Chapter 29
Farrah
Iwas sitting on the top railing of the fence that surrounded Addison's outdoor riding arena, watching Lacey give Hadley a riding lesson.
Hadley was in heaven when she was on a horse.
Just like her mama. You couldn't wipe the smile from her face.
Lacey had Pancake attached to a long longe line, going in circles around her at a walk.
Today, they were practicing her balance and doing various exercises to help strengthen Hadley's seat.
"I think she's got the horse bug." Addison smiled as she climbed up the fence and settled next to me.
"Good thing I know a couple of people with horses to satisfy it."
Addison nodded, her eyes still on Lacey and Hadley. "So, how's everything going? I feel like I haven't seen you in a while, and it seems a lot has happened between you and Walk."
I laughed. "That's an understatement." I looked back out into the arena. Hadley was giggling at something Lacey said. "Everything’s going really well. I never thought we'd get here again. I feel really lucky, you know—to get a second chance."
"Girl, Walk would give you a thousand chances if you asked."
I looked over at Addison. "Maybe, but I'll do everything in my power not to mess up the chance I've got now."
Addison shifted on the rail to face me. "Do you think you’ll be able to handle everything that comes with his career? It can be a lot, and I know that was a point of contention with y'all before."
She had a point, but I felt confident this time around.
"I think so. I mean, if I want Walker, baseball comes with that.
It isn't an option. He took me to a game, and I was able to connect with a few of the other girlfriends and wives.
They've developed a support system with each other when the boys travel. They told me all about the fake media stories they’ve dealt with, the shitty comments from people, and how they handle it.
It's cool to know they’ve all got each other's backs.
" I paused and grinned. "Also didn't hurt to hear they’ve all known about me for a long time. That Walker has never been with anyone serious, and that whole playboy phase was short-lived. He’s been all about his career. "
Addison chuckled. "Yeah, I wouldn't worry about other girls, Farr. You’ve been the only girl for Walker since we were teenagers… maybe even before that." She glanced back out at Lacey and Hadley. "Has he talked to you about retiring next season?"
I turned to her, head tilted in confusion. "No? I thought next season was a for-sure thing?"
Addison shook her head. "Nope. He’s really struggling with the decision.
He claims it’s because he isn't sure he’s as strong as he was prior to the injury.
Doesn't want to disappoint his team and fans.
He's scared he’ll be forced into retirement because he isn't the pitcher he used to be.
" She pinned me with a look. "But I think there’s more to the story. I think he’s also scared that if he chooses baseball, he loses you—again.
That there isn't a world where you and baseball exist for him. "
I took a moment to process what she was saying. Walker hadn't mentioned any of this to me, and I wasn't sure why. I thought we’d agreed to more open and honest communication, that we would tell each other what we needed or wanted.
But maybe I was the only one ready for that.
I didn't blame Walker for being scared; I’d walked out on him before because of baseball. What proof did he have that I wouldn't do it again? That this wasn’t just the adult version of us before everything fell apart again, because I couldn’t handle it?
This time was different, though. I felt it. I just needed him to believe it too. I wasn't going anywhere, and I didn't want such a major decision for him to be based on that fear.
I needed to find a way to show him I was all in, because words weren’t enough.
I’d been at the Guyer project all day and was exhausted. Walker was driving back from Austin tonight, where he’d been for a few days practicing with the team.
We’d agreed to meet at my place since Hadley was with me. I pressed a kiss to Hadley's forehead. "Goodnight, Hady girl, I love you."
A sleepy smile spread across her sweet face. "I wuv you too, Mommy." Hadley snuggled into her blanket as she closed her eyes.
I stepped out of her room, quietly shutting the door behind me, when I heard the front door open.
I made my way into the kitchen to find Walker raiding my fridge. I took a moment to take him in. I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed him until he was standing right in front of me. And how quickly I wanted to close that distance.
His round baseball butt in gray joggers. A white T-shirt stretched across his sculpted shoulders. And the part that really turned me on—his Aviators hat on backward.
He closed the fridge and turned to face me, a knowing smirk on his face. "You see something you like, Wildflower?"
I nodded as I sauntered over to him. I ran my hands slowly up his broad chest before settling on his jaw to pull his mouth down to mine.
I ran my tongue along his bottom lip before slipping it inside.
Walker placed one of his hands at the base of my throat and lightly squeezed, his other hand slipping down to my ass.
The kiss intensified—as if we needed each other to breathe. To exist.
I broke the kiss, grabbed his hand, and led him to my bedroom.
Walker let out a soft chuckle. "All right, guess I'll eat later."
I glanced back at him over my shoulder. "I've got something better for you to eat." I threw him a wink as his eyes widened, a slow grin tugging at his lips.
Once we got into my room, I shoved him down onto the bed and straddled his lap. I pressed my lips to his. I sucked his bottom lip into my mouth before biting down, my hands pulling hard on his light brown strands.
He grabbed my throat firmly, pushing my mouth off his. "Oh, do you want it rough tonight, baby?"
I grinned as he applied more pressure to my throat.
"Take your clothes off and get on all fours," he ordered. His voice was deep and commanding, sending a thrilling shiver down my spine.
I did as I was told and positioned myself on the bed—face down, ass up.
He tugged off his shirt and then pushed down his joggers and boxer briefs before positioning himself behind me. He rubbed a large hand on my ass before swiping a finger through my center.
"You're fucking soaked, Wildflower. Do you like being bossed around? Like it when I choke you and pull your hair?” I glanced back at him and watched as he sucked his fingers into his mouth. His emerald stare burned into me. "You taste fucking delicious."
He bent down and shoved his tongue inside without warning, causing me to lurch forward.
He grabbed my hips to hold me steady as he tongue-fucked me.
Spreading me wide, he slowly licked across my pussy.
When he sucked my clit into his mouth, he slipped the tip of his finger inside my ass, curling it slightly.
It was all too much—the sensation, the pleasure. My body began to tremble.
"Fuck…Walker, I'm going to come," I moaned loudly. My voice desperate, unrecognizable.
He pulled his mouth off me. "I know, baby.
" He dove back in and continued his torture until I fell apart on his tongue.
He didn't ease up until every tremor dissipated, leaving me completely wrecked.
I wanted to lie there and enjoy my post orgasm bliss, but Walker had other plans.
Without warning, he lifted me back up onto my knees and plunged his thick cock deep inside.
I yelped in surprise, but the pain quickly turned to pleasure as I dropped my head forward.
"Tell me. Did Ryan fuck you like this? Rough, the way you like it? Or was he sweet and gentle? Thinking you could break?"
Ryan?
I shook my head.
"No, what? No, he wasn't sweet and gentle, or no, he didn't fuck you rough?" he growled.
I didn't know what Walker this was, but I was here for it.
Walker continued to slam into me, refusing to let up. My legs were shaking, and my eyes began to water, but it felt fucking incredible. He reached down and grabbed my hair, pulling my head back, waiting for my answer.
"He didn't fuck me rough. He didn't fuck me like you do," I finally said, breathlessly.
He released my hair, causing my head to drop forward as he ran his hands up and down my back tenderly.
I loved the contrast.
"Who did you think of when you were fucking him?" One of his hands moved to the back of my neck, his grip tight.
Okay then, back to rough.
"I don't remember," I smirked, because I felt like being a brat.
The joke was on me, because he tightened the grip on my neck with one hand and slapped my ass so hard with the other that I screamed.
"Not the right answer, Wildflower." His voice was laced with menace.
I arched my back and shoved my ass back into him, taking each thrust, keeping up with his pace. Walker groaned my name before slipping a hand to my clit, and the delicious pressure began to build again.
"You," I said breathlessly. "Always you." I glanced at him over my shoulder. His eyes were hooded, full of desire, and aimed right at me. "I can't come without you, Ace."
That was all it took, those words, and he let go. His head dropped back as my name left his lips, pulling me to the brink right along with him. Once we both came down from what was probably the most intense orgasm I’d ever had, he wrapped me in his arms.
"Fuck, Wildflower. It doesn't get any better than you."
I tilted my head up to look at him. "Right back at ya, Ace."
