2. Sincere ’Sin’

Sincere 'Sin’

“So, I told that nigga to say something else, and I was gone beat his ass. Long story short, the nigga said something else. Feel me?”

I licked my lips, and leaned back in the chair to get more comfortable. Her friend came back and handed both of us a bottle of water before she left the room.

Ronnie waited until the door closed behind her to talk.

“I’m afraid I don’t,” she said, her eyebrows knitted in confusion. You witnessed what happened?”

She asked Reese, and that instantly pissed me off. When I’m speaking, I expected her undivided attention.

“Didn’t I just tell you what went down, ma?” I spat, sitting up higher in my seat. “Why you need the word of another nigga?”

“Aye. Calm the fuck down, nigga. She a lawyer, she gotta listen to other muthafuckas too,” he barked, scowling at me. I sucked my teeth, waving him off. This nigga been a peacemaker since Ms. Washington’s 6th grade class.

My name’s Sincere Dupree, but I go by Sin or my rap name, Sin Sizza. The man next to me is my brother from another, Reese Jacobs, but he goes by Reese Rhymes. We grew up in Miami and moved to New York once we signed with Beast Coast Entertainment five years ago.

I’m an only child, raised by both parents, and ever since I met Reese in middle school, we been joined at the hip. It’s been plenty of times where muthafuckas get it twisted thinking I’m the hotheaded one, but it was actually him.

So, when he said what he said just now, I ain’t do shit. I don’t want no smoke.

“Go head and finish, Ms. Lady.” Reese gestured in her direction for her to continue.

“I was asking if you witnessed what happened just in case Sin...” Her eyes flickered to mine. “... missed out on a few details.”

I leaned up.

“I ain’t miss out on shit. I know what color socks that nigga had on. Fuck you mean?” I sat back against the chair folding my arms, ignoring Reese’s stare on the side of my face.

“Nigga, I wish I could tape yo’ goddamn mouth shut,” he spat, looking embarrassed that he knew me.

“Both of y’all please be quiet!” Ronnie demanded, looking back and forth between us with wide eyes. Shit, if I wasn’t tryna get in them guts, I would’ve got on her ass about yelling at me. “Can we just get this over with? I’m sure y’all both have plenty to do.”

“Nah, we free like a muthafucka,” I replied, stroking my chin. “Which gives me plenty of time to take you out to lunch.”

Reese rolled his eyes but stayed quiet. That’s one thing I can say about him. When I shoot my shot with a bitch, he doesn’t get in the middle.

“I’m not hungry,” Ronnie stated while flipping through the folder. “Maybe another time.”

I chuckled, running my tongue over my top teeth. She saying that now, but she just don’t know I get whatever the fuck I want, when I want, and however I want it.

Reese, who sat there silently, cleared his throat and spoke.

“Well yeah, I was there. This nigga,” he pointed at me. “Bumped into the man and told him he better watch where the fuck he going.” Reese mugged me when he finished. I don’t know what the problem is.

“Fuck wrong with that? Nigga ain’t have no respect.”

"He apologized,” Reese yelled.

“Alright.” Ronnie closed the file then stood up from her chair.

I got a peek at them sexy ass thighs as she pulled her skirt down and stood in front of me. This bitch knows she’s fine as hell.

I heard plenty of niggas tried to get at Ronnie Russell and she turned them all down. Everybody around here claimed she was a workaholic, but I’m finna change that.

“From the file, it says the gentleman wants to sue you for a hundred thousand dollars for pain and suffering.” She sat on the edge of the desk, her arms crossed as she stared me down.

“Pain and suffering? The nigga caused me pain too,” I proclaimed, and she held up her hand for me to stop.

“That’s enough. I will fix it, because that’s what I do, but you must stop all this nonsense Sincere.”

“You’re wasting precious time, Ms. Lady. This nigga a lost cause,” Reese stated, taking his phone out of his pocket once he heard it vibrating.

“Shit, what’s lost can be found. You gone find me, Ms. Ronnie?” I questioned, my eyes zoned in on her legs. I reached for her hand, and she rolled her eyes, but you could tell she was feeling a nigga. “Lemme take you out for lunch. We can talk all about this solution.”

She cast a glance at Reese for some reason. He was texting on his phone, not paying us any attention. He was probably talking to that hoe Jasmine. They met a few weeks ago when we performed at the awards show in L.A. When Ronnie nibbled on her bottom lip, I knew I had her.

“Just business, right?” I nodded, then crossed my heart with my finger.

Reese put his phone away, standing to his feet.

“You coming too?” she asked him, and I thought she had some nerve. This ain’t no goddamn threesome.

I knew he was gonna decline anyway. He already knew what this was, and he ain’t no hater.

“Nah, ma. I got shit to do, but it was nice meeting you.” He shook her hand and dapped me up. “I’ll hit you up later, Sin.”

When he was gone, I could tell the minute she got nervous in my presence. Ronnie played hard to get, but I was already knocking down a few walls.

“So, you ready to hit or what?” Ronnie narrowed her eyes at me as she moved around the desk to grab her stuff. I couldn’t help watching her booty jiggle. The shit looked squeezable as fuck, I was tempted to reach out and touch it.

I looked at the watch on my wrist to see it was already five o’clock. I could have her assed up for a nigga by nine.
