Chapter 97
LUCY
I’d never experienced pain like this.
I squirmed on the floor for a good ten seconds.
April was on me before I knew it, and she wrapped two pieces of duct tape over my mouth. I couldn’t fight back. The pain was excruciating.
“Stand up,” she said.
I couldn’t, so she helped drag me to my feet.
“Give me your sweater,” she said. “If you don’t, I will zap you again.”
I took off my sweater and gave it to her. What choice did I have?
She then shoved me up against the car, forced my hands behind my back, and handcuffed me. I probably couldn’t take April in a fight, even with all things being equal, and having just been tased, I stood zero chance.
She grabbed my keys and cell phone from my pocket and then pushed me into the back of the car, where I fell, face forward, my mouth covered in duct tape, and my hands cuffed behind my back.
April then shut the door behind me and sat in the front seat.
She leaned back and looked down at me. “We’re going to be here for a while, so make yourself comfortable.”
And then she laughed.
