3. Reese
Reese
“What took you so long baby?” Jasmine asked as soon as she opened her front door.
“Sorry I’m late, I had a meeting to go to. I know you tired from the flight.” She tilted her head up for me to press a kiss on her cheek.
I’m Reese Jacobs, and despite what muthafuckas may think, I ain’t who they say I am. I’m quick-tempered and hotheaded, but I ain’t ever been the type to sleep around with multiple women. I want somebody who belongs to me and me only. The single life ain’t hitting nothing these days.
Jasmine and I had been seeing each other for a while and I’m really feeling her. She ain’t wanna fuck with a nigga at first though. Just like everybody else, she thought I was a playa, until I showed her ass I was serious about being in a relationship.
“I made you dinner. It’s in the microwave.” She closed the door behind me, then walked inside the kitchen. I took off my denim jacket, throwing it across a nearby chair.
I loved when Jasmine cooks for a nigga. Being raised by a single mama with three younger sisters, I’m used to being the last one to get fed.
“Thanks, ma. You do a nigga good,” I called out and went to wash my hands.
My ass ain’t eat nothing since I got up this morning, fucking around with Sin ignorant ass. I know I’m about to swallow this down in 2.5 seconds.
“You want water, or soda?”
When I stepped back into the kitchen, Jasmine was near the refrigerator with her robe wide open. I was tempted to say, ‘fuck this food,’ then eat her ass up against this counter instead.
“You look so damn good.” I kissed her neck repeatedly.
She giggled, pushing me away. “Eat before it gets cold, Reese. I don’t have time to play with you. I need to get some rest for my photoshoot in the morning,” Jaz exclaimed, tying the strings back together.
Don’t get me wrong, I love how serious Jasmine is about her career. However, I’ve been initiating sex for a while now, and she’s still holding out on a nigga. I don’t know what the hell she waiting on. I’m usually a patient man, but this is some bullshit.
“Ma, why you always pushing me away from you? It’s been months since we started kicking it.” I walked around to sit on the barstool.
“You a virgin or something?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.
As I waited for Jasmine’s response, I started eating the smothered pork chops and mashed potatoes she laid out for me. After a while, I heard her sigh, which gave me pause.
I stopped chewing to glance up at her. “What’s on your mind, ma?”
“I’m just trying to be sure you really here for me,” she confessed with sadness. “That you ain’t running around here with no other female.”
I sat the fork on the plate.
“I’m giving you all the extra time I got. I’m here with you if I’m not on the road, in the studio, or looking after my mama. What you mean?” I retorted after wiping my mouth with a napkin. What the fuck did she want a nigga to do? I’m damn near moved in.
“That’s not what I mean, Reese. Why don’t you take me to events with you? You don’t wanna show me off?” she questioned, twirling around in a circle.
“You act like I’m holding yo’ ass hostage somewhere.” I frowned. “When I got events going on, I tell you about them. What else you want me to do?”
I ain’t no goddamn mind reader. How I’m supposed to know she wanted to roll with a nigga? She never said shit, and I ain’t ask her. I figured if she wanted to go, she’d speak up and say that.
“Make me go.” She gave me a look.
Why would I do that? A nigga ain’t playing those types of games. I’m supposed to make her go, for what? Plenty muthafuckas will join me for free. I ain’t never gotta make nobody do a damn thing.
“Fuck I’mma do that for?” My food was completely forgotten about once she said that dumb shit.
She shrugged. “I’m just saying. If you really wanted me to go, you’ll make me go.”
“Nah, ma,” I chuckled, flicking the bridge of my nose. “If you wanted to go, you could’ve brought yo’ ass on.” I sat back in my chair, rubbing my hand down my mouth.
“A nigga got nothing to hide, and I ain’t got no problem showing you off.” I leaned my elbows on the countertop. She did the same, bringing us face to face. “You a 10, baby.”
I stroked her jaw with the back of my hand, and she grinned from ear to ear.
“For real? Weren’t you invited to a party for one of the other artists at BCE?” I nodded, even though that event ain’t until weeks away. “Take me there.”
“Cool,” I agreed.
Picking the fork back up, I finished eating my food. I don’t know what more Jasmine wants me to do to prove myself. I done met a lot of niggas in this industry who will just take what they want and leave, Sin included.
I mess with him the long way, but the nigga is disrespectful, which is why I couldn’t understand what Ms. Lady Ronnie saw in his ass.
She tried to play it cool in front of me, but I knew she was feeling my boy. I can’t say too much about that. I just hope he treats her right. But knowing Sincere like I do, Ronnie was gone wish she never met that nigga.
