11. Sincere ‘Sin

Sincere ‘Sin

“Damn, you ordered breakfast and ain’t get none for me?”

I looked down at the Styrofoam container on the table. I know this nigga went to JoJo’s, but he usually gets something for a nigga. Reese cleared his throat, tilting his head toward the corner. I followed his gaze to see Ronnie sitting there with a shocked look on her face. I gave her a sly grin.

Leaning my head to the side, I whispered to both girls, telling them to take a seat.

After dropping Ronnie off last night, I took my ass straight to Donna’s for a lil’ sloppy toppy.

The shit was fire, but the pussy wasn’t all that.

I forgot I even invited Ronnie when I told these hoes to roll through with me.

“What’s up, baby.” I walked over, pulled Ronnie off the sofa, and sat down with her in my lap.

“You missed me?” Kissing her cheek, I rubbed my hand on her thighs.

She tried moving out of my hold, but I tightened my arms around her waist.

“Where the fuck you tryna go?” Her ass ain’t finna be disrespecting me in my own damn studio.

“Sin, I came here to spend time with you. Instead, you roll up here with them.” Ronnie pointed toward the girls on the other couch.

“Ma, I told you I ain’t exclusive. Fuck you ain’t understand about that?” I whispered in her ear.

Reese put on a track, so I wasn’t sure if she could hear me.

“Stay. I need that address, too.” I tapped her leg, so she’ll move out my way.

“Wait.” Ronnie touched my hand. “I can’t stay. I have to see clients today.”

“Make ‘em wait, ma!” I stressed, and Reese looked at us over his shoulder.

“I’ll stay for a minute.” She gave in, folding her arms across her chest.

Reese had something to say as soon as I got to where he was. “Aye, man. Why you treating her like that?”

“Like what?” I sat next to him.

“Disrespectful, nigga. She’s cool as hell, and you not even tryna get to know her.” He played with the switches on the mixer. I don’t know why he always fucking with these people shit. That’s what the engineer is here for.

“She aight.” I waved him off. “I gave her some good dick last night, so her ass ain’t going nowhere.”

Reese cut his eyes at me. “Y’all a couple, then?”

I laughed, holding my fist over my mouth. “Man, get on somewhere with that bullshit. You know me better than that. We just having fun.”

“If you say so nigga. You ready to do this?” He nodded toward the booth.

I went in after him. Once we got the headphones on, the music started to play. Reese’s intro was first, and then I followed behind him with my verse. Every time we record, the process takes long as hell. We gotta keep doing the shit over to get it the way Reese wants it since it’s his songs.

“Baby, Lemme hit that...” My mouth was dry as I started the opening lines for the fifth time.

I yanked the headphones off my head when I finished, making a cut motion with my hand.

“Fuck you stopped for? You were too low on that part.”

“Reese, I’m thirsty as hell. I need some water fo’ I pass out in here.” I stood up from the stool. He wanted to say something. Instead, he stayed quiet and followed me out of the small booth. Ronnie was still in the same spot with an attitude.

“I gotta go, Sincere. I just wanted to let you know I’m leaving.” She leaped up, reaching down for her bag on the floor. Her arm stretched out as she slapped a piece of paper in my hand. I assumed it was the address I needed.

“Didn’t I tell you...” I couldn’t finish, because Reese moved her toward the door.

“Go head Ronnie. He’s gone be straight.” Reese stared at me the entire time like he was daring me to say something. This nigga needs to stay in his lane.

Ronnie glanced at me one more time on the way to the door.

“Fuck you in my business for nigga? That’s my bitch!” I barked.

“That damn girl got a fucking job, man. How you just gone keep her here?” He waved his hand. Reese ain’t ever get in on my business before, now suddenly, he so worried about these hoes?

“Shit! If Ronnie wanna be down with me, she needs to get with the program. I need a bitch that’s gone follow directions.”

“Nah, you need to grow the fuck up!” he responded with anger. “You gone miss out on a good woman talking that bullshit. You getting too old to be acting this damn stupid!”

I sucked my teeth.

“She’s just one bitch. It’s plenty more out here,” I argued, going to sit down between Ebony and Alisha.

I watched Reese shake his head. He’s been on one lately. I know he always thought he was better than me, but he really ain’t. I’m the one sandwiched between two hoes... his ass needs to keep up.
