, without him knowing, so she would be able to patch him up without consulting the Internet.

She and Mac hadn’t had sex. There had been a couple of times that their makeout sessions had gotten intense, but she couldn’t bring herself to go the next step.

He’d been the perfect gentleman. Which is why she knew he was the one, and this Valentine’s Day, she had purchased a lovely red lace negligee, a matching silk thong, and had cleaned his room with the intention of seducing him.

She was excited and nervous. She’d not told Mac she was a virgin. Being twenty-five and a virgin had been the last thing she wanted to talk about. Hilary didn’t even know she was a virgin, and her friend had been with her for many years.

Letting out a breath, she decided to step into the bathroom and check her appearance one last time.

She’d curled her long, brown hair. Most of the time with her brown locks, she felt kind of mousy.

She looked for internet tutorials on ways to style it, until she got the contract to update the stylist, Kristin Shaw’s, website in town.

Kristin had been so happy with the new website design, easy access, as well as booking appointments, which she made so easily, that she now got discounted hair care.

She enjoyed going to see Kristin and they’d become good friends.

“You’ve got this, Eden. You’re ready.”

She washed her hands, took a deep breath, and that was when she heard the door open. A smile broke out across her face, and just as she took a step toward the door and heard the words, she immediately dropped it.

“I need my dick inside you so badly.” There was no mistaking Mac’s gruff voice. She’d been listening to him for so long, she loved his voice.

“Yeah, baby, is that what you want? You want your big fat dick in my cunt before you go to your woman’s?”

And her heart shattered. Eden stood in his bathroom, dressed and ready to make love, while Mac had come into his bedroom with Hilary, her supposed best friend.

She moved away from the door, but there was no mistaking the sounds coming from them. They were having sex. The clothes had been thrown to the floor, and Hilary was now begging for it.

“That’s right, fuck me so you’re ready to go and deal with Eden.”

This couldn’t be any more mortifying. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

Wrapping her arms around her waist, anyone else might go and confront them—anyone with a spine—but Eden just stood there, dressed ready for sex, and now the man she thought she was in love with was having sex with her best friend.

How long had it been going on? Did they get a good laugh out of this?

She’d told Hilary she had a surprise for Mac, but she’d not told her what it was. This sucked.

Eden was pretty sure she heard them complete, and there were giggles. Her mortification didn’t end there, as the door suddenly opened, and she heard Razor.

“Dude, you’re needed out in the city, now,” Razor said.

Razor had been the one to see her come upstairs. Was he helping her? Or was this club business?

“Come on, dude, for real?”

“I don’t make the rules, I’m telling you to do your fucking job! And get that whore out of here.”

“Hey!” Hilary snapped out.

Eden waited until there was silence. There was a lot of complaining, and then she heard Mac. “Call Eden, tell her I’m going to be late tonight and not to wait up.”

And that was it.

Silence.

“You can come out now,” Razor said.

She wanted the whole world to open up and swallow her. Eden grabbed her jacket and quickly pulled it on over her negligee, not that it did a lot of good to hide her humiliation.

She assumed she was staying over here, and Mac had said the guys don’t like strangers parking their cars. It’s for the bikes and members only. She’d taken a cab.

“I need to call a cab,” she said.

“Don’t worry about it. I’ve got you covered.” He swung his keys around his fingers, and Eden nodded, feeling the heat building inside her face as she followed him out.

He reached behind him, grabbed her hand, and before she knew what was happening, they were making their way outside. He must have taken her out through a shortcut of the MC clubhouse. It was dark out. There were a couple of guys across the yard, but no one could see them.

He got her into his car, rounded the vehicle, and climbed inside.

Neither spoke a word as he pulled out of the clubhouse and proceeded to drive back toward town.

She lived on the outskirts of town, in a small but up-and-coming neighborhood that advertised for new families.

She lived in a small cul-de-sac with her sister, Maeve, who ironically, never liked Hilary.

Always said she was a first-class bitch.

Eden designed websites for a living, whereas Maeve was a makeup artist, and a damn good one.

The drive was long, filled with awkward silence. She had no idea what to say. She usually loved the quiet, but this was not fun. She felt like she was constantly squirming in her seat, but that could also be because the thong had ridden up her ass, making it uncomfortable.

“Are you okay?” Razor asked the moment they arrived at her house. She didn’t recall giving him her address, so she was a little taken aback by how he knew where she lived, but rather than say anything, she kept the questions to herself.

“Yeah, I’m great. I was surprising my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day, and he decided to have sex with my best friend. I am super chill about it.”

“He’s not worth it, and Hilary is a slut. She’s fucking her way through most of the club, but in the last few months, she’s been hitting at Mac hard,” Razor said.

She couldn’t help but laugh. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?

He shrugged. “He’s a piece of shit. I’m advising you not to take it too personally.”

She nodded her head, because she did get it, in a way.

“Thank you for bringing me home.”

The only consolation right now was that her sister was away on business, and she didn’t have to worry about how angry she was going to be.

Eden felt anger, humiliation, disappointment, heartbreak, and of course, she got it. Why would anyone fall for her?

****

There was no job in the city.

Razor had watched as Eden came through that fucking clubhouse door with those sweet smiles and promises he knew Mac didn’t deserve.

From the moment Mac had been dating Eden, he’d not treated her well.

Eden didn’t know that every time he came back to the clubhouse after being with her, he’d take whatever piece of pussy would throw herself at him. Eden deserved so much better.

He at least figured Mac would attempt to contact Eden, as it was Valentine’s Day. Of course, this was meant to be a surprise. He figured that out when Mac arrived with Hilary, and the two were making out for all the guys to see.

Now, a lot of people liked Eden. In the beginning, he thought she was a pampered first-class bitch, as she dressed so prim and proper, but he had come to see that was exactly who she was—class. She didn’t thrust her chest out to every passing man. She didn’t flirt with anyone.

Eden was kind and sweet. And Mac had no right to stake his claim on her.

Slowly, the guys had come to adore her. When Mac used one of the guys being sick as an excuse to fuck his way through a weekend, she brought them freaking chicken soup.

Not just for one person. She made a big batch to feed the whole club, along with homemade biscuits, and he lost count of all the cakes she brought.

Again, a lot of birthdays were made with excuses by Mac to not see his woman.

The guys didn’t like the way Mac was treating her. They all knew a good woman when they saw her. Even though she had been nervous whenever she came to the clubhouse, she always tried to hide it with a smile, but there was no mistaking the shaking hand.
