Epilogue - Sea
Six Months Later
"Congratulations! We're pregnant! I greet Milo at our front door with a big kiss.
"Wait? What?” The puzzled look on his face is classic as he pulls away from me. "But I thought you were on birth control. Not that I don't want to have a baby with you. I think I need to sit down."
As much as I enjoy watching Milo’s range of emotions dance across his face, from shock to confusion, to finally happy, I decided to put him out of his misery. "Not me, silly. The stray cat we brought home a couple of weeks ago is pregnant.”
"Oh, so you're not the one who's pregnant?" Milo seems almost sad that I'm not the one who's pregnant. "I mean, that's great. More fur babies."
"Milo, do you want to have a baby so soon? We only got married two months ago." It was a whirlwind time in our lives that we shared with the special people in our lives.
One minute we were fake dating and the next we were getting married in Vegas during a road stretch. My sisters and their significant others were our witnesses. It wasn’t a huge wedding, just the six of us, the Elvis impersonator who officiated the wedding, and his wife.
We plan to have a larger wedding during the break between the NHL seasons. Something that his entire team can attend, and Bowie, Prince, and Jagger can be my ring bearers. Milo has actually been practicing with them. He’ll make such a great dad someday.
“I didn't realize I did until I thought you were pregnant. But now, I want to watch your belly grow as it carries our child.” He places his hand on my cheek. "I want nothing more than to start a family with you, Sea."
"I love you, Milo." I lean into his touch with a sigh.
"I love you too, Sea." He tilts my chin up to meet his lips, giving me a kiss full of love and promises of a long, happy future together, with a home filled with children, both human and furry.
