Epilogue

Carbon

PEYTON HAS BEEN working on her recovery over the last two months while we plan the wedding.

I wasn’t about to put marrying her off for a year.

If I had my way, we’d already be married.

However, I understood her need to recover and have the cast and brace removed before our ceremony.

So, today is finally the day I get to call her my wife and make her mine legally.

Peyton’s already my ol’ lady and wears her rag daily with pride like the rest of the ol’ ladies.

Tonight will be the first time I get to take her while she’s in her rag because we’ve been holding off on sex while her ribs healed.

I wasn’t about to put her in pain because I wanted to get my dick wet.

We have a lifetime for that and I can wait until she’s ready to have sex again.

The guys took me out for my bachelor party two nights ago while Peyton and the girls stayed at the clubhouse and got drunk.

Really drunk. We had to carry all of them home and put them to bed because none of them could walk on their own.

I’m not sure what the hell they were drinking, but it was strong as hell.

We didn’t go to the strip club because I promised Peyton I wouldn’t go there.

Instead, we went to a bar a few towns over and had a good time.

I didn’t really want to be there, but the guys refused to let me get married without doing something.

Especially Callum because he’ll be leaving soon.

My big brother is moving and I hate that he won’t be a few minutes away any longer.

Callum won’t be too far away, but far enough we won’t be able to see one another on a daily basis. It fucking sucks!

My mom, Kimber, Jennifer, Kelly, and Barb have been decorating the clubhouse since last night with the rest of the ol’ ladies.

Peyton has been banned from the clubhouse because this entire wedding is a surprise for her.

Gary and I paid for everything while the women planned it all out.

I don’t even know what the clubhouse will look like.

Or the backyard where the reception will be held.

I knew Peyton wasn’t going to want a big fuss made out of our wedding so the only ones attending will be our immediate family members and the men and women of the club.

I’m sure that’s even more people than she was anticipating but there’s nothing we can do about it now.

Kimber, Barb, and Jennifer will be standing up with Peyton.

Callum, Brick, and Knuckles will be standing with me.

Rooster is going to be our officiant. We have an entire team coming in for hair and make-up so the girls weren’t doing that when they all have to get ready for the ceremony.

All the women will be using the team and not just those who are in the wedding party.

We ordered our cake from an ol’ lady in another club who I heard is an amazing baker.

The ol’ ladies here aren’t slouches when it comes to cooking and baking.

However, I wasn’t about to have them spend their days leading up to the wedding in the kitchen.

So, I ordered the cake and it was delivered last night by members of the Wild Kings MC.

They were very respectful and congratulated us before leaving.

Gary will be walking Peyton down the aisle to me when the ceremony starts.

Caydence will be pulled in a wagon by Cedric as our flower girl while Cedric is our ring bearer.

There was no way in hell we weren’t going to include the kids in our special day when they’re part of our family.

Our children deserve to be with us instead of sitting in the seats with the rest of our guests.

So they’ll be standing up with us. Peyton and I will also be holding one of the twins as we get married.

It’s completely a family affair and perfect for us.

I wouldn’t change a single detail if you paid me all the money in the world.

The local diner will be providing the rest of the food for the reception.

I put our order in the second Peyton was discharged from the hospital so they had plenty of time to cook everything we’d need for our day.

The food is all of Peyton’s favorites so I know she’ll have plenty to eat.

And we have a few dishes for the kids because some of them are picky when it comes to food.

Not all the time, but at large events we always try to have food the kids will eat and today is no different.

“Are you ready for today?” Callum asks, walking up to me with Brick at his side.

“Been waitin’ for this day since the second I saw Peyton the first time,” I answer my brother honestly as he pulls me in for a hug.

“So fuckin’ proud of you, Matt. You’re livin’ your life how you want, have four beautiful children, and the woman you’ve been in love with for years at your side.

This is what we all want and you’ve managed to get it.

Don’t fuckin’ hurt my sister-in-law or I’ll come back here and kick your ass.

I love Peyton and I choose her side always when you’re bein’ an asshole,” Callum says, a small smile on his face even though I know he’s being dead serious right now.

“Gonna miss you guys more than I thought I would.”

“We’re gonna miss you, too. It’s been way too long since we’ve had you here, but I know this is what you need to do.

You can’t stay here because Kimber and I are selfish.

Live your life and find what you’re lookin’ for, Callum.

It’s the least you deserve,” I tell him as he steps back and looks me up and down.

“Go get in the shower to get ready. Don’t want you bein’ late for your own weddin’,” Brick says, laughter filling his voice as I take in the jeans and tank top I’m wearing.

We’re not wearing suits or anything to get married today.

Peyton didn’t want that because she wants everyone to be comfortable.

I’m still wearing jeans, but they’re brand new ones.

I’m also wearing a button-down shirt and tie that will be removed the second our pictures are done.

All the guys are wearing button-downs including Cedric.

The women will all be in dresses of their choosing and my little princess Caydence will be in a white dress similar to Peyton’s.

She wanted to match her mommy so that’s what she’s getting.

“I’m goin’ now. The girls aren’t down here yet, right?” I ask, looking around the game room we’ve been hanging out in so we don’t mess up the common room while the Prospects put the finishing touches on everything.

“Marie is the only one here. Kelly is up with Peyton and the rest of the girls as they get ready. The queen of our club is makin’ sure nothin’ goes wrong and the Prospects do the job right,” Brick informs me as I drain the last of my water and hand the bottle over to our new Prospect.

“Okay. I’ll see you both soon,” I say before leaving the room and making my way upstairs to my room to get ready.

I’m not nervous like I thought I’d be. Instead, I’m excited and ready to marry Peyton.

If I’m being honest, I’m the calmest I’ve been since Peyton came back into my life.

Maybe it’s knowing she’s going to be mine in every way possible making me feel this way.

Or maybe it’s because I know moving forward we’ll deal with everything life throws our way as a team with the club and our family at our back.

This is every single one of my dreams coming true in one damn day and I can’t wait to see my girl after being away from her for the last twenty-four hours.

***

I’m standing at the makeshift altar the Prospects built that’s now covered in vines and roses in red and blue.

They’re fake flowers we’ll be able to put in our home after the ceremony to keep part of today with us always.

Callum is right beside me while Brick and Knuckles are behind him.

Everyone is in their seats already while we wait for the girls to make their way down the aisle to us.

I’m watching the stairs when the music suddenly starts to play and I look up to find Barb at the top of the stairs followed by Kimber and then Jennifer.

They slowly descend the stairway until they’re standing on Peyton’s side of the aisle.

As soon as they’re in place, my mom appears with the kids at the bottom of the stairs.

She helps Cedric pull Caydence in the wagon while our children throw the flower petals all over the place as they giggle.

I can’t help but smile as I watch them because this is perfect.

It takes them longer than normal to get to the end of the aisle and my attention once again moves to the top of the stairs.

Gary and Peyton appear and my breath is taken away.

Tears fill my eyes as I take in my woman from head to toe.

She’s fucking radiant in this moment and it’s worth the wait to see her.

“You’re one lucky son of a bitch,” my brother whispers to me as he leans forward and rests his hand on my shoulder.

“I know,” I return, my voice trembling with emotion as I continue staring at the love of my life.

“Remember what I said about not hurtin’ her, Matt.

I’ll take her from you in a heartbeat and make sure she’s treated right if you fuck up,” Callum reminds me, a smirk on his face.

I don’t have to look to know that’s the truth because it’s who my brother is and one of his signature looks when he’s being like this.
