5. Chapter 5 #3
The adrenaline shifted into a hungry need that wiped away my warring thoughts.
The more I moved, the more our shared kiss turned into something only two souls could say.
I desperately needed something to root me back into the woman I knew, and not the strange sensations that pulled me to be something else.
Peiro’s hand traveled inside my tunic and up my side to palm my breast, kneading it with urgency.
I arched into his touch for more the moment he rolled my nipple between his deft fingers.
My legs fell open and he settled at my center.
There was no mistaking his want for me as I ground against him, desperate to alleviate the pressure building.
A deep chuckle rumbled from his chest and the corners of his mouth tilted to a smile. “When did my moonlight become so greedy?” Peiro asked, moving down to lightly nip along my jaw and neck.
I didn’t care what I was; I needed everything he had to offer me at this very moment.
A shock of cold air grazed my skin as the top of my tunic shifted and Peiro’s warm tongue lazily caressed the soft peaks of my breasts.
My fingers continued combing through his hair while his hands trailed down, lingering a moment at my hips before they slipped below the waistline of my trousers.
I sucked in a sharp breath, my eyes fluttering closed the moment I felt his fingers glide along my center and push deep inside me.
“Insatiable,” he teased as he stroked my inner walls and curled his fingers inward. I gasped again, my desire growing stronger. The brink of oblivion was within my grasp when his fingers abruptly stopped.
My eyes flew open and I found him watching me with a hunger that left me aching.
“Please, don’t stop,” I panted, now grasping for his arms. A smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth as he began moving his fingers for just a moment before stopping again.
“What are you doing?” My head was stuck in a daze between the now and the stars, pleading to be pushed over the brink.
“Mmm,” he purred. His fingers moved at a menacing pace and then stopped once again. “Don’t good things come to those who wait?”
I opened my eyes, my desire threatening to turn to anger, when he started again, and I began to climb toward that delicious plateau once more.
“Are you going to keep playing your game?” He slowed to a grueling pace.
What kind of game was this? I shook my head. “No.” It was the truth. I was instantly rewarded.
“Good,” he said along my neck, sucking and teasing the sensitive skin of my collarbone.
Coolness washed over me as his weight shifted and his fingers disappeared altogether. Peiro leaned back on his knees and yanked my trousers down to my boots.
I watched hungrily as he undid his belt and shoved his pants to his knees, freeing himself in the process. He settled between my legs once again, gliding the tip of his arousal along my entrance.
Peiro slowly entered just enough to send a fury of sensation through me. I ached, needing more of him. Liquid heat pooled in anticipation. “Are you going to keep lying to me?” He withdrew himself completely.
“No,” I whimpered and arched my hips, seeking relief from the tension. “Please,” I begged, tossing my head back.
Peiro chuckled, sliding back into me slowly. “I do not like being lied to, Naa’n le’ya.”
“I won’t,” I promised. He pulled out, just enough to leave me aching at the lack of him, then slammed into me to the hilt. I cried out, my back arching off the ground.
“Do not lie to me again.” Each word was accented by a strong thrust of his hips.
I locked my arms around him, anchoring myself in place as he continued.
“I’m already a fool at your hand. Do not shut me out when I can so clearly see your fears and doubts.
Your eyes betray you, Naa’n le’ya, but I am here at every step.
Every path.” His words cradled something deep.
Peiro stilled. “Promise me,” he urged. “Whatever you’re facing, we’ll face it side by side. Together.” An unknown emotion crossed his features before subsiding just as quickly.
“I promise,” I whispered, reaching up and curling a strand of his hair around my fingers.
“Good.” He moved again, quicker this time. “Now come for me.”
As if by his command, everything fell away.
I saw the stars as pleasure rolled through me in crashing waves, one right after another.
Peiro’s release was not far behind. My name tore from his mouth like a prayer as we rode the final waves together.
His body collapsed on mine and our breaths entangled as we struggled to find our sense of calm.
Something soft and silky nuzzled against my skin as I caressed Peiro’s back in gentle strokes while we laid there in the aftermath.
I blinked, ensuring what I saw. Faint shadows coiled in the moonlight and hovered like it wanted to embrace us.
Shield us. They wrapped around my fingers, warm and soothing, like a friend I hadn’t seen in a very long time.
I smiled softly, watching it swirl around us.
In that moment, I could have sworn that I could sense our hearts beating as one.
