My eyes flutter open and I lay here letting them adjust. My head feels like a battering ram hit me, and my whole body hurts. I hear a door open and sit up a little too quickly, causing myself to get dizzy. The light flicks on and I close my eyes because it’s hurting my head.

“Can you turn off the light?” I ask before I open my eyes again. The man turns towards me and fucking hell he’s the most beautiful guy I’ve ever seen.

“I brought you something to eat,” he tells me then someone hands him a tray. He closes the door and carries it over to me. Laying it over my lap, I fully take him in. Blonde hair to his shoulders, crystal blue eyes, and an athletic body.

“Thank you,” I whisper, and he lifts his head, smiling. I look down at what was brought to me, and my stomach growls. Scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, and orange juice. I pick up a piece of bacon and take a bite, savoring the taste, then wash it down with orange juice.

“A doctor checked you out while you were unconscious,” he tells me as I take a bite of scrambled eggs. I look up at him, leaning on the dresser.

“I guess thank you,” I say a little roughly, and he pinches the bridge of his nose. I don’t like the fact that someone seen my body when I was vulnerable.

“You have bruising near your ribs, bruising on most of your body, and you have a concussion from the head wound. Our doctor for the clubhouse is a female. So no male saw your body,” he explains and now I feel a little bad.

I finish my eggs and orange juice then set the tray aside.

Memories of what happened come back and I feel like I’m going to throw up.

“Thank you for bringing me in. You could have just let me lay out there,” I reply and finally take a seat in the chair next to the bed.

He runs his hand through his hair, and I get a good look at him.

He’s not overly muscled, but has an athletic build, tattoos down his arms, a baby face with a five o'clock shadow. He’s incredibly sexy.

“Who did this to you?” he asks, and I sigh, looking down at my lap. Some things are still fuzzy, and I lay my head back against the pillow.

“I was with my boyfriend, or so I thought. He took me to a warehouse, saying he had to pick something up. That’s all I remember,” I explain, and he nods.

“His name?” he asks and I close my eyes, trying to remember what happened after, but nothing.

“Chance Reynolds. We haven’t been together long,” I tell him as he stands from his seat then grabs the tray next to me.

“Get some more rest. I will be back in a little bit to check on you,” he says as he exits the room. I stare at the door for a few minutes before I close my eyes thinking of the man that just left the room.
