Chapter Four
Camila looked around for her sisters. She saw them peeking through a window and rolled her eyes. “Come sit. It’s the perfect day for lemonade.”
They both sat, but their eyes continued to scan the area.
“Who’s Lucia?” Aubrey asked.
“She’s our cook. She’s been with the family since my husband was born.”
She hid a smile at the anger that flushed their skin.
They hated the fact that she was living the life they both wanted more than anything.
She knew her family liked to pretend that they were rich, but she knew they struggled.
Maybe if her sisters moved out or, God forbid, got jobs to help with the bills, it might help.
Camila filled the glasses. “Try some of the cookies. Lucia loves to bake, and everything she makes is wonderful.”
They sat in silence for a few minutes.
“You know it would be nice if you helped our parents out,” Penelope said.
Camila knew this was coming. “How?”
“Maybe give them money. You have enough of it.”
“It’s not my money to give. But tell me why they need help?”
“They’re both thinking of retiring soon, and they don’t have a lot to live on when they do,” Aubrey said.
“But why? They both have good jobs.” Camila bit her cheek at the expressions on their faces. She asked another question when they didn’t answer. “You guys aren’t still living with them, are you?”
“Yes, what’s the big deal?” Aubrey asked in a snarky voice.
“It’s just that you’re what ... thirty-two and Penelope is thirty-three. Isn’t that a bit old to live with your parents? At least you have jobs and help with the bills, right?”
Penelope got a hard glint in her eyes. The look she got before she hurt Camila. Camila stiffened but instantly relaxed when Smithy, the gardener, walked around the corner.
“Oh, my, Miss Camila. Is it okay if I work right here? I have to get these planted before they droop any more.”
“Of course, Smithy,” Camila said. She guessed Drake was watching over her as much as he could with help from the servants. “Smithy, these are my sisters, Penelope and Aubrey.” She looked at her sisters. “Guys, this is Smithy. He’s the one who made this backyard beautiful.”
“With your help, Miss.”
Camila smiled at the old man. “I enjoy every bit of it.”
Smithy looked at both and nodded before turning away.
From the look on his face, Camila guessed he’d been told about the situation.
They were silent for a moment. “You’ve had a long day. Do you want to go up to your rooms to rest before dinner?”
“We’d like to walk around and check everything out.”
Camila didn’t like the sound of that. “My husband wouldn’t like that. I can walk you around a bit. There’s a pool you can swim in.”
Their eyes lit up.
“I’d like that,” Aubrey said.
“Let me show you. Did you bring suits?” Camila asked.
They shook their heads.
“That’s okay. We have several you can borrow.”
She led the way through the house, stopping if one of her sisters asked a question about a room or a piece of art. She pushed through the frosted glass door and into a warm room.
“Oh, hell, yeah, you have a hot tub?” Penelope asked.
“Yes. You’re free to use that if you’d like. I have some things to do...”
“Yeah, you probably don’t want to get into a bathing suit in front of us. It would highlight how fat you really are,” Penelope said snidely.
Camila kept her face blank. “Enjoy the pool. Dinner will be at 6:00. Please don’t be late. I showed you the room where we’re eating. It’s a bit more formal than what we usually use.”
“Oh, aren’t we hoity-toity now?” Aubrey obnoxiously.
“I will see you at dinner.” She turned back before leaving. “My husband won’t be happy if he finds out you were snooping, and he always finds out.” She left before they could say anything.
Camila was supposed to look at a few of the horses, but she wanted a bath more than anything.
It would help ease the tension that had built in her since her sisters had pulled up, as well as shed the layer of foul revulsion they always made her feel.
First, she wanted to read over the papers her sisters brought her to sign.
She was reading over them a second time when the door opened, and her husband walked in. She immediately relaxed.
“Hello, love. How are things going?” he asked as he walked around the desk, lifted her up, sat, and then set her on his lap.
“Good,” she said, trying to sound positive.
He used his fingers to tip her head his way. “Don’t lie to me, little sub.”
She exhaled. “It’s hard being around them. Everything they say is negative or hurtful. I had hoped I’d never see them again. I regret letting them come.”
“After they leave, you won’t have to ever see them again. What are they up to now?”
“Swimming. I told them to be down to the dining room at 6:00, but they’ll be late,” she said and leaned against Drake’s chest.
“They’ll regret it.”
She smiled at him, and then her eyes slowly closed as his head descended. When his lips touched hers, it felt like her world exploded, and her body immediately started to hum with desire.
He lifted his head. “We have to stop, little sub, or I’ll have you laid across the desk again.”
She giggled. He did love to drape her over his desk and fuck her cunt or ass, and he’d even let her suck him for a bit before he pulled her off.
They spent a lot of time there. This room was one of her favorites, with the dark paneling on all four walls, a small stone fireplace on one side, and shelves with hundreds of books on two of them.
They’d spent many hours in it with her reading and him doing paperwork, or watching TV, or having hot sex.
“Is that a bad thing?” she asked and grinned.
He chuckled. “No. Not at all, but we don’t have the time to do what I need from you.”
“What?” she asked.
“I’m going to fuck your ass tonight. I know you’re feeling a bit lost or unsettled, and I want to fix it by bonding that way.”
Camila shivered. She loved it when he buttfucked her. She always felt closer to him somehow. Perhaps it was because she had given him her full submission at the time. “Yes.”
He smiled at the way she enthusiastically said it. “Let’s read over this and see what we can understand. I’m going to scan and fax it to Jeremiah to look over.”
She nodded. She liked her husband’s friend. He was a damn good lawyer and a wonderful person.
They were silent for a minute as they read. When he was finished, he lifted his head and sighed. “I’m not a lawyer, but some of this doesn’t make sense.”
“That’s what I thought, too,” she said.
“Let’s not worry about it right now. It won’t take long for Jeremiah to read over it and give us his opinion.”
“Good.”
“How about a bath before dinner?” he suggested.
She smiled at him. “With you?”
“As much as I want to say yes, I want to get this to Jeremiah as soon as possible.”
He chuckled when she pouted. “Don’t worry, love. I’ll be riding you hard later in the pool.”
Her eyes widened. She loved it when they swam together. He was always so playful.
She leaned up and kissed him quickly before trying to push herself up off his lap, but his hold on her tightened, so she sat calmly and waited. She knew he was reminding her of his dominance over her. He finally helped her up with a wide smile.
“Thank you,” she said.
“You’re welcome. I want you to relax in a bath. I already took a shower. I had to, because I was distracted by thoughts of my beautiful wife, and I somehow landed in a pile of horse shit.” He waited until she stopped laughing. “I’ll meet you in the dining room at 6:00.”
“That sounds good,” she said, waved, and walked out.
It took a huge amount of effort to walk away from him when all she wanted to do was crawl back in his lap, where she felt safe.
But she wouldn’t because she didn’t want him to think of her as weak.
She’d been through a lot and came out stronger, so she could deal with her sisters for a few hours.
