Chapter 17

Chapter

Seventeen

brONWYN

Ican’t think.

I can barely breathe.

My senses are full of him. He’s everywhere. His hands are burned into every inch of flesh he touches as he takes me higher and higher. I’m teetering on the edge of the cliff. He knows it’s not enough to push me over the edge.

Without warning, he turns the speed of the toy up, making the silicone tongue lap at my clit faster; the vibrations coming on that much stronger. The familiar tingling sensation I crave is starting at the base of my spine, but it’s not enough. He knows it’s not enough.

“Tell me who owns you, cara, and I’ll give you this dick,” Gio rumbles, making my inner walls clench.

The thought of him stretching me again is almost enough to send me over the edge. Almost.

“You do,” I choke out. Tears prick at the corners of my eyes from the desperation I feel for his cock. My pussy feels empty and hollow, craving a feeling only he can fulfill.

The toy shuts off, and Gio tosses it on the bed before quickly shedding his boxers.

He settles between my legs, and I feel his thick head at my entrance.

He doesn’t give me a warning before slamming home, making my back arch as my hands latch onto his back.

I drag my nails down, breaking skin as the light pain from the stretch of him subsides.

My inner walls clenching him tight, not wanting to let him go.

“Fuck, yeah,” Gio growls in my ear as he nuzzles my neck. “It feels good to be home.”

His pace is fast and hard, leaving nothing and taking everything.

“Gio,” I whine. It’s so close but so far away.

“Let go, baby. I got you. Christ, I’ll always fucking catch you.”

His thumb goes to my clit as he thrusts deep, and I’m gone. A scream rips from my throat as I soar over the edge. Gio lets out a curse as I take him with me, emptying everything he has inside me.

I feel like I’m floating as Gio collapses on top of me. I take his weight. He feels like a warm blanket. I’ve never felt safer in my entire life than I do in this moment. Gio places a kiss on my lips before he pulls out of me and rolls off to the side, wrapping me up in his arms.

I let out a whimper at the loss of him.

“My baby likes my cock,” Gio mutters, pleased with himself.

“Don’t flatter yourself,” I say as I playfully slap his chest and roll my eyes.

My body still isn’t used to the size of him. I know I’m going to be sore tomorrow.

“I don’t want to ruin the moment, but I need to know, are you on the pill?” Gio asks as he twirls a strand of my hair.

I tense as I feel the evidence of us trickle down my thighs.

Shit.

How could I have been so stupid? I’ve never had sex without a condom before. I’m on the pill and clean, but that’s beside the point. This should have been a conversation before we decided to take this step together.

“Hey,” Gio says as he gently squeezes my shoulder, breaking my thoughts.

“I can practically hear the wheels turning in that pretty head of yours. I’m clean.

I don’t like to talk about past relationships because it makes me all kinds of fucking angry, but I want to ease your mind and tell you that you’re the first woman I’ve lost control with and fucked raw.

And if you’re not on the pill, we’ll deal. ”

I’m doing an internal dance at being the first one he hasn’t used a condom with. Knowing I made him so crazy and lost in the moment that he forgot is the best feeling. However… We’ll deal?

How can he be so blasé about this?

“We’ll deal?” I choke out.

“Yeah. I like kids. It wouldn’t be unwanted.”

It wouldn’t be unwanted?

“Are…are you trying to have a kid with me?” I ask slowly, scared of where this conversation is going.

Gio lets out a laugh. “Not trying, no. But I do want kids. For future reference.”

“I’m on the pill,” I blurt out, unsure of what else to say.

“Then we have nothing to worry about.”

“Don’t you want to know if I’m clean?” I ask, wondering why he didn’t ask me.

“I know you’re clean, cara. With a cunt as pretty and tight as yours, I know I’m one of the few ones to get up in there.”

“Hmm,” I mumble, not liking his smug tone.

“I’ll be right back,” Gio says as he releases the hold he has on me and climbs out of bed.

I watch his naked body as he disappears into the bathroom. We just finished, but the sight of his bare ass walking away from me does something to me. A few moments later, he emerges with a washcloth.

“Spread,” he orders, making my eyes flare with need.

Is he ready to go again?

“Not that.” Gio smirks down at me. “We need to work up to it. I took you hard, cara. Are you sore?”

I nod.

I can feel him everywhere.

“Good,” he murmurs as he brings the wet cloth between my legs.

I jump slightly from the cool feeling touching the place that’s still warm with need. I sigh as Gio takes care of me, the soreness between my legs easing from the cool cloth.

“Feel good?”

“Yeah,” I whisper.

“Good,” Gio responds just as softly. “Be back.”

“Kay.” My eyes slowly close as he leaves the bed.

For the first time in what feels like forever, my mind has finally stopped running a million miles a minute. I’m sated, and the exhaustion has hit full force. Who knew the person who was giving me a headache could also be the one to take it away?

I hope he’s staying. All I want to do now is curl up with him and pass out.

“You sleeping?” Gio asks as I moan softly in response, not opening my eyes. I feel the bed dip as he settles in beside me. “I need you to eat something before you go to sleep for the night. I know you don’t eat while you’re at work.”

I open one eye and study him. “How do you know that?”

“Good guess.” The corner of his lip tips up as he shoves a paper plate my way. “Here. I brought the pizza I owe you.”

Sliding up into a sitting position so my back is against my headboard, I take the plate from him. “Thank you.”

It looks delicious. The cheese is a perfect golden brown and all the toppings are dispersed evenly. Nothing annoys me more than when you get a pizza and all of your toppings are in one bite because then you’re left with a slice of cheese pizza.

“How did you know I like pepperoni, mushroom, and onion?” I ask. It just dawned on me that he never asked what I wanted on my pizza.

He’s a man who takes control in every aspect of life, and I hate to say I like it. He gives me the peace of not having to worry or think about even the smallest things, like what I want on my pizza. He takes the reins while also making me feel like I’m still in control of my life.

“Because it’s my favorite.” Gio winks before taking a bite of his slice.

Another thing in common.

I study him for a moment, taking him in.

His beard is slightly overgrown from how he usually keeps it, but he looks relaxed.

Not so poised and controlled. When I first met Gio, he looked like he was one more stupid comment away from killing someone.

But now? Now he looks free. He looks alive.

I hope it’s a look only I bring out of him and that I get to see.

Maybe he is right that we’re made for each other because in our own way, I think we might just set each other free.

I join him, taking a bite out of the slice he brought me. “Holy shit,” I exclaim in between bites. “This is so good.”

“The pizzeria isn’t just a front. I know how to make a pie.”

My eyes widen as I chew. “A front?”

A front for what?

Holy shit. What am I living above? If the police come and raid the place, am I going to be taken into custody as an accessory because I live upstairs? It wouldn’t be a stretch to assume I hear what goes on.

Oh my god.

I’m not cut out for prison. I would be someone’s bitch so fast. Look how easily I give into my dad who has treated me like shit my entire life.

“Cara,” Gio cuts in, bringing me out of my head. “Stop thinking about it. I was joking.”

Yeah, right.

“Why do I get the feeling that you’re lying now?”

“I’m not lying. It’s not just a front, but that’s all you need to know. The less you know, the better, yeah?”

I guess that makes sense. If he doesn’t tell me anything, I wouldn’t have to lie if I ever got questioned because technically I don’t know anything.

“Okay,” I eventually agree.

“Okay,” Gio repeats, his attention on me as he shoves the last bite of his pizza into his mouth. His carefree expression slowly morphs into one that looks like annoyance. “Do you need to tell your friend you won’t be back online?”

Shit.

I forgot that I had told him I would play.

His tone sounds normal, but something about the look on his face tells me that if I don’t answer his question correctly, I’m going to be in big trouble.

“I should probably tell him I’m not going to be on after all…” I answer slowly as I wait for his reaction.

“Of course. I wouldn’t want you to be rude to Mr. Fuck Around And Find Out.”

Okay, I feel like I’m missing something here. What does he have against Wiz?

“Do you have a problem with me playing online?”

“I have a problem with you playing online with men who want to get in your pants.”

“What?” I ask, my voice rising as I sit up straight. “He doesn’t want to get in my pants!”

Gio looks at me like I’m stupid as he remains silent.

“Don’t look at me like that.” I’m getting pissed off again. My mellow mood was good while it lasted. I should have known he would piss me off again. “He doesn’t want to get in my pants. Our relationship isn’t like that.”

“Why don’t you enlighten me on what it’s like then,” Gio says as he crosses his arms and settles into the corner, his eyes boring a hole into my soul.

I don’t like the accusation in his tone. I haven’t given him one single reason not to believe what I tell him is true.

“We play online. We’re online friends. That’s it.” If he wasn’t being such an asshole about this, I would explain more, but right now I don’t think he deserves it.

“That’s it?”

“Why do you not believe me?”

“Because he seemed to know a lot more about your life than just online games.”

“Okay, yeah,” I set my plate down on the comforter, throwing my hands up in the air dramatically.

“He knows when I can’t sleep or when I’m in a bad mood because usually when either of those are happening I get online to escape.

That’s what video games are for. To escape reality.

But that’s as far as it goes. He doesn’t know when I go to work or come home.

He doesn’t know when I get my period. And he sure as hell doesn’t know when I’m on a date!

” I’m full-on yelling now, but Gio doesn’t seem fazed.

Gio is silent as he stacks my plate on top of his and climbs out of bed, heading into the kitchen.

I watch as he throws them in the trash before shutting off the kitchen light and moving to the living room.

He grabs my controller. I’m too far away from the screen to read, but I can make out that he has the chat open and he’s typing.

He must have been satisfied because he shuts my system off before turning the light off in the living room.

My apartment is black now. As my eyes adjust, I make out Gio’s shadowy figure heading my way. His knee hits the bed before he climbs over me, settling back in his spot. He reaches down, grabbing the comforter and dragging it over us, tucking us in.

I slide down, laying my head on my pillow. The only thing that can be heard throughout the room is our breathing, mine tense and his… I don’t know what this is but it can’t be good. Gio isn’t silent.

“What did you tell him?” I finally work up the balls to ask as I lay there staring up at the ceiling.

“Something he should have already known. Go to sleep. I don’t want you tired for family dinner tomorrow.”

Ugh.

Family dinner might just be the death of me.
