13. Toni Mensah #2
I stepped closer until I felt him against me. His dick was already hard enough for me to notice, and the second I felt it, I pulled in a soft breath and tried not to make it obvious that my body had reacted, but he saw it anyway.
Kay’Lo’s hand came to my waist, and he pulled me in more while the glass stayed in his other hand. I tipped my face toward his neck and kissed him there slow, right under his jaw. He smelled too good like soap, liquor, and that cologne that always sat on his skin like it was made for him.
My mouth moved along his neck while my hand slid under the bottom of his shirt, and when my fingers touched his stomach, I felt his muscles tighten under my palm.
I kissed higher and let my lips brush the side of his face.
I wasn’t beggin’ him for a baby, and I wasn’t finna stand here whinin’ about what he had put on hold.
But I wanted him to feel me wantin’ it. I wanted him to feel me wantin’ him.
I wanted him to know I still wanted everything we had been talkin’ about, even if I understood why he needed us to wait.
Kay’Lo sat the glass on the bar behind me, then put both hands on my waist. He looked down at me, and the heat in his eyes had my stomach twistin’.
His mouth moved, and he leaned down until his lips brushed mine. He let our mouths touch just enough to make me chase it, and when I lifted my head more, he finally gave me what I wanted. His tongue slid against mine slow, and I melted into him with both hands fisted in his shirt.
The kiss was deep enough to make me forget we was standin’ by the bar. His hands held my waist, and mine stayed on his body while I kissed him ‘cause I had been missin’ my man real bad.
It felt like I had been walkin’ around my own house without the part of Kay’Lo I needed most, and now that he was givin’ me some of it back, I ain’t wanna let him go.
His hand slid to my lower back and pressed me closer. I felt his dick against me again, harder now, and my body softened deeper into his like it was ready to forgive everything if he just kept touchin’ me.
My mouth left his and went back to his neck, and I kissed him there while he breathed out through his nose, still holdin’ me like he was tryna decide if he wanted to take me upstairs or keep lettin’ me work for it.
Then a cry came from down the hall.
Kay’Lo’s head turned before mine did. My’Love cried again, louder this time, and a second later one of the nannies came around the corner with her in her arms.
My baby’s face was red, her curls all over her head and her mouth turned down like she had been fightin’ sleep and losin’ bad.
The second she saw Kay’Lo, she reached for him.
“Da,” she cried, stretchin’ both arms out.
Kay’Lo pulled away from me without even thinkin’ about it and reached for My’Love. The nanny passed her over, and she went straight to his chest, holdin’ on to his shirt like that was the only place she wanted to be.
“I got her,” Kay’Lo told the nanny.
The nanny nodded and stepped back, and Kay’Lo kissed the side of My’Love’s face while she cried into his neck.
“You tired, mama?” he asked her, rubbin’ her back. “You been fightin’ that sleep again?”
My’Love sniffed and pushed her face closer to him. Kay’Lo kissed her cheek again, then her forehead, and her cry started breakin’ down into lil’ soft sounds while he held her. All his attention had shifted to her like what we did by the bar had never happened.
I stood here watchin’ him, feelin’ too many things at one time.
Kay’Lo turned down the hall with My’Love on his chest, rockin’ her as he walked. “Daddy got you. Come on, mama. You good. Go to sleep.”
His voice got lower the further he went, and My’Love quieted under it like she knew he was the one who could settle her. I watched him disappear around the corner, still kissin’ on our baby, and movin’ like everything else in the house could wait ‘cause his daughter had reached for him.
And here I was, left standin’ by the bar with my lips still warm from him and my body still achin’ for everything we ain’t get to finish.
I leaned back against the bar and rubbed my hand over my stomach before I could stop myself. That same ache from earlier came right back. I wanted another baby with my husband. I wanted the baby we was supposed to be makin’ before everything got fucked up.
I missed my husband, and I missed the way we had been lookin’ toward somethin’ together. I missed feelin’ like we was on the same side without all this tension pressin’ between us.
I picked up the bottle of liquor and poured myself some in the glass he hadn’t finished and took a sip even though I knew it was gon’ burn.
Down the hall, Kay’Lo’s voice stayed low.
“That’s enough cryin’, mama. Daddy got you. Lay yo’ head down.”
I closed my eyes for a second. I loved that man. Even when he was mad at me, even when he was makin’ me sit in what I had done and even when he pulled back enough to make me feel the space, I knew there wasn’t no love or protection like the kind I had with him.
I wasn’t gon’ find that shit nowhere else. I wasn’t gon’ find another man who could check me, love me, cover me and make me wanna climb inside his skin all in the same night. I just needed to get him all the way back.
I stayed by the bar, listenin’ until My’Love’s cries faded completely, and all I could think was that my cousin’s heartbreak had found its way into my house, my marriage and the baby me and Kay’Lo had been tryna make…
Over an hour passed and Kay’Lo was still with My’Love while I was sittin’ in bed scrollin’ my phone, tryna act like I wasn’t listenin’ for every sound outside the damn door.
I wasn’t even readin’ half the shit on my screen. My thumb kept movin’ out of habit, but my mind was still downstairs, in My’Love room, on the way Kay’Lo had kissed me, touched me and walked off with our baby in his arms before the moment could turn into what both of us knew it was tryna turn into.
My body still couldn’t shake that shit ‘cause it had been over a week since I felt my husband’s dick.
Downstairs, I still remembered his hand on my ass, his mouth on mine, the way he looked at me while he sipped from his glass and the way he knew exactly what I wanted without me havin’ to say it had me layin’ in this damn bed with my thighs pressed together and my attitude somewhere between needy and annoyed.
I had on a short cream gown that barely covered anything, and I ain’t put no panties on after my shower ‘cause I knew my husband.
Kay’Lo could be quiet, and he could move slow.
He could make me wonder what was on his mind for a whole hour if he felt like it, but that nigga wasn’t comin’ back to our room after all that downstairs just to go to sleep.
I stretched my legs under the blanket and looked toward the door again, feelin’ my stomach dip before I even heard him.
A few seconds later, Kay’Lo walked in.
He stopped in the doorway with a fresh glass of liquor in his hand, and his eyes found me over the rim before he took a sip. He ain’t say nothin’. He just stood there lookin’ at me, calm as hell, with his body leanin’ against the frame and that cup tipped to his mouth.
The room was dim, but I could still see him good enough.
I locked the screen and sat it facedown next to me.
Kay’Lo’s eyes moved to the phone, then came right back to my face.
“What?” I asked, even though I already knew better.
He lowered the glass from his mouth. “You been waitin’ on me?”
I shifted against the pillows, and the gown slid higher on my thighs. “Yes.”
His eyes dropped for half a second, just long enough for me to feel it between my legs, then he pushed away from the doorway and walked toward the bed.
He sat the glass on the nightstand, then crawled in the bed from the foot of it with his eyes locked on mine the whole time. My heart started actin’ stupid.
He came up between my legs without touchin’ me at first, and I had to keep myself from reachin’ too fast. That was the game he was playin’. He wanted to see if I was gon’ chase him, and the fucked up part was, I was. I lifted my head when he got close enough, and he let me kiss him.
Our mouths touched soft, and I tasted the liquor on his lips.
I kissed him again, slower, and this time his mouth moved against mine with enough heat to make my fingers curl in the sheets.
Kay’Lo’s hand slid to my thigh, and his thumb moved under the hem of my gown, brushin’ skin that was already too warm for him.
I opened my mouth for him, and he kissed me deep for a few seconds before pullin’ back.
Then he got off the bed…
I stared at him. “Kay’Lo.”
He glanced back while pullin’ his shirt over his head. “I’m finna shower.”
I sat up a lil’, feelin’ offended as hell and turned on at the same time.
My mouth parted, but I ain’t say nothin’.
A second later, I heard the shower turn on, and I fell back against the pillows with my whole body hot.
He knew exactly what he was doin’. He had crawled between my legs, kissed me long enough to make my pussy wet, then left me sittin’ in the bed with this gown on and no panties while he went to shower.
I laid here listenin’ to the water and felt myself get worse with every minute that passed.
I knew what my nigga looked like in there.
I knew them sexy ass tattoos was wet, his muscles movin’, and water slidin’ down his chest and stomach while he washed the day off him.
I knew how his body looked when he stepped out too with all that smooth skin, hard lines, thick thighs and that dick sittin’ heavy between his legs.
The thought alone had me slidin’ one hand down my stomach, but I stopped before I touched myself ‘cause I ain’t want my own hand. I wanted his.
After a while when the shower finally cut off, I sat up without even meanin’ to.
Kay’Lo came out a few minutes later completely naked, with a towel in his hand while he dried himself.
