She tells the couple that Ma?lle will fake a pregnancy, a last attempt at IVF that would have worked.
During this time, Quentin will impregnate the surrogate cow they have chosen.
Nolwenn suggests choosing the cow that most closely resembles Ma?lle so that their future calf is the most representative of the couple.
Quentin and Ma?lle find the idea relevant.
Nolwenn, knowing that there is a last attempt at IVF, suggests to the couple that they leave it there for this evening and they will reconvene following the results of this last attempt.
The couple approves and accepts but Nolwenn feels that they have already planned on this new option which seems much more concrete and positive to them than the serious failures of the first two IVFs that they suffered.
Meanwhile, at the farm, the two Americans have already arrived and are installed, tied up and asleep in the changing rooms.
Bixente left towards the hotel he booked in Vannes, Lo?c returned home.
Gwendal and Louane have finished dinner when Nolwenn arrives at the farm.
She can't wait and goes down to discover June and Harper then goes back up for dinner, Louane having made her warm up her piece of pie.
Between two bites she recounts her meeting with the couple and its success.
Nolwenn: “In all likelihood, the third IVF will not produce anything like the first two and we should have the first client couple for a calf.”
Louane and Gwendal congratulate her while Gwendal serves her dessert. They will share the good news with Lo?c tomorrow evening before dinner with Bixente.
At the end of the dinner, Louane whispers in Nolwenn's ear with a little wink that she hasn't shaved June and Harper's pubes because she knows that Nolwenn excels at this exercise. The two girls therefore go down together to the bedside of the two Americans.
First, they go to June, who is still asleep.
Just as the photos showed, she is a beautiful, tall brunette.
Nolwenn gently rolls her onto her side to pull the zipper of her bodysuit up a bit at the back.
This allows her to free the suit's rear flaps—resting them gently on the cow's belly—and expose the diaper area.
Nolwenn undoes the snaps on the plastic cover and opens the diaper.
She spreads the beautiful cow's hind legs and takes the wet bath puff that Louane hands her.
She wets the young cow's coat, applies the lather, and shaves her with precision.
As she finishes by generously applying cream to the American cow's vulva, she explains her reasoning to Louane.
Nolwenn: "I only look at the practical side of things. Removing the excess hair makes it easier to apply cream and protect their vulvas."
Louane smiles and tells her there is no need to justify her love for tending to her cows' intimate needs—whether shaving them, changing their diapers, or bathing them.
Once the bodysuit is back in place, the two women move to the second changing room to do the same for Harper, a beautiful American cow with medium-length chestnut hair.
Louane and Nolwenn remark on the growing diversity of their herd: blondes, brunettes, and a redhead; short hair and long hair; mostly slender cows, but a few with sturdier builds.
They head back to the house and go to bed after the long day.
Friday morning finds both American cows awake.
They are the first Linebacks—a famous American dairy breed—to be welcomed into the barn.
They are led to their stalls and quickly get the lay of the land regarding what awaits them there.
Nolwenn works at her clinic in Rennes; this afternoon, she will accompany Guéna?lle to two meetings aimed at recruiting clients for their surplus breast milk.
Gwendal has been tending to his herd and working on the construction of the chalet, the framework of which is already up.
Meanwhile, Louane is looking after her herd and preparing dinner to give a proper welcome to Bixente, who is due to arrive at 8:00 PM.
Nolwenn returns from Rennes early enough to help Louane tend to the herd while Louane is in the milking parlor.
The animals are now split into two groups, as there are only five milking stalls.
Consequently, the two American Linebacks are being stimulated for the first time this evening—an experience they likely aren't enjoying very much.
At 8:00 PM, Lo?c and Bixente arrive together; Lo?c had stopped by the hotel to pick up his friend. Lo?c introduces Nolwenn to Bixente, as she hadn't been there the previous evening during the Basque man's brief visit. Everyone gathers on the terrace for drinks.
Louane raises her glass to the Brittany–Basque Country partnership, and everyone joins in the toast. Drinks are followed by the meal. Bixente explains the issues facing the Basque Country to the Bretons.
Bixente: "We have a beautiful region, nestled between the sea and the mountains, but it was discovered too quickly by people from Paris, Bordeaux, and Toulouse, among others. As long as it was just the French, it was more or less bearable, but now there are so many foreigners—Europeans, Americans,
Australians; they’re coming from everywhere. Young Basques can no longer afford to live in their own homeland."
Lo?c: "What Bixente is describing has been affecting his region for longer than ours; what is just starting to happen to us is something they’ve been experiencing full-force for over ten or fifteen years now."
Bixente: "Just like back home, I imagine, there are people drawn to our landscapes—and our culture—who want to integrate and take part in local life. For them, there’s no problem; we welcome them gladly. But as you’ve surely gathered,
not all our visitors share that attitude—take those two American women I brought you, for instance. We don’t have a reputation for violence like our Corsican friends, who took a more radical approach to the issue by blowing up holiday homes. Still,
I hope—without us ever claiming responsibility for it—that a few tourists going missing in our region will dampen the enthusiasm of these invaders a little."
To confirm Bixente's words, Lo?c indicates that the latter is largely ready to continue his deliveries of cows, he has all possible and imaginable breeds.
Louane: “Thank you Bixente for this collaboration, it’s interesting for us to have a wide diversity of profiles as Lo?c certainly explained to you. Would you like to visit our stable? ?
Bixente: “Don’t see it as a lack of interest, but I don’t prefer it. I know your project but I would deny it with the fiercest conviction that I had any knowledge of it if I were questioned about it. So I want to know as little as possible, only the goal interests me and I share it fully.”
The four partners understand the position of the young Basque and we end the meal with a kouign Amann.
Louane: “It’s the Breton equivalent of your Basque cake, but lighter”
Bixente: “Lighter, I'm not sure, I see it's dripping with butter and sugar but it looks delicious. I love regional specialties in cooking and I’m always curious to taste everything.”
After dinner, Bixente thanks his hosts and leaves with Lo?c. He will take advantage of the weekend to discover the region. He promised new arrivals of cows in the coming weeks.
The weekend passes quickly and a new week begins. Quentin and Ma?lle will be determined on the result of the third and final IVF this Wednesday. Everyone is at work, including Lo?c who has a lead in northern Brittany for a new cow.
Nolwenn receives Quentin and Ma?lle at his office Thursday morning.
They received the negative results from the third IVF the day before in the morning.
She finds a couple much less dejected than they should be after such news and interprets this as a positive signal in relation to the proposal she made to them last week at their home.
She must close their medical and administrative file with them for the clinic and social security, nothing that normally enthuses.
It is also supposed to give them addresses of adoption associations and contact details for the government internet portal on these subjects.
The paperwork done, Ma?lle asks Nolwenn if it is possible to meet again with her at their home to continue the exchange from last week, the sooner the better, she specifies.
Nolwenn offers to see them the next evening at 6:00 p.m. like last week, which the couple accepts.
The next day, Nolwenn rings the doorbell of the couple's house. She is greeted by a couple who are visibly very impatient to know the details of Nolwenn's proposal. The cider is uncorked and the bowls served, which is a good sign.
Ma?lle immediately asks Nolwenn to address the financial issue.
Ma?lle: “We don’t want to project ourselves into this GPA if we don’t have the means. We have an idea of the price but your solution may be more expensive, you need to tell us very clearly.”
Nolwenn: “We have a price of 75,000 euros”.
The figure does not seem to destabilize the couple, Nolwenn continues.
Nolwenn: “However, we offer a preferential rate for native Bretons and you fall into this category, so we will be at 50,000 euros. 10,000 euros at conception then possible monthly payments or a balance upon delivery of the calf”
Ma?lle: “You can sue Nolwenn, Quentin and I are relieved to know that it is within our means.”
Nolwenn feels that it is Ma?lle who has the leadership in the couple on this subject but she must be careful not to neglect Quentin.
Nolwenn: “Our cows live in a beautiful and comfortable stable. They are fed with products from the farm which is organic. Milk, various cereals, free-range chicken in the form of croquettes. They are in individual stalls and go out into the meadow every day.
They are cleaned every day and showered thoroughly every two days. They produce milk for the calves which are not fed on the udders, listen to music including traditional Breton songs. They are young, healthy with beautiful rumps and udders.”
Nolwenn notices Quentin wince slightly at this description and asks if something bothers him.
Quentin: "I’d like our future calf to get used to the taste of fish. Is it possible for the cow we choose to be fed fresh fish-based feed?"
