Chapter 19 Xy
Chapter Nineteen
Xy
“I’m pulling the plug on the entire fuckin’ city, I don’t give a fuck!” I loudly raged, beating against my chest in the room full of foot soldiers under Blow and Jah’s command.
I was so full of anger that it felt like there was a demon inside of me trying to claw its way out.
Five days. Drek had been gone for five gahdamn days, and truthfully, I felt dead inside.
Her leaving her phone behind was a big fuck you to me and after going through it, there wasn’t one inkling as to where she might have gone.
She withdrew money from an ATM close to the house, and there had been zero activity on her accounts since.
She hadn’t checked into a hotel, at least not under her name, so actually finding her this time had been a lot more difficult. I didn’t expect her to exactly be happy about me swapping out her birth control, but I damn sure wasn’t expecting her ass to disappear on me again.
“Why we gotta stop eating just cause yo bitch missing?” One of the young niggas mouthed off under his breath.
The thing about me, I had hearing like a muthafuckin’ bat.
I could hear an ant pissing on cotton underground, dead ass.
From the looks on the niggas’ faces around him, it was obvious they heard him, too.
They slowly backed away from him like he had a bomb strapped to his chest and was about to blow us all up.
With a deadly smile on my face, I took four large steps and was standing directly in front of the goofy.
“Repeat that for me,” I removed my Glock, squaring my shoulders as my nostrils flared.
“Actually, don’t repeat that shit. I heard you loud and clear,” I aimed at his foot and let off a round, causing him to scream and his body to hit the floor. “You referred to my angel as a bitch?”
“Nah, Xy, c’mon bro, it wasn’t like that!”
“Bro?” I frowned my face, feeling even more disrespected.
“C’mon!” He held his hands up like my bullets wouldn’t break his hands in half. “I ain’t mean that! I’m just hungry, that’s all!”
I smiled, looking around the room. “Oh, you hungry? Is that what it is?”
His head nodded feverishly. “Yes! I say stupid shit when I’m hungry!”
“Me and you ain’t that different then, homeboy,” I waved my gun between me and him before squatting down next to his head. “Except, I’m homicidal and I do stupid shit!” Pressing the barrel of my gun in the center of his forehead, I let one off with a smile as his blood splattered across my face.
Slowly standing up, I drew in a deep, calming breath, wiping the blood from my face with the back of my sleeve.
“Bitch ass nigga. If anybody else wanna join him in hell, here’s your gahdamn chance,” I pivoted in a small circle to see if niggas were jumping at the chance to meet the devil.
“Aight,” I nodded after being greeted with complete silence.
“Like I said, ain’t shit moving in the streets until Drek is found.
Get the fuck out of my face and remember, children, your livelihood depends on mine, so find my fuckin’ woman! ”
The room emptied so damn fast, it sounded like a stampede of elephants tryna get out of that bitch. Good. The more eyes I had looking for her, the better chances of me finding her.
“Nigga,” Jah gestured toward the dead nigga in the floor whose blood was pooling around his head. “Was this necessary?”
“Jah, if you questioning me about that shit, that mean you agree with what the fuck he said about Drek,” I tucked my weapon and eyed him. “You think she a bitch?”
He tossed his hands up like he was over my bullshit. “Yeah, we need to find her ‘cause you got the whole city walking on eggshells and shit.”
“Good, let them tiptoe around this muthafucka. Ain’t nobody resting if I ain’t.”
“You a selfish ass nigga,” Blow laughed, shaking his head and taking his phone out of his pocket. “Let me call cleanup.”
“Fuck both of y’all. Jah, you get to go home and lay up with Makenna, and Blow, you get to stick yo dick in whatever bitch you feeling today. What I get to do? Go home and sit in that bitch…in silence because my shorty gone.”
“You saying she gone like somebody kidnapped her, bro. She left…on her own accord because of you…again,” Jah delivered the ugly truth that I damn sure ain’t wanna hear.
My nostrils flared, and my fists balled so tight, I thought my knuckles would rip through the skin. “Watch your fuckin’ mouth, Jaheem.”
“Or what, nigga? You’ll put a hole in me, too?
” He argued, not backing down. Jah never backed down with me though.
“Stop doing stupid shit, Xyleek. You not cheating, but now you trapping her,” he tapped the side of his head with two fingers.
“Use your muthafuckin’ head! You smart in every aspect of your gahdamn life except with her. ”
“Aight,” Blow intervened after getting off the phone. “C’mon.”
“Nah, let the nigga talk,” my heart was pumping with rage and pain, but I wouldn’t dare take that shit out on Jah for real.
He was loyal to a fuckin’ fault to me and Drek, so when he felt it was necessary to tell me about myself, I was inclined to listen. It didn’t mean I liked the shit, but I at least heard him out without killing him. Another nigga would never get that chance. Not even Blow.
“You can make million dollar moves without blinking. You can outsmart any nigga in the streets, but when it comes to Drek, you can’t figure that shit out!
You can’t keep ya dick in ya pants, you can’t keep ya name out the blogs, you can’t stop embarrassing the fuck out of her!
And now that you finally stopped doing that dumb ass shit, you turn around and do this nut shit by switching out her birth control without her permission! ”
I shrugged casually. “So?”
“SO?! Nigga, do you hear yourself?!”
“Loud and clear,” I blinked slowly, still unbothered by his words.
“Xy, you violated her body. You took away a big ass choice from her, so now if she goes somewhere and decides to take that choice away from you then…”
I moved so fast in his direction that I didn’t even notice I had really moved. “Jaheem, shut the fuck up. She ain’t killing my seed.”
“Why can’t she? That’s her choice, ain’t it?
Just like it was your choice to take her birth control and then keep nutting in her.
That’s not love, Xy, that’s fuckin’ control.
You’re so gahdamn scared you’re gon’ lose her that you do stupid shit, not realizing that the shit you do to keep her is the same shit that pushes her away!
” He licked the corner of his mouth with his chest heaving up and down.
“You love Drek so much that it makes you act reckless, bro. Calm down when it comes to her, and I guarantee she’ll stop running away so fuckin’ much.
Be the man she fell in love with, not the one she gotta run from. ”
With a final glare, he stepped around me, shoulder checking me in the process.
I almost pulled my gun on that nigga, but his quick ass was out the door in the blink of an eye.
Blow looked like he didn’t know whether to add his own thoughts or keep his mouth shut.
His best bet was to shut the fuck up and make sure the cleanup crew did what they were supposed to do.
Following suit behind Jah, I stepped out into the freezing January air.
The sun was high in the sky, but that didn’t mean shit because it still felt like Jack Frost was blowing icicles all over the seven cities.
Sliding into the back of Dean’s Suburban, I immediately leaned my head against the headrest and blew out an aggravated sigh.
Ashaun briefly turned and looked at me before handing me a rag. “Nigga, you can’t be riding around with blood all over your face.”
“Stop dropping bodies,” Dean warned, pulling away from the curb.
“Why? You have a better idea?” I dragged the dark colored rag along my face and then tossed it next to me.
He glanced at me through the rearview. “Yeah, nigga. Therapy. Shit, a witch doctor. Yo ass need something to keep you from flying off the handles every time she walks away.”
“She ain’t gon’ walk away no more once I find her,” I muttered, repeating the promise I’d been telling myself for the last few days.
I knew wherever Drek was, she was probably scared, but so was I.
Actually, I stopped being scared about two days ago.
Now, I was just pissed at the fact she was tryna leave me when I was only doing the right thing for our relationship.
A house, a marriage, a baby, all that was shit she asked for.
Y’all remember she said she wanted her bassinet and Bentayga?
I was just tryna give her that, and she had the nerve to up and walk out.
Like she ain’t been mine since before I even knew what love was.
I needed her to understand that there was no world that existed where she and I weren’t together.
And if that’s how she wanted it to be, then I had to blow up the Earth… sorry, not fuckin’ sorry.
