Chapter 38 – Three Days Later #2

He lifts both of my thighs, bending them until my knees touch my chest.

“Oh, fuck, you feel so good,” he growls, hitting me with punishing strokes.

My nails claw at the floor, the need building until my entire body trembles, until I can’t hold on.

He pulls out, and I scream in protest, but suddenly his fingers are inside me, three of them, curling into me, fucking me so hard, it’s like an out-of-body experience.

“Yeah, that’s it, baby. I want it pouring out of you.”

“Wha…t? I never…”

He pumps my pussy harder, gritting his teeth. “Yeah, you can. I know you can.”

He puts in another finger, thrusting against my spot, and before I realize what’s happening, I come.

“Oh…my…yesss!”

It all rushes out of me, raining over my body, over him. I want to feel self-conscious, embarrassed, but I don’t. He stares at me as though he’s staring down at his most prized possession.

He smirks. “I told you, you can fuckin’ do it. And you’re gonna do it again.”

Before I have a chance to protest, his cock slides back inside, fucking me until his orgasm builds, until mine crests to a new high.

And when he comes, so do I, more powerfully than the last time.

“Goddamn, baby. I could watch you do that all day.”

When the tremors in my body still, I lie there, naked, unable to speak, and he scoops me up on top of him.

“I should probably get us to a bed, or at least a carpet.”

“Mm-hmm,” I mutter, the pleasure still coursing through me.

“See, you didn’t burn anything.” I hear the laughter in his words.

“No, but I think I burned my ass from how hard you fucked me.”

“Turn around. Let me make sure that sexy ass is in one piece.”

As his hand slides down to my core, his phone vibrates on the counter. He ignores it, playing me like his favorite toy. But then the cell buzzes immediately after.

“Go get it,” I tell him.

“I’m busy.” He sinks a finger inside me, and I whimper.

It vibrates again.

“Just get the damn thing,” I groan in frustration, lifting up my head.

“I’ll be two seconds.” He kisses me on the tip of my nose before jumping to his feet.

“What is it, Dante?”

At his brother’s name, I sit up. After all, my cousin is living with him.

Dom’s eyes land on me, but there’s something there. Something off.

“Mm-hmm. When?”

A second passes.

“Okay. Get the team ready. I’m coming.”

I put my shirt back on as I stand. “What’s going on?”

He gestures with a finger, indicating he needs a minute. “We’ll find her. Don’t worry. He’ll pay.”

An icy shudder runs down my arms, a knot forming in my stomach, growing larger, overtaking my thoughts.

Something bad happened to Raquel. I know it.

He hangs up, and the look in his eyes is troubled.

“Tell me,” I demand. “What happened to her?”

He inhales sharply, picking up his clothes and getting dressed. “I don’t want you to worry.”

“Tell me, God damn it!” Anger clouds my vision. “Who has her?”

“Carlito,” he says softly, reaching for my hand, rubbing a thumb over mine.

“Oh, God!”

My breath hitches, gasping with a shallow breath.

“If he knows she married another man, he’s going to kill her,” I sob. “If he hasn’t already.”

“She’s still alive,” he explains. “That’s what Dante said.”

“You have to save her. Please!”

“I will do everything, baby. I swear it.”

“How did he get to her?” I ask.

He glances down onto the floor before peering up again. “She stepped out of the house, and a van took her.”

“I fucking told him to tell her everything! She must’ve run. This is all my fault!” I yank my hand away, covering my eyes.

“No, it’s not,” he says softly. “We don’t even know what happened. Dante didn’t tell me much else.”

I sob, wiping away tears. “When are we going after him?”

There’s no way I won’t be there.

“Chiara…” He tilts his head to the side, his gaze tender.

“What?” My tone turns sharp.

“Baby, you have to stay here.”

“Absolutely not! I’m coming with you.”

“You’re not.”

“I’m not going to stand around worried for her. For you, all of you. No!”

“Baby, I will use every resource at my disposal to bring her back safely.” He tucks the back of his hand under my chin, his eyes level with mine. “But I can’t do that when I’m worrying about you.”

My eyes water over.

“My men will be here. You’ll be safe.”

I hate this. I should be there, but I refuse to put the man I love in any more danger.

“Find her. Bring her back,” I say, my voice an anguished whisper.

“I will. I swear.”

But what if he can’t?

“I love you, Chiara. Remember that.”

I draw back.

“No!” I shake my head desperately. “Don’t make it sound like you’re saying goodbye.”

He remains silent for only a moment, taking in the pain written in my eyes.

“I’ve never cared about coming back alive. But for once, I do.” He leans down, rubbing his mouth over mine, kissing me desperately. “I’m not done loving you.”

I reach for the necklace still around his neck, gripping the half of the heart in my palm.

“You’d better not be.” My voice lodges with a heavy wave of emotion.

He reaches for the heart dangling from my neck and holds it tight. “I have to go, baby. Dante’s waiting.”

I nod, tears tripping over one another. “Go.”

He backs away, but his eyes can’t seem to part from mine.

“When I come back, we’re making macaroons together.” A smile flits over his lips.

I try to return one. “I’d love to see that happen.”

He winks, mouthing I love you before he turns, jogging for the door.

And as I hear it shut, I miss him already.

I’ve welcomed him into my body and let him take my heart. And now, I’m left wondering what the future holds.
