CHAPTER 4

*~* Molly *~*

I’m going to have to walk through that recreation room and pass all those awful women.

They give me nasty looks every time they see me, which has been all of twice.

But I’m not taking shit from them, and when that skank started mouthing off at me, I was more than ready for her.

Therefore, I reacted swiftly when she raised her hand to strike me, pinning her to the ground.

Breaker and his friend thought it was highly amusing when they walked in on it, but I just made my point then stepped away from her. Trouble was I then had to have a shower because with her lifestyle you don’t know what she has on her clothing, what there is of it, or her body.

I walk through the rec room, keeping myself calm and showing no sense of what I’m feeling. I quickly reach the office Bull works in, and I know it’s right as it says Bull in large letters on the door. The other doors state Secretary, Treasurer and President, but his door just states Bull.

Knocking I wait for the order to ‘come in’ before I open the door and step inside. I give Bull a smile as he turns in his seat a little to see who entered. “Hi, Molly. What can I do for you?”

“I wondered if you could check out the number I have for Carrie-Anne. She’s not answering my calls. I’m now wondering if she ditched the phone?”

“Have you got your phone with you?”

Holding the phone out for Bull, I cringe when I admit, “I’m sorry, but I don’t have a charger so it has no power.”

Shrugging, Bull takes the phone, plugs it into a charger on his desk, then messes with it for a few minutes. I stand quietly, wondering if I should leave and come back later, or stand here like an idiot.

“Take a seat, Molly.” Bull continues working, and now he’s used some kind of lead and plugged the phone into his computer.

I lean forward to see what he’s doing because it’s fascinating. I have always loved messing with my laptop, but it’s at the apartment and I hope whoever is checking it out thinks to bring that with them.

“Okay, Molly. The phone is showing as in use. That tells us she is ignoring your calls. She is however, in Eastridge at the moment. She is at the diner on East Street.” Bull turns and looks at me and I give him one of my brightest smiles.

Then he continues, “Your stepsister is in deep shit. She was a girlfriend to one of the Cobras, and we don’t know what occurred, but she stole and then ran.

Stay away from her, because believe me they will find her and they will punish her. ”

“She has always been stupid. She gets into trouble doing idiotic shit, then runs. That’s when she’ll contact me, and expect me to dig her out of whatever trouble she has landed herself in.

I’m sick of it if I’m being truthful. The wanting money, needing me to smooth over people’s hard feelings, and it’s gone on for years.

Now this mess with a motorcycle club. Honestly, I’m going to kill her, then never speak to her again.

” I am on my feet now and pacing with the agitation this conversation has caused.

“Girl, if you kill her, you won’t be speaking to her again. She’ll be dead.” Bull chortles and I can’t help the small laugh that takes me by surprise.

“Well, thank you, Bull.” I walk over to him take the phone and kiss his cheek. Which I see surprises him initially but pleases him, too.

Stepping into the rec room, a woman walks over to me smiling. “The clothes look like they fit you okay. Do you need anything else? Oh, I’m Bri, by the way.”

“Thank you, Bri. The clothes are fine. They fit near enough perfectly. It was kind of you to help me out.” I smile, and when she links arms with me and leads me to a corner booth occupied by another woman, I go along with it.

Once I’m sitting in the booth, thankfully on the end so I can get out if I need to, I give the other woman a small smile acknowledging she is in the booth too.

“This is Marcia, she is Bank’s Old Lady, and I think you know I’m Saddle’s woman, or Old Lady as we are called,” Bri states, and I can see she is proud of the fact she’s an old lady, but I’m not sure it is such a flattering title.

“I’m Molly, and I’m no-one’s anything,” I state clearly, and with a hint of sass.

Marcia laughs. “Oh, I can see you are not enamored with the old lady title. But it is a title of honor and not derogatory.”

“Everyone’s first impression is like yours. We always have to tell people that old lady is the same as being a wife.” Bri looks at me and gives me a warm smile, and I return a small one back at her.

“Okay, so if it’s like a wife, why not just get married?” I ask.

I sit back and listen to all the explanations she gives regarding being an Old Lady.

Bri continues, “It’s a highly respected position, significant as it shows the loyalty, love and support that is given between the two people.

The Old Lady has to embrace her role, and show pride and dedication to her position, man, and club. ”

Marcia takes up the explanation. “We organize club activities, and support what the club may be doing. We are the quiet eyes and ears, and we never disrespect a brother even if we feel we want to. There would be punishment from our man if we disrespected, but our man would also hand out punishment if we were needlessly disrespected.”

“Wow, I did not know. But what about the other women?”

“Well, that’s a different story altogether.

” Bri curls her nose up. “Club women, often called sweetbutts, pass arounds, patch bunnies, or something else. They are mainly women who hang around the club, and they have sex with any member that is willing. They aim to get a property patch, but it is unusual for one to get a brother. It’s not unheard of, but it’s unlikely.

Then you have the house mouse. These are usually young, and they live with a brother in exchange for cleaning, and generally keeping the house well kept.

It depends on the couple if they have a sexual or platonic relationship, but it’s usually a good relationship and the woman will move on when she’s ready. ”

“I never realized there was so much to the clubs.” I look at Floss who passes by us giving attitude my way.

“Floss, you want to continue being here?” Marcia asks, and Floss looks down, making out she is being submissive, but her body language is saying anything but. “Give our guest another bit of trouble. Please make my day.”

Floss scurries away, but not before Bri laughs quietly. “Honestly, that one needs watching. She’s after being Breaker’s Old Lady, but it’s never going to happen.”

“Gee, she has sex with most of these men, then thinks one will marry her? It’s delusional isn’t it?

” I look around the room and there are other women wiping tables, taking beer bottles away and generally cleaning the room.

But all are wearing hardly any clothing, and I suppose that makes them easy to spot in a busy room.

I’m happy I’m not going to be here long if this is how things are going to be with the club women.

I’ve had nothing but nasty looks from all of them, and yeah, it’s when nobody can see them doing it.

“You okay, Molly?” Marcia asks.

“Yes, I’m digesting all the information.” Standing from the booth, I decide to go find my stepsister and cut all ties with her. “I’ve got to get out of here, as I have a meeting to get to.”

“I don’t think you are allowed out of the compound, Molly.” Bri looks around to see if anyone is taking notice of what we are saying.

Frowning, as I don’t think anyone is going to stop me from doing what I need to do or where I need to go. “Well, I have a stepsister to kill.”

“Can you do it tomorrow? I’m going shopping tomorrow and I could sneak you out. You’ll not get out of here today, Molly. You have the brothers coming back from checking out your apartment, too.” Marcia, same as Bri, looks around to see who is watching us.

“Well, I don’t know where she’ll be tomorrow. A short while ago she was at a diner on East Street in Eastridge. That’s why I wanted to go now, or she’ll disappear again.”

“Oh, I see. Has Bull checked for you?” Bri asks, and I hold back the smirk when I see Marcia nodding her head in unison with Bri’s question.

“Yes, he checked for me.” I step away from the booth because I’ve been standing here a while now and starting to feel ridiculous.

Marcia edges out of the booth and points to the booth she’s just left. “Wait while I go ask Bull to check if she is still there.”

Now, I’m sitting with Bri twiddling my thumbs, waiting for Marcia to come back. I’m taken by surprise when Bri asks. “So, what’s going on between you and Breaker?”

Turning to look at her, because I’m astonished at her question. “There is nothing going on between Breaker and me. We were just grabbed by that other club. Thankfully, we helped each other escape and get a message to your president. That’s it, no romance going on between us.”

“Oh, that’s a shame. I thought maybe you and Breaker were together.”

Before more can be said Marcia walks back into the rec room and to our booth.

Taking a seat, she looks at me as she speaks, “Nope, she’s moved from the diner, and now she’s turned off her phone.

You’ll have to wait until she turns it back on, but I bribed Bull to tell us when she’s back on the air. ”

“What did you bribe him with?” Bri leans forward and her eyes are wide with curiosity.

“One of my special coconut and pineapple cakes. He wants a LOT of frosting.” Marcia emphasizes the lot regarding the frosting.

“No point me going out after all, then.” Sighing as I know Carrie-Anne has slipped away again.

The front door opens, and four men walk into the rec room. One walks over to the three of us in the booth and gives me a pitying look. “I’m sorry, Molly, but your apartment is wrecked. There isn’t a thing left intact.”

I sit stunned and if I’m honest, I could easily burst into tears. I’ve only just gotten my apartment as I would like it to be. Spent money on new decorations, and even a beautiful cover for the sofa, which had seen better days.

“This is Chips, Molly,” Marcia informs me, giving a Duh look at the man.

“Riddle has spoken with the landlord. He’s given him hell about the lack of security in the building.” Chips smirks and spins the story out somewhat before I interrupt him.

“Are you telling me I get compensation for the damage because the security on the building wasn’t up to spec?

Yet, the people that did this were intentionally after me anyway, but you are having the landlord claim on his insurance to put things right?

” My eyes must be as huge as saucers at this stage because I’ve heard nothing like this.

Marcia and Bri laugh, and by the way they are looking at me, they are laughing at my shocked face. I, on the other hand, keep looking at Chips for confirmation. Which he gives by nodding every few seconds.

Bull walks over from somewhere and as I hadn’t noticed where from, he makes me jump and I give a little squeak at the same time. Much to everyone’s amusement once more.

“I’ve just spoken to your boss, Molly, and she’s finished with you. Won’t budge on the issue either. I threatened her with the Oversight Board, but you broke the contract by not contacting her on a no turn up basis.”

“No, turn up? No freaking turn up? Oh, she’ll pay me severance big style or I’ll take her to the Oversight Board.

She can’t call it no turn up when I was freaking kidnapped.

” I’m now on my feet and huffing loudly.

It’s a darn good job that stupid bitch is not in front of me because I’d smack the shit out of her for being a total idiot.

“I wouldn’t let her get away with it,” Marcia snaps.

Bri, of course throws in her thoughts. “Yeah, what a bitch. I take it she knows Molly was kidnapped?” Bri asks Bull as she stands, placing her hands on her hips.

Bull grins. “Oh, yeah, she knows. I made sure to tell her.”

“Well, she’s not getting this all her own way.” I have an idea flash across my mind, and I give Marcia and Bri a look.

Bull groans, before he walks away mumbling, “Shit, do I want to know?”

Turning to Bri, Marcia and Chips who is still standing here with an amused look on his face I snarl.

“Well, let’s see what she thinks about my plan shall we.

Maybe HR will think twice about the position my boss has put them in.

” I give an evil grin, then cackle like a witch, which has the three of them laughing even more and louder.
