Chapter 48 Calliope

I took the hand Dax offered me, allowing him to pull me from Ayden’s arms. He guided me across the room until I was next to Caleb. The damned omega was grinning up at me. “I wonder how long you’ll be smiling for when my mate starts killing your pack one by one.”

Dax’s hand slipped into his pocket, and he offered me a small bag. My heart started to pound as I took it from him. Opening that bag, I was stunned for a moment, unable to process the gift that made my heart soar. My fingers slid inside, carefully pulling out a set of brass knuckles. He took the bag from my hand, giving me time to slide the knuckles on my right hand. They fit like they had been custom made for me. Seeing as this was one of Dante’s creations, I knew they had been.

“You’re not going to do shit,” Caleb snapped. I didn’t bother to respond to that, instead pulling my arm back. It shot forward, slamming into his face with a satisfying crunch. Blood trickled from the spots where the obsidian had broken off in his cheek. “You fucking bitch!”

Dax moved before I could, taking a hold of Caleb’s cheek and pulling his tongue out with two fingers. The blade in Dax’s hand came up, slicing cleanly through the muscle. Blood poured from the injury soaking Caleb’s chin and shirt.

Turning to my alpha, I looked up at him. Releasing the severed tongue, he lifted an eyebrow at me in question. “I thought you liked to listen to the omega beg and scream?”

“That used to be the case.” He crowded into my space, catching my chin in his hand, and lifting it, eyes that sparkled with love stared into my soul. “Now, I only want to hear my omega begging for her alpha’s cock and listen to her screaming my name.”

“Why is that so hot?” Cain’s laughing voice brought a grin to my face.

“It’s the utter devotion in his voice,” Ayden commented. “You and Calliope used to look at me that way.”

“We still do.” I looked over at him, letting all the love I felt for him show through. “You just stopped noticing.”

“Why the fuck am I tied up?” Jeremy was awake now. Good. I stepped away from Dax and went to the other man. He stared down at me with contempt in his eyes. “When I get free of this, I’m going to fuck you until you break.”

I laughed in his face, reaching up and grabbing his throat. “You won’t be fucking anything ever again.”

The conversation was cut off by the rest of the men waking up. They struggled trying to get out of the ropes. Caleb tried to call out to them, but without his tongue all he was able to do was grunt. It would have been amusing if not for how pathetic he looked. None of the men on the ground seemed to know what to do. All of their gazes moved to where Jeremy was hanging. They started to speak as one just to be cut off by Dax’s voice. “Everyone has joined the party. Wonderful. We can get started now.”

“I’m sure we can work something out,” Jeremy started.

“I’m going to make one thing perfectly clear.” Dax retrieved a knife from his belt and went to Caleb. He ran the blade along the omega’s chest, pressing just enough that a line of blood welled in its wake. “None of you are in control right now. Usually, I wait until everyone is conscious to make my point to the pack. But your omega took that choice from me.”

“What did you do to Caleb?” The frantic tone in Jeremy’s voice almost made me feel bad for him. Almost.

“He said some disparaging things about Calliope. And we can’t have that now, can we?” Dax reached up with his free hand, grabbing Caleb’s cheeks and forcing what was left of the omega’s tongue out. “I’m afraid I had to take rather drastic measures.”

“You son of a bitch,” Jeremy snapped. “I can’t wait to wipe you off the face of the Earth.”

Dax ignored him moving away from Caleb and going to the lined-up men. “Now we’re going to play my favorite game.”

“We aren’t playing any fucking games,” the alpha closest to Caleb spat.

“You all seem to think you have a choice in the matter.” Cain crossed the room, Ayden beside him. “The minute Jeremy touched our omega half a decade ago, he signed your entire pack’s death warrant.”

“You fucking bastard. I told you dealing omegas would get us killed.” His growl would have been intimidating if I didn’t have Ayden and his deep rumble that vibrated your bones.

“It was your idea to make that damn site.”

“Not my fault Caleb is so fucking expensive.” Jeremy’s voice was as close to a bark as I ever wanted to hear from him.

“Back to my game.” Dax commanded the room as he crossed to the line of men sitting there. “It’s something I like to call ‘Who is the Omega’s Favorite?’” He didn’t allow any of them to reply. He ran his blade across the exposed skin of their chests. When he reached the last in line, Caleb started to fight against his bindings, thrashing so much I thought he might topple over. “And we have a winner!”

Flipping the knife into the air, he shot me a wink as he caught it in midair. Using the same movement, he slammed the blade hilt-deep into the beta’s brain. His entire pack stared, as the life bled out of him. The only thing keeping him alive at the moment was Dax’s knife in his brain. Dax knew as much, fixing his gaze on Caleb as he pulled the blade from the beta’s skull.

Caleb released a primal scream of anguish that made Dax laugh. I felt the joy he had at the pure depraved violence of the act. It should have scared me, but instead I was soaked watching him in his element. He repeated the process, choosing an alpha this time. Pulling the alpha to his feet, Dax dragged him in front of Caleb. The omega’s eyes widened in shock as Dax plunged his blade into the alpha’s chest. From the rattling sound of his bleeding, I knew Dax had punctured a lung. Dax pulled the blade out with a flourish, letting the alpha fall to the floor.

He came to me, his eyes sparkling with blood-lust. It was the sexiest thing I had ever seen. I met him halfway, taking the blade from his hand and holding it off to the side. Someone came to take it from me, and I used my now free hand to slide down his chest. Tugging at his shirt, I pulled it over his head, tossing it off into the room.

“What are you doing, my love?” The rumble of his voice made me want to wrap my legs around his head and have him growl against my clit.

I allowed my perfume to fill the room. “I need my alpha.”

That was all he needed to hear. His pants hit the floor, as he ripped the bra and boy shorts from my body. He moved in close, wrapping his hands around my hips and lifting me. I leaned against his chest, my slick dripping down to coat the head of his cock. Wrapping my legs around him, he lowered us to the floor. The cold wood floor pressed against my back making my legs untangle from around him. He caught the backs of my legs, pushing them until my knees rested against my chest.

“You look so fucking hot, love, with your pussy spread wide and waiting for my knot.” Using one large hand, he held both legs pinned. The free hand he slid between us, taking hold of his cock and tapping the head against my clit. Pleasure moved through me like electricity, making every inch of me sensitive. “Such a beautiful little cumslut you are.”

“Please, Alpha,” I begged.

He slid his head between my lips, teasing me with just the beginning of him. Pushing forward he slid inside me sinking in until his knot was resting against me. Each thrust was deliberate, sliding over my g-spot. I was so close to the edge it wouldn’t take much to push me over it into oblivion. His hand slid between us, fingers finding my clit. They moved quickly, driving me insane. I clamped down around him, his hand moving from my clit to wrap it around his knot.

“Now is not the time to knot you.” That made a whine build in my throat. “I’ll make it up to you later.”

“Promise?”

“I promise you, my love.” His words made me smile hearing the promise there. I looked up and caught Ayden’s eye, he was standing against the wall his arm tight around Cain. The lust in their eyes was palpable as they had watched me and Dax.
