Butterfly: Code blue wings
Volume 1 Chapter 1 - The Butterfly After the Storm
The morning air was still heavy with the scent of antiseptic and coffee.
Cindy adjusted her bag on her shoulder as she left the hospital, her tired eyes half-closed from another twelve-hour shift in the emergency room.
The sun had just risen, spilling golden light across the streets of Manila.
The sound of traffic and vendors filled the air, yet Cindy felt oddly detached from it all—her mind still lingering on the patients she couldn't save that night.
"Just one hour of sleep and I'll be fine..." she murmured to herself.
Her steps were slow, the exhaustion almost numbing her. That's when a flicker of color caught her eye—a butterfly, fluttering gently above a patch of morning dew. Its wings shimmered in the light, painted in soft shades of blue and gold.
Cindy smiled faintly.
"So free... unlike me."
Without realizing it, she followed the butterfly's gentle dance—across the street, her eyes fixed on its beauty.
And in that single moment—
BEEP! BEEP!
A truck horn blared.
Her heart skipped.
The light turned white.
And everything went silent.
?
When Cindy opened her eyes, the world was vast, bright, and impossibly strange. Trees towered above her like skyscrapers, and the grass swayed like a green ocean. Her body felt weightless... delicate.
"What... happened?" she whispered.
Only it wasn't her voice that came out.
It was the flutter of wings.
Her reflection in a pool of water made her heart freeze.
A small butterfly with shimmering blue wings stared back.
"No way... I—I'm a butterfly?!"
She tried to move, and her wings obeyed.
The sensation was strange, like breathing with your entire body.
She lifted herself into the air, wobbling at first, then steadying as instinct took over.
Below her stretched a forest, lush and alive, filled with sounds she couldn't recognize—birds that glowed faintly, lizards with multiple eyes, and something roaring in the distance.
"This... isn't Earth," she realized, dread creeping in.
Suddenly, a shadow passed overhead—a hawk-like creature, but its eyes gleamed red and its wings shimmered with mana. Cindy darted downward in panic, hiding beneath a leaf.
Her heart raced.
"I'll die here... I'll really die if I don't do something."
Trembling, she stayed still until the predator vanished into the clouds. Only then did she dare to breathe.
She didn't understand how she got here, or why. But one thing was certain—this world was dangerous.
Monsters. Magic. The unknown.
And she was just... a butterfly.
"Okay... Cindy," she whispered to herself, trying to stay calm. "You survived ER night shifts... you can survive this."
A small glow pulsed within her chest—warm and gentle. A translucent window appeared before her eyes, written in glowing letters.

Her wings glimmered faintly with mana. She blinked.
"A status window? Like in an RPG...?"
Maybe this was how she could survive. Maybe... she could evolve.
As the forest wind carried her upward, Cindy looked toward the endless horizon. The world was strange and dangerous—but also beautiful.
"Fine," she said softly, determination burning in her tiny heart. "If this world wants to crush me, I'll find a way to fly above it."
And with a flap of her wings, the reincarnated nurse began her new life—
as the smallest being in a world of swords and magic.
