15 - Adrian #2

"Nine years," I continue, voice dropping to barely above a whisper.

"Nine years of perfect discipline. Never touching, never taking, just watching and wanting and making sure you were safe.

Do you understand what that cost? What kind of control it takes to love someone that completely and never let them see it? "

"That's not love—"

"It's the only kind I know how to give." The confession feels like tearing my chest open, showing her the mess inside. "Complete. Absolute. Structural. Building your entire world better without you knowing I was the one laying every brick."

She makes a sound, half fury, half something else. The something else makes my hands shake with the need to touch her.

"And now?" Her question comes out rough, like she's been screaming. "Now that I know?"

"Now you're mine openly instead of secretly."

The certainty in my voice makes her whole body shiver. I watch goosebumps rise on her arms, watch her nipples harden further. I know that tell too, the slight shift in her stance, the way her breath hitches.

We're standing so close the knife between us feels like foreplay, the danger adding charge to every word, every breath. Violence and desire tangled together exactly how we both need it.

"I know everything about you," I say in a low voice.

"You don't know what you're talking about."

"I know you dream about letting go." I press closer, letting the knife point pierce my shirt at my belly, feeling the tip against skin.

"About someone strong enough to take your control so you don't have to carry it anymore.

I know the hunger you can't name sits right here.

" I press my fingers to my own chest, over my heart, above where her blade presses into me. "And eats you alive at night."

Her body trembles, fight and arousal warring across her features. "You don't know what I want."

The challenge makes something snap inside me. I wrap my hand around hers on the knife handle, not taking it, just holding. The contact, first real touch since I stopped her leaving, sends electricity through us both.

"You want someone who sees your sharp edges and presses closer instead of pulling away." My thumb strokes over her knuckles, and she gasps. "Who knows you could gut them and chooses to lean into the blade. You want to be wanted so completely that resistance becomes irrelevant."

"Fuck you."

"You want to be conquered by someone who's earned it." I tighten my grip on our joined hands, on the weapon between us. "Someone who's proven they want you more than their own survival. Someone who's spent years learning exactly how to take apart your control piece by piece."

She tries to pull back but I hold firm, both of us gripping the weapon between us. The knife that could end me, held in our joined hands like a promise.

"You don't know what I want," she repeats, but it's barely a whisper now.

"Yes." The certainty rocks through me, built on fourteen years she doesn't know about. "I do."

I release the knife suddenly, letting her have it fully, then turn my back on her. The vulnerability of it, showing her I trust her even armed and furious, makes my cock throb. Behind me, her sharp intake of breath tells me everything.

"Follow me." I start walking deeper into my apartment, not checking if she's behind me. "Let me show you exactly what you want."

The silence stretches. My heartbeat counts the seconds. Then, footsteps. She's following.

I lead her through my living room, past the surveillance wall she's already seen, toward the hallway that leads to my bedroom.

But not the bedroom. The other door. The one I've been preparing since I moved in, knowing this moment would come.

Building it piece by piece while she slept on the other side of our shared wall.

My hand finds the doorknob. Sweat makes my palm slick. "You want to know what I know about your desires?"

No response, just her breathing, harsh and uneven, and the knowledge that she could run but isn't.

I turn the handle, push the door open, revealing what waits inside.

She takes one step forward. The amber light from the single lamp, amber because she mentioned once, three years ago, that it was the only light that didn't hurt her eyes after a migraine, illuminates everything.

The walls lined with deep purple fabric.

Purple because she wore it once, five years ago, and I've never forgotten how it made her skin glow.

In the center, a leather bench modified with restraints I tested on myself, making sure they wouldn't hurt her wrists.

Hooks in the ceiling rated for three times her weight, installed at exact heights I calculated based on her proportions.

A cabinet against the far wall, closed but full of things I've collected knowing what she'd need without being able to name it.

"What is this?" Her voice comes out strangled.

"What you need." I stay in the doorway, not crowding her, letting her see it all. "A place where you can stop being in control. Where someone else makes the decisions. Where you can finally let go knowing someone strong enough will catch you."

She stands at the threshold, looking in but not entering. The knife hangs forgotten in her hand now. Her entire body trembles as she takes in the deliberate preparation, the specific care, the weeks of building this space for a moment I prayed would come.

"You built this for—"

"For you. For us." I take her free hand, the one not holding the knife. Her fingers are ice cold, shaking.

Her breath comes in short gasps now. Looking into that room like it's everything she's afraid of and everything she's craved, unable to move forward or back. Standing on the knife's edge of decision.

"Isa." Her name pulls her attention to me. Our eyes meet, and I let her see everything. The obsession, the devotion, the absolute certainty that she needs this as much as I need to give it to her. "Let me show you what you want."

I step backward into the room, drawing her by our joined hands.

She resists for a heartbeat, then follows.

One step across the threshold. Then another.

The apartment door is still locked, but she could demand I open it.

Could scream. Could use that knife. Instead, she chooses this.

Chooses the cage because the hunger is stronger than the fear.

The room seems to breathe around us. Everything I built, everything I prepared, waiting for her.

She turns in a slow circle, taking in each detail.

The restraint points, the carefully chosen implements in the cabinet she can see through the glass, the bench that would hold her at the perfect height. Her whole body shudders.

Then she gasps.
