A week later…

We’ve been searching for a week for Chandra and have come up empty handed.

I’m pissed and my heart is aching for her.

I know I messed up, but it wasn’t my fault.

Someone put drugs in my beer before I passed out in my room, and I know exactly who did it.

We questioned all the other whores except Misty.

She hasn’t been here since Chandra disappeared.

“I think I may have found her,” Fury announces to everyone at the table. We’ve been at it awhile and I’ve gotten little to no sleep since we started this a week ago. I can’t stop thinking about what they are doing to her.

“Where?” I ask as he sets his laptop in front of me. I look to see a female who looks a lot like the woman who stole my heart. She’s talking to a pudgy, middle aged man in a hotel lobby. She rubs his chest and then laughs.

“Fuck!” I roar, standing from my chair and tossing it across the room. It hits the wall, leaving a massive hole in it, then hits the floor. I’m too late. They’ve gotten to her. I just lost the woman I love and planned a life with.

I am once again being sold on a stage, in a large room, to the highest bidder.

I never thought that this would be my life.

I don’t want to do it, but days had passed since I went missing.

I’ve realized that he isn’t coming for me.

He’s forgotten me. I look out at all the filthy, disgusting men in the seats before me.

I have been lucky that the men who have bought me only wanted to talk. Nothing more.

“First bid is $10,000 dollars,” Chance announces, and two men put their bids in. One is an older man about 60, shriveled skin and a sunken face appearance. The other, about 40s, good looking with a muscular athletic build.

“$20,000!” Chance yells out, and the good-looking one raises his hand again, but the other doesn’t. Must have gone over his spending allowance. Most of these men are in high places and have wives. Why I get ones that only want to talk and have companionship.

“Going once, going twice!” he yells , then bangs his gavel, signaling that I’ve just been sold. A man comes out to escort me into the back where the man who just bought me will meet us.

“She’s all yours. As long as you like, just don’t rough her up,” he tells the man as I’m handed over. He gently takes my arm and leads me down the hallway and out the rear door. Chance doesn’t want people to see what’s going on. I’m put into a van, then the door is closed.

“Why aren’t we moving?” I meekly ask, and someone in the front seat turns towards the back. As soon as I see his face, my heart starts beating rapidly and my stomach gets butterflies. It’s Buzz.

“Hello beautiful,” he says, and I smile. He’s come for me. I am finally free of Chance once again.

“What took you so long?” I ask, and he smiles. I could never get over that smile.

“Hard to find you. Men are inside taking care of business. Let’s get you somewhere with a warm bath and a bed,” he states, and I sit back against the wall.

I thought he had forgotten about me and decided he really didn’t want me.

I should have believed him when he told me that I was the only one he wanted.

I was hurt and not thinking straight. I didn’t know she was a part of the ring.

I had also been hurt by another man before meeting him.
