Chapter Seven

Jesse stretched out in the huge bed, then remembered where he was and snapped fully awake. He whipped his head to the side. The bed was empty beside him. He moved to get up, stopping at the warm ache he felt where his and Evan’s bodies had been joined just hours before.

He eased back down and closed his eyes. The last thing he remembered was the feel of Evan holding him as he fell asleep.

His mind flooded with how they had clung to each other, melting into each other while everything around them drifted away but their two bodies pulsing together, a blur of endless ecstasy that lasted until they both reached total exhaustion.

The way Evan kissed, touched, moved, was all so sensual.

He felt the same pull on his heart as when Evan asked if he was doing okay.

Evan’s voice had been so kind, he sounded like he truly cared.

Jesse moved his hand under the silk top sheet and wrapped his fingers around his full arousal.

He looked over at the alarm clock by the bed, saw it was a quarter past noon, and felt relieved it was Sunday and he didn’t have to go to work.

That’d be just lovely to shuffle around a mega-bookstore trying to stock shelves with a sore ass.

The time hit him again and he realized he hadn’t talked to Brandon or Kenny.

He forced himself to get up and swing out of bed.

He found his boxers and jeans on the floor, and pulled on his boxers while he dug his cell phone out of his jeans, not the least bit surprised to see Brandon had called six times.

He knew he should call him back, but also knew it would take a while to make Brandon believe who he spent the night with, and really, he didn’t want to get tangled up in a big conversation with his brother before seeing Evan.

He tucked his cell phone back into his jeans and tossed them onto the bed.

He turned for the bathroom. On his way, he paused at the closed heavy curtains of royal blue trimmed in gold and peeked out to the wide French doors leading to a balcony that overlooked the back of Evan’s property.

Below, a white brick patio edged with gray stone held outdoor furniture of white wrought iron.

A few feet away sat a hot tub paneled in redwood.

Beyond the patio was a massive in-ground pool with a separate whirlpool section, and in the far left-hand corner of it, a waterfall trickled over dark gray stones.

The back of the property continued to stretch on in an expanse of thick grass dotted with maples, pines, birches, and other assorted trees.

A white gravel path traversed away from the patio to a verdant garden filled with roses, and in the center of the garden stood a white gazebo.

The yard progressed to the brick and stone wall where an iron gate blocked off a set of concrete stairs that led down through giant boulders and rocks to the sandy beach.

White gulls oscillated over the sparkling waves of Lake Michigan.

Jesse let the curtain fall shut, a moment of disbelief passing through him.

He turned for the master bathroom and stopped the instant he stepped in.

He had been in there the night before, but he was in such a daze from being with Evan, he staggered in and stumbled back out when finished.

Now with full daylight coming through a strip of windows above the shower, he saw a bathroom like ones he saw on TV or in magazines.

Tile that looked like real pieces of stone covered the floor.

The enormous glass shower took up a full corner.

The whirlpool bathtub was separate, raised up on a couple steps, and could easily hold two people.

To his left ran a white marble counter streaked in silver with two sinks and a long mirror above.

Jesse blinked, shook his head slightly, and walked across the bathroom to the toilet, where a bidet sat to one side.

He saw mouthwash sitting by the sink and rinsed his mouth, then washed his face and combed his fingers through his hair.

He headed back to the bedroom and looked at the empty bed, unable to deny the disappointment he felt at waking up alone.

He considered crawling back in and waiting for Evan to return to him, then wondered if Evan was downstairs waiting for him to get dressed and get out.

For all he knew, he had already overstayed his welcome.

The things Evan whispered to him during the night made him want to believe Evan would like to see him again, but in truth, maybe he should look at Evan’s words for what they were, the charmings of a man looking to get off.

His heart constricted at the thought. He didn’t want Evan’s words to be hollow.

He wanted to see him again, every day, every night.

He wanted Evan to be his, and his alone.

But how would he go about convincing a man who was used to being the object of lust for half the world that he should be only with him?

Jesse felt the combative part of himself stir at the challenge.

He could do it. After all, even if half the world wanted Evan, the world hadn’t gotten a look at Jesse yet, and when it did just as many people would want him too, so didn’t that mean he and Evan would be perfect together?

While the whole world drooled over one or the other of them, they could find sanctuary in each other’s arms, understanding each other better than anyone else possibly could.

He snatched his jeans off the bed, wanting to find Evan.

“Getting ready to leave so soon?”

Jesse snapped his head up at the sound of Evan’s voice. Wearing only a pair of black Adidas running pants that fell off the top of his slender hips, Evan stood in the doorway holding a serving tray with two plates of scrambled eggs, toast, and two glasses of orange juice.

Jesse dropped his jeans to the floor. “I was getting dressed to look for you.”

“You don’t have to be dressed to do that.” Evan headed to the nightstand and set the tray down. He walked around the bed, past Jesse to the curtains, and pulled them back to fill the bedroom with sunlight. He stayed at the windows, staring out at the lake.

Jesse’s breath slipped as he gazed at Evan’s lean body, his skin radiant in the sunlight.

Looking at him, he couldn’t help but picture classical Greek sculptures that strove to depict the epitome of male beauty.

It was impossible to look at Evan and think of him as anything but beautiful.

Though, other words like stunning, breathtaking, captivating…

“Any regrets?” Evan asked, his voice soft.

Jesse stared at Evan’s back, too surprised by the question to answer.

“I knew we should have slowed down,” Evan mumbled to himself.

Jesse watched Evan’s shoulders rise and fall with a sigh. He walked up behind him and wrapped his arms around Evan’s waist. He kissed the back of his shoulder, laid his head against Evan’s, and gave him a strong hug. “No regrets,” he whispered.

Evan turned in his arms and rested his forehead against Jesse’s. “How do you feel?”

With Evan so close, his breath on his lips, Jesse’s earlier desire surged back to the surface. He edged his hips nearer to him. “I feel incredible.”

Evan felt Jesse’s cock rising against his own. “Sore?”

Jesse brushed his lips across Evan’s shoulder.

“A little.” He licked up Evan’s neck to his left earlobe and sucked the two gold hoop earrings dangling there into his mouth.

“But it’s a good kind of sore.” He moved his lips back to Evan’s neck.

Evan closed his eyes and tipped his head to the side to give more of it to him.

Jesse kissed the soft skin near the curve.

“There’s a phantom feeling as if you’re still inside me.

” He lightly nipped him. “But it’s a tease too, because it makes me want the real thing again. ”

Evan smiled, and caressed up and down Jesse’s back with his fingertips. “You’re going to become addicted to it.”

Jesse traced his index finger along the inside of Evan’s pants. The tip brushed over the top of Evan’s hard cock. “I think I already am.”

Evan grazed his lips over Jesse’s. “Are you hungry?”

Jesse nodded. “I’m so starving I swear my stomach is crawling up my throat looking for food.”

“That’s a sexy image. I hope you like your eggs scrambled because it’s the only way I know how to cook ‘em.” Evan lightly tugged at Jesse’s boxers. “Why don’t you take these off and get back in bed?”

Before Evan’s fingers left his boxers, Jesse dropped them around his ankles.

Evan moved his eyes over him, taking a long moment to drink in Jesse’s fully filled organ.

He slowly raised his gaze. Jesse’s eyes showed no shyness or self-consciousness, not that Jesse had anything to be self-conscious about.

His sleek, wiry body could have made Michelangelo weep at its perfection.

He caught Jesse’s knowing grin. Jesse knew exactly how attractive he was, and it was clear because of that knowledge, he was as comfortable nude as he was clothed.

Seeing Jesse’s confidence made Evan’s cock strain to break free of his running pants.

He slid one arm around Jesse’s lower back and pulled him in, covering his mouth in a kiss that sent his desire to him.

He rubbed one hand down Jesse’s chest to his stomach, pausing when he felt it rumble under his palm.

He smiled through the kiss. “You really are hungry.”

Jesse leaned forward to continue the kiss. “I can wait.”

Evan gave Jesse’s hand a pull toward the bed. “I have a feeling you’d starve to death before passing up sex.”

Jesse let out an exaggerated sigh of disappointment, but followed. He crawled under the covers and propped the pillows up against the headboard. Evan set the tray over Jesse’s lap and slid next to him from the other side of the bed.

Jesse took a bite of the eggs and looked at Evan with a smirk. “Wow. The rock star can cook.”
