19. Mattea

Chapter Nineteen

MATTEA

I had Ream heavy on my mind and didn’t like it one bit.

Even though I had an episode, and he cleared the room for me it was his heavy concern laced in his eyes that stuck to me.

He handled me with so much care and held me in his arms making me feel super secure.

I never had a man do that for me but my father.

His aggressiveness and not feeling intimidated by my strong personality is what had me drawn and thinking of him.

When I left my dad’s house, I was going to go to Hakeem house to see what he wanted the other day and to ask him for Ream’s personal number.

I felt compelled to thank him and Solo for helping me.

If Ream wanted to be an asshole that day, he could’ve let me have that episode in front of everyone.

My thoughts went back to my dad, and I felt bad for the turmoil we were all putting him through.

Every time I laid eyes on him, I could tell he was stressed out over us and that wasn’t good.

I never wanted him to question how he raised us cause him and Kayori did the best they could, and they constantly showed lots of love to all of us equally.

Walking out of the bedroom, I made my way to the front family room where I heard chatter coming from.

Now that I had my medication back on hand from going to the hospital. I felt confident and ready to leave to go take care of my business and pop up on Hakeem.

“You look so pretty Tea!” Dr. Scott smiled, I returned the kind gesture and thanked her until she held her damn phone up and snapped a picture of me. I smiled even harder as I casually pulled my Glock from the back of my pants pocket and shot her phone right out of her hands.

Stupid ass bitch! Act like she working for the feds or some shit.

The glass particles from her phone had cut up her hands as she screamed frantically.

“No fuckin’ pictures, you know that.” I stated calmly as her hands trembled.

I watched my father glare hard at me, mouthing to get the fuck out as I shrugged my shoulders.

Ignoring her cries about that stupid ass phone, I walked out the front door ignoring Kayori and my father cursing and yelling at my back.

Maybe that would teach Dr. Scott a good lesson about taking pictures of someone that had told her they didn’t like that shit.

I didn’t want to be captured on her fucking phone and wasn’t in the mood for all the fake smiles and lectures.

I did enough talking in the back room with my dad and didn’t need a damn Dr. asking me how certain shit make me feel.

I hopped in my car and made my way to Hakeem’s house.

Soon as I got out the car, I don’t know why my stomach did flips.

It felt like I was being watched. I peeped out my surroundings and made sure I had my gun with me by tapping my waist. His neighborhood was quiet but that funny nagging feeling still presumed.

There were no unusual cars parked on his street.

So, I put the funny feeling to the side for now and strutted up his driveway.

After knocking for seconds to long, I got ready to turn and leave.

My patience was too thin to be stuck outside of someone’s door waiting for them to come open.

Hakeem finally came to the door with a confused stare.

His shirt was off, and he had on joggers.

His tall lanky frame blocked his doorway, tilting my head to the side I gave him a look.

He stepped to the side slowly as I entered.

Seeing my sister sit Indian style with bruises all over her legs and arms on his couch made me draw my gun and kick the door shut.

“What the fuck going on Kachella?” I ignored Hakeem that stood with a worried expression planted on his face.

“Mattea, don’t overreact give her a chance to explain what the fuck is up and a gun is not needed so put it away,” Hakeem spoke with caution. I turned and focused on him with my gun pointed in his face now because he was raising my suspicions on what the fuck was really going on.

“Maybe, I should give you a chance to speak the fuck up. You know my patience is short and-”

“Mattea let me-” Kachella stood up as I gave her a hard glare shutting her up.

“Sit yo ass the fuck down and shut the fuck up Kachella.” My voice went in a high octave.

“As I was say, Hakeem, my patience is short.” I watched Kachella sit back down. She started biting her nails out of nervousness.

“I look at you like a brother, but that shit can change in a matter of seconds. My little sister is sitting on your fucking couch with a black eye and more bruises than I can count. She has on the shirt I bought you last Christmas. Now I ain’t all that smart, but it doesn’t take rocket science to see it’s some twisted shit going on in this bitch.

” I took my gun off its safety. “Is this the woman, you been head over hills for not telling me who had your attention? Was it my fucking sister Hakeem?”

“Reaper listen,” he started but I shook my head no. If anybody knew who much I hated a pleading muthafucka was Hakeem. I didn’t have the patience nor sanity to wait for the inevitable to happen. My trigger finger was itching and that crazy voice in my head was raging.

Shoot this mutha fucca! He been playing you this whole time while beating on your fucking sister!

I was starting to struggle with gaining control over myself.

“Yes and no Mattea.” He sadly stated and when his eyes hit the carpet, I knew that he betrayed me.

I let off a shot directly to his left shoulder knocking him off his feet.

Kachella hopped up and ran to his aid. When she struggled to place her body over my heart clenched.

She was trying to protect her abuser. I was about to end Hakeem, anger was taking over me and my vision started to become blurry from the tears welling up in my eyes.

Hakeem’s betrayal would haunt and hurt me for a long time.

“What the fuck is wrong with you Mattea! He didn’t do this to me!

My boyfriend Tre did!” she blurted out fast while still covering Hakeem.

He remained quiet but his face was etched with pain.

“Tre is a pimp and I thought he loved me! He beat and raped me plenty of times.” She sobbed harder, damn near knocking me off my feet.

My baby sister was raped and beat on? I pulled a cigarette out and sparked it, taking a seat on Hakeem’s couch as he struggled with trying to sit up.

He looked at me with sadness and I diverted my eyes off him while I silently hit my cigarette.

I heard him talk to Kachella and it sounded so lovingly.

I never heard Hakeem talk to any female like how he was talking to my sister, and I couldn’t believe it.

He told her to go get his first aid kit as he yelped and grunted trying to pull the bullet out of his shoulder. We were trained for shit like this in case we ever got shot while being on a high-profiled mission. Once he got his self under control, he placed his eyes back on me.

“Mattea, I been feeling your sister for a while, it just ended up happening. I never slept with her although I came close to doing so. I found out she was stripping at a club and would go watch her and make sure she was straight. I stopped doing that shit when I caught her doing drugs and fucking with that fake ass pimp.” He went continued talking and filled me in on everything that had taken place.

I was stunned and in shock that my sister went through all the shit that I had learned about.

I was also hurt that Hakeem didn’t tell me what the fuck Kachella was into.

I could never tell my father that his baby girl was out here stripping and getting beat and raped.

That shit would send him off the deep end and crush him worse than it was doing me.

“I got to be the one to kill him, have you looked into him,” I asked as I thought of different ways on how I was going to go about torturing this nigga.

“Yea, I’ve been looking into him even went by the address your sister gave. Nigga relocated but I know his hoes is still local. I was thinking about letting shit die down, make him feel like he got away with what he did like Kachella didn’t tell anyone.”

“I get it.” I said sitting up to ash my cigarette inside of his ashtray. Kachella walked back into the room and handed Hakeem his first aid kit. He took out the stuff he needed to stitch himself up and started the process.

“It’s been a couple of days already, go snatch three of his main hoes up and tie their ass up. First, we hit his pockets and then his hoes will lead us right to him.” I smiled. Nodding his head, Kachella looked at me like I had two heads.

“As for you, I can’t believe you would stoop so low for some money when daddy gives you anything you want.

I hope this taught you a valuable lesson.

You don’t have to worry about me snitching on you because daddy doesn’t need any more triggers.

” She nodded her head and looked relieved, but I wasn’t done.

“There are stipulations to that though Kachella. I see how this nigga Keem is talking to you and how you keep looking at him. I get it, I truly do. He saved you, so now you’re willing to risk your life for him.

” I thought back to how she used her body as protection to cover Hakeem.

“Let me tell you this though before you love a nigga, you got to love yourself and get your confidence up. You can’t go from depending on a pimp nigga to now depending on a man that sleeps with multiple women to stroke his own ego because he knows he has the power and looks to have any woman he wants.

” I looked at Hakeem as I spoke and even though he looked pissed with what I was telling my sister, he had no choice but to respect it.

“Your grown so I can’t stop you.” I used the same line my dad used on me.

“However, I want you to get in counseling talk to someone about your problems and get the proper help you need so you can see more clearly and find yourself like I’m trying to find myself.

If I find out, you not getting the proper real help you need to heal from this traumatic experience you went through then I will get our dad involved and make him lock your ass in a room like he just recently did me.

” She nodded her head up and down fast and came over to where I sat and hugged me.

I embraced her back and remained strong.

The truth was, I was crushed at what she had gone through.

My only comfort was knowing that I would avenge what had happened to her.

Letting her go, I stood to my feet and looked at Hakeem.

I didn’t know how to feel toward him. I was grateful that he helped my sister but pissed that he withheld all this information from me.

We had a hard stare-off until I broke eye contact with him choosing to not say shit else to him for the moment.

I left out his front door and made it back to my car and allowed my emotions to spill through my eye sockets.
