41. Shiloh #3
“Let me have you, Ledger, please,” I whine.
He hums, licking the space between my breasts, and with no warning, thrusts into me.
My brain short-circuits for a second as I adjust to him, and he stares at me with barely restrained desire.
I take his face between my hands and kiss him again.
“Don’t hold back for me, husband,” I rasp.
Heat, hot and bright, and thick fills me from the inside out as he rams into me, and I unravel.
My thighs clench as he ravishes me, grabbing the back of my knee, widening my legs.
The new angle tilts my axis as he pounds into me so deeply I’m lost in him.
“Look at me,” he rasps.
I struggle to open my eyes, but I obey.
“No more running from this,” he grunts, breathing heavily. “No more keeping secrets.”
He groans and my legs shake as he moves above me
I dig my heels in, grasping for him, then he stops and I sob in frustration.
“And no more wasting time pretending we’re not all in. Time is too precious, honey. I don’t want to waste another second. I am yours and you are mine. Those vows still stand till death do us part,” he says, grabbing my hands, threading his fingers through both of them, to hold them above my head.
I gasp, arching my back as pleasure coils like a spring.
He smiles and kisses me, continuing our slow, torturous pace, and I never want it to end.
Our ragged breaths blend together, and the friction between us is almost too much to handle.
A tear rolls down my cheek. “You have to come home to me. Do you hear me? You don’t have a choice,” I say between sharp breaths.
He smiles and kisses me softly. “I’ll do my best.”
“Promise me,” I beg as he rocks into me, picking up his pace.
“I don’t make promises I can’t keep,” he groans and brands his mouth to mine, effectively shutting me up.
Right as I feel the crest, he flips us.
I catch myself on his chest, and he sits up so we’re face to face. I’ve never connected to another soul the way I do to him. Nothing else matters. It’s just me and him, the sheriff and the criminal. The no-nonsense man and the girl who brings trouble wherever she goes.
“I love you,” I whisper.
He groans as we move and our foreheads fall together.
“I love you, I always will,” he grunts.
It’s that feeling of two becoming one. It’s something cliché like the melting of metals, but there’s no other way to describe it. I am his and he is mine, and that’s how it was meant to be.
“Come on, baby, let go for me,” Ledger rasps.
I sigh, kissing him again, and he moans, and the sound urges me on.
He flips us again, and our hips slap together in a desperate run to the finish line.
Ledger gently bites the soft skin of my neck, and the flicker of heat turns into an inferno, and I willingly walk into the fire.
Ledger roars and I hold on to him until our bodies slow and our hearts try to catch up.
I finally open my eyes and he’s still looking at me.
Lifting my chin, he meets me halfway, and I savor the lazy kiss as if it’s the last I’ll ever have.
I sigh and he pecks my nose before throwing himself on the bed next to me.
“That was…” I trail off. There are no words for that.
He turns his head, and I look him in the eye. He laughs, which makes me laugh. Curling up to his side, he chuckles and kisses my head.
“That good, huh?” he asks.
I slap his chest playfully. “Hey,” he mumbles.
“You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he rasps.
“Happen is an interesting choice,” I say into his chest and kiss his heart.
He chuckles.
“I’m going to have to start working out more if that’s always how it’s going to be,” I mumble.
“More? You don’t work out at all,” he says, tapping my butt.
“I’m sorry, have you carried a tray of food and drinks with one arm and speed-walked to the table? No, I don’t think you have.”
He hums. “I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen you speed-walk to any table, ever.”
“Then why do I get good tips?” I ask him.
He chuckles. “Baby, you’re hot. That’s why.”
I humph. “I’d like to think it’s because I’m great at what I do.”
He smiles and turns his head into mine, nuzzling my neck. “You are.”
“Yeah, now you’re blowing smoke up my ass,” I mumble.
“Oh, is that what we’re onto next?” he grins, and wiggles his eyebrows.
I give him a deadpan stare.
He looks at me with wide eyes, laughs, and kisses me briefly before rolling out of bed.
Smiling at the ceiling, sated, muscles loose, and the only feeling in this very second is happiness.
He comes back to clean me up, and I let him.
My chest warms like honey, and he crawls back into bed with me, pulling me to his side.
He sighs, and I tip my head back, looking at him, trying to take in every detail.
I love his mustache far too much to be healthy.
The furrow in his brow because that’s his usual face.
The tiny scar on the tip of his nose I’ve never noticed before.
The way his hands hold me tightly, as if he never wants to let me go.
I close my eyes, knowing he needs to get some kind of rest, and instead of letting myself start to think of all the what-ifs, I focus on the man who loves me, who wants me, who I belong with.
