18. Beast
Chapter Eighteen
BEAST
I listened to Mattea kick and scream while throwing things at the door I had locked her in.
I hated to be on some straight bully shit with my kids, but she didn’t have any more chances at keeping fucking secrets when it came to her wellbeing.
Her and my other two kids were living life as if I didn’t put my own issues to the side and be the best father I could.
Feeling like you were losing control over your kids as they became adults was the hardest part of parenting to me.
I tried to let them have their freedom and live their life how they saw fit after Kayori had told me that I was going to run them far away from me.
I felt like I had their best interest at heart.
I only had two kids left that actually listened and stayed on the right track.
It was my twin boys Mi’air and Ki’air. All them little niggas cared about was basketball and video games.
They were lazy when it came to chores around the house, but they followed my rules and had no plans on leaving home soon.
Their biggest dream was to make it to the NBA and so far, they were on the right track.
My other three were different, Mattea and Matthew were close and very secretive.
I got a hint about my daughter Kachella, every time she walked out the door, she was dressed in some hoe shit. Like she wanted to be a city girl so bad and didn’t know what all that shit came with.
“Baby, you can’t lock her in there like that, she’s grown.” Kayori my beautiful wife stood in the hallway. She looked sad, and I hated that shit. We couldn’t properly live our lives now that our kids were grown because we were constantly stressed the fuck out about what they were into.
“It’s for her own good Juicy.” I eyed her thick thighs and licked my lips as she rolled her eyes.
What I loved most about looking at my wife was her scars that decorated the right side of her face.
It gave her heavy sex appeal to me, and I hated when she would put makeup on covering the sexiest part of her.
“I won’t leave her in here all day, but I don’t want her to leave Juicy.
Ream Powers called me on behalf of her. Our daughter into some street shit, its only one family I know with the last name Powers.
He gotta be tied to that high-powered bitch Rellianah, they try to play nice but them muthafuckas is a part of the fuckin’ Mafia.
I can’t have my firstborn out here on bullshit!
I can’t lose her.” My heart slammed into my chest. I couldn’t even picture Mattea into some illegal shit.
I was done with the streets, and I made that sacrifice for my kids.
I thought by my kids being secretive and going weeks without communicating with us meant they have involved with someone.
Like they had been dating and didn’t want me in their business.
I tried to respect that shit because I knew they were now grown.
“What time is Dr. Scott getting here?” I asked. Dr. Scott was actually my therapist she became close to this family over decades ago. She helped me bring all my split personalities into one and accept who I was. I tried to have Mattea talk to her, but she hated her for no damn reason.
“She should be here soon.” Kayori closed in on me and started to caress my shoulders while standing on her tippy toes.
That was her way of trying to calm me down.
I heard another item crash against the door Mattea was in and hung my head again.
My heart started to beat wildly, and I could feel my anger being triggered.
Pinching the bridge of my nose, I counted down in my head and tried to will myself to remain calm.
“Go get my medicine Juicy and I will go in there and talk to her.” I sighed.
I had no choice but to let her go if she didn’t want the help.
With Mattea’s condition, she really didn’t need to live alone.
I granted her that to show her, I wasn’t trying to treat her like she was handicapped.
My mother did that shit to me, treated me like a mentally sick fuck.
Always dosed me up with medications and forcing me to see doctors twice or maybe three times a week if she didn’t want to deal with me.
I was trying to do things differently with Mattea but she was making things hard.
After taking my medication, I sat on the floor next to the door and got myself under control.
After fifteen minutes of hearing Mattea crying, I stood to my feet and unlocked the door from the outside and entered.
Seeing her bawled up on the bed with her knees to her chest crying hard it hurt me to my core. I hated feeling helpless as a parent like I was making matters worse.
“Tea, I’m trying baby. I’m trying to be the best dad I can be.
You keep having these bad episodes away from home.
You make me feel like I’m failing you as a father.
” A lump formed in the middle of my throat as I took a seat on the edge of the bed next to her.
I grabbed at her, and she sat up and got right in my arms like she used to do when she was a kid.
We both sat quiet in a tight embrace as she cried lowly.
“I don’t know what to do Tea, I hate to even make you feel like this. I don’t like locking you up either but damn what you got going on out in the streets tied to Rellianah son?” I looked down at her wild curly hair.
“You don’t have to do anything dad this is me.” She sat up out of my embrace and stood to her feet.
“It’s not your fault why I do what I do, I can’t help it because I love what I do.” Her tears was starting to dry up and now a different assertive person stood before me.
“I’m a high-paid assassin dad, I love killing sick mother fuckers that harm and do foul shit.
” Pacing in front of me she reached in her pants pocket and pulled out her pack of cigarettes.
I cringed when she sparked one and the smell started circulating throughout the room.
I personally felt like she picked up the nasty habit from my mom.
“Killing people? Really Tea? That family is tied to the Mafia. Suppose you make one wrong move then they come after you. I won’t stop at anything to kill anyone that’s after my kids.
” I didn’t have as many street soldiers anymore.
My main focus was the legit companies that I ran with my partner Stone was doing so good I no longer needed niggas paying up small percentages of what I passed over to them.
I was a hundred percent legit with clean money.
I was rich but still budgeted my money. Kids didn’t realize how they could drag their parents into some bullshit behind them.
“I can’t stop you, although I can try. I wished my momma would have at least attempted to care for a nigga when I hit the streets as a young nigga trying to be accepted and loved by something.
What I will tell you Tea is that shit ain’t right.
You too pretty to be out here on top of big buildings killing people.
” We both chuckled as I tried to picture my daughter in some assassin gear with a sniper.
“Dad, I don’t do that kind of shit.” She tittered.
“Well, I can’t say I’m happy with what you choosing to do but I know you my child and you gon’ still do it no matter what I say.
I just feel a little better now that you opened up to me.
I know our relationship ain’t been too good after you found out the truth about your mother.
I sometimes hate that I had to end her. Just know, I tried to consider you before I even took her out.
She had to go Tea, if you never forgive me for that shit, I can’t do shit but accept it.
I won’t stop having your back and loving you though.
” Mattea mother Laquanna was a backstabbing bitch along with my ex-girlfriend Nia.
They betrayed and played with me in the worse way possible.
Violated me along with my blood brother Michael.
“I forgive you for that though dad, I just didn’t like how you lied to me about it like I couldn’t handle the truth.” She smiled and a sense of relief came over me.
“Kayori has been the best mommy a girl can ever have. I just got to figure myself out more, I don’t know why I like doing what it is I’m doing but it just fits for me right now.
” Nodding my head, I felt good even under the circumstances.
I finally got through to one of my hard-headed kids now I had to work on the other two.
“I told you, you should talk to Scott. She has been a part of the family for years now. She helped my crazy ass a lot, I know she would help you.” Mattea rolled her eyes at that.
“I don’t like that bitch, always taking pictures and shit.” She grimaced.
“She only does that to show progress and to keep for herself. She really fucks with us heavy, and she doesn’t have no family like that Tea.” If any of my kids were as ignorant as me, it would be Mattea. She was the cause of every single strain of gray hair planted on my head.
“She’s coming over, she’s probably already here. So be nice Tea.” I gave her a serious look as she sighed and rolled her eyes.
“Okay.” I stood up and hugged her and walked out leaving her to her thoughts. I needed some pussy and had to figure out a way to get through to my other knuckle-headed kids.
