CHAPTER 33
*~* Molly *~*
We have a week until the wedding, and we need to complete all the plans. I’m pleased we have had no issues at the practice since Jamie went on vacation two days ago. I will miss seeing her bustling around because she is such a life force at the place that everyone is drawn to her.
“Breaker, are you ready? I need to get to the clubhouse and if you are not ready to leave, I’ll meet you there.” I mumble, ‘Men, talk about women taking a long time to get ready. Breaker takes forever.’
“What are you sayin’, babe?”
“Nothing, except come on.” I roll my eyes, grab my purse and walk out of the house. If he doesn’t follow me out I’m going without him.
Squealing with surprise when I’m picked up and carried to Breaker’s hog. “Come on, babe. Let’s get moving.”
Gritting my teeth because I could really go off on a tantrum right now.
I’ve waited for forty minutes for him to finish messing around, putting shit in his beard and making sure he looks good.
Honestly, the man is vain as all heck. I stand like a child while he places my helmet on my head, kisses my nose and helps me get on behind him once he’s straddled the hog.
Honestly, it would be easier just to take myself to the clubhouse.
Don’t think I don’t miss the twinkle in his eyes or the slight smirk on his face. I think I’m being played!
Two hours , two coffees, and a cinnamon roll later, I lean back in my seat. I’m at a table I’m sharing in the rec room with Bri and Marcia. We have eventually agreed on what decoration we are having and where we are putting it.
“This is going to be a wow, and you know Breaker is not going to know what hit him. They all think pink lace and stuff like that, but this is going to blow that image out of the water.” Marcia giggles, and I have to admit I’m feeling rather smug.
“So, we meet here Friday afternoon. I’ll get Cannon, Griller, Bank and Vortex to help…”
“Why Vortex?” I ask.
Marcia laughs, “He’s the best with a knife, and whatever we need cut he’ll have it done fast. Oh, and Saddle…” Giving a look at Bri, “Can he keep Breaker out of the way so he sees nothing before he arrives on Saturday?”
Whack steps up to the table and gives us all a grin. “I’ll make sure Breaker and Saddle are out of the way.” He gives Bri a look that says he understands why she’s pissed off with Saddle, then continues. “Now, let me see your completed plans.”
Whack shoves a seat next to me, and I scoot my seat over a little.
“I love this spooky type of feel to it,” Whack smirks.
“Best idea you could have had, and I would not have allowed you to do all that frilly shit with bows and stuff in pink and blue, like one of those baby showers. Or even glitter everywhere. I mean it’s cheap as shit nowadays. ”
We all look from one to another, and I’m keeping quiet because I’ve seen some weddings where they have glittery shit, as the bikers always call it, and it looked classy.
“So, we all good Whack?” Bri asks while placing all our plans back into the folder.
“Yeah, all good. I’ll get the boys to help so it doesn’t take too long. Saddle and Breaker will be banned until Saturday morning. I’m ready to say the words, Molly.”
“Thanks for all of this, Whack.” I lean over and kiss his cheek right before Breaker walks over and hauls me out of my seat. ‘Mine.’ He mumbles, and I roll my eyes and state loudly, ‘Neanderthal.’ Whack laughs as he walks away.
Bri is ignoring Saddle each time he tries to speak to her. I keep my eyes averted because it’s painful to watch him trying to worm his way back into her good books. How he thought allowing a club girl to paw all over him was not going to cause an issue, I don’t know.
“I have to collect the dresses. Are you two coming?” I ask as I watch Breaker walking back over to the bar.
“Yes,” Bri says and steps away from Saddle not even giving him the time of day. He sighs and walks back over to where Breaker is leaning on the bar watching what is happening.
Neil wanders over and gives me a chin lift. “I’ll drive you over and wait outside.”
“Thank you, Neil,” I reply. Neil is such a brilliant prospect, and I hope he’ll become a brother when the time comes. He has no family and has looked after himself since coming out of the system. He is here to belong to something, he fits, and fits well.
Walking out of the shop ninety minutes later, we are carrying our dresses in dress bags.
Bri and Marcia looked beautiful in their dresses and, being the opposite of myself we looked fantastic standing side-by-side.
Even Molly looked damp-eyed as she took photographs of us for her store showcase album.
I have to admit I’m feeling smug because this is going to be awesome.
I know it’s not your usual white or cream wedding, but we met while kidnapped and not in some romantic setting.
Back at the clubhouse we hide the dresses in Whack’s room, which is where we are going to get ready. He’s a tough man, but he is also a softie underneath. Well, when you get to know him, and he gets to see you as part of his family.
We have a quick bite to eat, and then I’m heading to the barber shop to see Thorn.
Breaker has been called away to do something for Whack, along with Griller.
I'm not gonna ask since I was told it's not my place to pry, and I don't care what they're doing as long as they're okay.
It's probably related to Ghost, considering he was called to the office before he left with Breaker and Griller.
Noah drove me to the barber shop, and he came inside, taking a seat in the shop area. I grin as I see Andy itching to get his hands on Noah’s hair. But the look Noah gave him stopped him from asking, even as his mouth had opened to do just that.
“Can I see the apartment?” I ask. Thorn, who is closest to the stairs gives me a nod and smile.
The place smells of fresh paint and cleaning fluids, but it’s a lavender smell rather than lemon. I hate the terrible lemon disinfectant smell, it’s rancid.
The apartment is stunning, and I think they have done a fantastic job of it. “Wow, I love the color you used. It’s a pastel shade of teal?”
“Yeah, we both liked it, so went with that. But when Cannon suggested we have the deep teal sofa, it just seemed to come together. We went with cream everywhere else in the room or it would have looked dark.” Thorn stands with his arms folded over his chest, and he looks nervous.
“I love it, the way you have used sheer curtains. It has kept the light coming into the room. Three large windows would look cold during winter, but the way you have them draped works well as you can drop them if you want to.” I give Thorn a look that tells him how impressed I am.
I look over the rest of the apartment, giving him all the positives I can without sounding sickly.
But they have done a fantastic job of restoring the apartment.
“The new cabinets in the kitchen are great, Thorn. The entire apartment looks fantastic, and I particularly like that you have kept it clutter-free.”
“Would you like a drink?” Thorn asks and looks a little embarrassed he hadn’t asked earlier.
“If you have a soda that would be good.” I give him a smile and take a seat on the sofa, settling back and wondering how I’m going to broach the topic of Ghost.
Once I have my soda, and Thorn has settled in the armchair that matches the sofa I might add, I decide to just go for it. “Thorn, I need you to listen to all I’m going to say without interrupting. Once I’ve said it, we can talk about it or I’ll never mention it again.”
Thorn looks at me with a slight squint to his eyes, but he gives me a nod to continue. I launch into everything that Ghost has told me, and I see the different emotions crossing Thorn's face. I witness shock, hurt, anger, and devastation, right before he leans forward and gives me another nod.
“I’ll think about what you have said, Molly.
I can’t promise anything because I’ve felt angry for so long I’m not sure I can let it go.
But I know of who you told me stole the money and ditched me.
It explains a lot too because that somebody has dodged me for years, and I’ve always wondered if I had pissed him off somehow.
Now I know it’s guilt that’s done it.” Thorn nods more to himself than to me, and I’m happy he allowed me to speak to him.
“I’ll leave it with you, Thorn. But in your shoes I would speak to Ghost, get the answers you need and then, if you decide no, then you at least have the facts.”
Thorn walks down the stairs first while explaining it’s the gentlemanly thing to do because then if I slip and fall I fall on him and not on the stairs.
“Whoever gets you, Thorn, is going to get themselves one heck of a man,” I splutter as I step away from the stairs. Of course, that has Thorn blushing slightly, and I kiss his cheek as I shout for Noah to get me back to the clubhouse.
Supper's done, and it’s a quick one as I’ve been too busy to do much.
I threw in chili when we arrived this morning, and I know the brothers like it, so I asked Marcia to do a few sides to go with it while I was speaking with Thorn.
I got the usual thank you’s from the brothers, so I am not worried about them not enjoying a quickly thrown together meal.
I’ve got a huge chunk of lamb for tomorrow, and I’m going to plaster the top of it with garlic, honey and rosemary.
If they don’t like that they can go hungry because I love it and have not had it in forever.
Bri is ignoring Saddle still, and won’t even sit next to him.
If it weren’t for the fact that he looks like death, I’d laugh at the situation.
Bri is making him pay for allowing another woman to touch him, and Marcia and I are standing firm with her because this is a lesson all of them need to learn, if or when they get an old lady.
Clearing the kitchen ready for leaving, I sigh.
Every weekend all this cooking and cleaning is tiring me out.
But I need to feed them easier so it doesn’t take much doing.
Maybe more stews that I can put in the large pan and just let simmer while I do other things.
I don’t know, but I want to clean Breaker's room because these club girls don’t know how to clean properly.
I’ve seen under the bed, and it hasn’t seen the light of day for months.
I’m going to get Breaker to pull it away from where it’s sitting so I can clean under it.
I can imagine bugs, spiders and any other creepy crawlies living under there, and I’m not laying in that bed or even having sex while it’s filthy and my imagination runs riot.
Fury walks into the kitchen as I’m standing with my back against the sink, daydreaming if I’m being honest. I look at him as he comes to a stop in front of me.
“Will you speak to Jamie while she’s on vacation?” Fury asks, and I don’t feel sorry for him at all. He’s done this to them both after all.
“No.”
Fury frowns but continues. “When she comes back will you ask her to speak to me?”
“No.”
“Molly, I can’t make things right if she won’t speak to me…”
“Can you go back in time and not sleep with the club girls? Why you call them girls, I don’t know because they are grown-ass women.
You didn’t consider what you were doing to Jamie when you did that, even though you had been having a relationship of a kind with her.
I’m not getting involved, and honestly, Fury, I can’t see her getting over this, not in this century.
” I don’t wait for a reply. I turn my back and clean the sink, although I’ve only just done it.
I hear Fury walking out of the kitchen, and I know I was harsh, but he didn’t do right by Jamie, and I saw the devastation on her face. I’m sure she loves the man, but could I live with Breaker sleeping with other women? No, of course not. I would do exactly as Jamie is doing. I would walk away.
