Morgane: "Isn't there something you're missing?" "I don't think I saw a bull in this herd? With all these gorgeous cows—some of whom are clearly in heat—it’s a waste, isn't it?"
Louane and Nolwenn watch as Morgane begins to undo the snaps on Abbie’s plastic pants, one by one and with extreme slowness. Abbie lifts her head as far as her restraints allow to watch Morgane’s movements.
Morgane: "For a beautiful cow like you, Abbie, it must be terribly frustrating, right?"
Morgane has undone all the snaps; she gently opens the plastic pants and lays the front section—along with the anatomical pads—down between the young cow’s spread legs.
She runs a finger over her vulva, tracing its entire outline, still moving very slowly.
She then moves up to pinch the cow’s clitoris between two fingers; the cow rears up but cannot stop Morgane’s fingers from teasing that highly sensitive spot.
Morgane: "It’s still cool this morning, but I get the feeling you’re getting a bit hot, Abbie. I’m cruel to talk to you about bulls when you seem so cruelly deprived. But since I’m a nice girl, I have a surprise for you."
She leaves the edge of the bed where she was sitting, removes the plastic pants and the two anatomical pads from beneath Abbie’s rump for good, and—still speaking English—turns toward the bathroom.
Morgane: "Yann, I think our cow needs your services." Morgane stands by the bedside as Yann appears from the bathroom. He is naked, wearing only a large bath towel knotted at his waist. He gives his wife a lingering kiss on the lips and simply says, "Thank you."
As Abbie tugs desperately at her restraints, Yann slides over her and unties her towel; he caresses her left breast with his right hand and nibbles at her left ear.
He shifts his hips, positions himself between his cow’s hind legs, and clearly finds his way to her vulva quickly.
Morgane cheers him on—surprisingly, this time in Breton, a language both Nolwenn and Louane understand and speak.
Although the two girls find themselves in a somewhat awkward voyeuristic position, they cannot tear their eyes away from the screen; they are witnessing the first mating of a cow from the herd.
They know full well that there will be a "before" and "after" regarding this pivotal moment.
The mating is quick but appears successful.
Following Nolwenn’s advice—which Morgane reiterates—Yann remains inside his cow for a good while after ejaculating.
She is young, healthy, and—by all accounts—in her prime ovulation window; there is no contraception involved, and the sperm is high-quality, judging by the clinic’s tests.
There is a strong chance, then, that the mating will prove successful and lead to a pregnancy.
Yann eventually withdraws and heads back to the bathroom.
Louane and Nolwenn watch as Morgane picks up her phone.
Louane mutes the computer sound before Nolwenn answers and confirms to Morgane that she can come back in.
Louane reminds Nolwenn that she isn't supposed to have seen what she just saw, and Nolwenn nods, looking focused.
When she rejoins Morgane, Yann is in the shower. The young woman is all smiles.
Morgane: "Everything went really well; I’m so happy. I can’t wait to hear what Yann thinks—he’s in the shower right now."
Nolwenn: "I’m delighted for you both. Just remember, this is only a test mating—no pressure regarding the result, just pleasure for you, I hope."
Morgane confirms. Nolwenn retrieves the diaper, slides it under Abbie’s hindquarters, and fastens it.
She frees Abbie’s hind legs, then—with Morgane’s help—pulls the suit back up over her hips and onto her front legs.
Finally, the two women remove the tape and the cloth from her mouth and put a halter with a bit back on the young cow, who is a bit shaken by the experience.
Nolwenn and Morgane help her down from the bed and return her to her stall.
Louane brings the couple’s breakfast down, sets it on the blanket in the meadow, and—along with Nolwenn—tends to the rest of the herd a little later than usual.
Abbie keeps her halter on; there will be plenty of time to remove it once all the cows have been milked and the herd learns that Abbie has been bred.
No trip to the pasture for now—not while Morgane and Yann are having breakfast.
Milking is over, and the young couple gathers their things and follows Nolwenn back up to the house.
Louane is waiting for them there and offers them one last coffee, which they accept.
They have time to spare, as both of them have taken the day off work.
Louane asks for their feedback.
Morgane: "It went very well for me, and Yann fully shares my impression of what we discussed over breakfast."
Yann: "I’m going to get an earful from my wife, but I almost hope the test mating isn't successful so we can do it again during the next heat cycle."
Yann’s remark makes Louane and Nolwenn smile, but at least he enjoyed the experience.
Morgane smiles: "That’s a comment that’s going to cost you at least one nice dinner out. Of course, we’d be very happy if this test mating worked, but I have no objection to trying again if necessary—and I do mean *if necessary*, darling!"
Once they finish their coffee, the young couple takes their leave.
Nolwenn goes down to remove Abbie’s halter and bit.
The cow seems furious, but Nolwenn pays it no mind; it is natural for a cow to be bred—there is no debate about that.
Louane remains glued to her computer, scrutinizing the reactions of the young cow that has just been bred.
After a moment of standing motionless, the cow rises onto the tips of her hooves to communicate with a stall neighbor, Alma.
The two cows whisper, making it impossible for Louane—now joined by Nolwenn—to hear what they are saying.
Do they suspect they might be overheard, or is this a new mode of communication for them?
Alma seems to react strongly to Abbie’s confidences.
She, too, was visited by a couple, and at this precise moment, she likely suspects that she might soon be bred as well.
Abbie moves to the other side of the stall to exchange news with Isla, her neighbor on the left.
Isla listens intently, and then the cows pass the word along, one after another, about what has just happened to Abbie.
Isla mentions it to Harper over the partition separating their stalls, then Harper tells Erin, while Alma does the same with Sarah.
Erin is tasked with passing the information across the aisle so Maureen, opposite her, can hear it.
She stands facing her stall door and taps it three times with her hoof.
This is clearly the signal to talk; Maureen also stands up, leaning against her stall door to hear Erin’s message.
Louane and Nolwenn discover the new way information travels—replacing the shouting used previously.
Maureen speaks to Carla; Carla passes the word along the left side of the aisle to June, who speaks to Freja.
Freja passes the message to Anneliese, who completes the chain with Hilda.
Since Hilda is opposite Sarah—and had already received the information from her—the loop is closed.
There are no long conversations like before; the cows have changed tactics, with the background music masking their whispers even more effectively.
Louane realizes they will have to use a ruse—and likely ask Gwendal to install discreet microphones in the pasture—to better eavesdrop on the conversations. If the cows are hiding to communicate, it isn't a very good sign; it’s a situation to watch.
The next morning, Ma?lle is back at the farm to tend to Alma.
Like Nolwenn, she can’t help but notice the young cow’s change in attitude; she is far less cooperative.
Nolwenn explains to Ma?lle that Alma’s stall neighbor was bred yesterday, and Alma likely suspects that Ma?lle’s presence means her own turn is coming soon. Ma?lle understands perfectly.
Ma?lle: "Then again, isn't getting bred just part of being a cow?"
Nolwenn agrees, and the two women finish changing the young cow’s diaper.
Monday: Ma?lle and Quentin are expected at the farm this evening.
Like Morgane and Yann last week, they will spend the night in the chalet before Alma's breeding tomorrow morning.
The young cow is tense when she sees them through the bars of her stall door.
Abbie clearly has nothing to hide about what happened to her and so Alma knows full well what to expect.
It's a little cool for a picnic outside, so it's in the chalet that the couple eats then goes to bed early in preparation for the next day.
Nolwenn remembers the very precise way in which Ma?lle projected herself onto this projection.
The two women iron out the last details and arrange to meet early the next morning.
With the experience of the first covering, Nolwenn gives some advice to Ma?lle.
Alma will not be tied to the bed like Abbie was, so she and Quentin will have to be careful of the hooves.
It would be unfortunate if Quentin received a poorly placed hoof kick at the fateful moment.
Ma?lle is aware of this, but the gentle woman that she is can easily switch to the strict teacher for whom she has a reputation.
Tuesday: The next morning Ma?lle and Nolwenn bring Alma to milking before the rest of the herd then bring her into the bathroom to shower her.
She puts his diaper back on as a precaution, then his overalls.
It is an understatement to say that Alma is asked to then take the corridor on the right towards the exit to the meadow but today towards the chalet.
Quentin is waiting for them at the door.
The sailor, force of nature, does not go into detail.
He takes the young cow in his arms and takes her to the bed.
She is now on all fours on the bed. Quentin literally sits on his back, blocking his front legs from his legs.
All Ma?lle has to do is pull up the zipper on the cow's back and then take off her suit on both hind legs.
She removes the diaper which Nolwenn collects.
Feeling the couple at ease, she leaves the chalet.
Next she was going to watch it at home on the computer with Louane.
With the diaper removed, Ma?lle undresses completely before sitting on the bed in front of Alma's face immersed in the thickness of the duvet.
