Chapter 10 Responsibility
"Then come."
I actually wanted to know what it felt like to truly die.
Sa'er: ...
"Has no one really ever hit you?"
I smiled. "Apparently not."
The way Sa'er bristled was incredibly cute. It made me want to knead and squeeze him.
"You really don't want this leg anymore?"
His body and emotions were still unstable after the heat period.
Even so, he didn't know how to take care of a leg that wasn't fully healed yet, constantly throwing himself into water.
I applied medicine to him one last time and warned, "Don't let there be a next time."
Sa'er stopped talking back. He studied my expression. After hearing my rather harsh words, he suddenly turned obedient.
"Okay."
I discussed serious matters with him. "Are you willing to do something for me?"
"What?"
"Help me destroy a place."
Sa'er asked, "Where?"
I pulled up a map on the communicator and tapped the red-marked spot. "Monster Research Institute."
A flash of fear and hatred crossed Sa'er's face. After two seconds of silence, he refused.
"I'm not going."
"I'll provide weapons and manpower. You only need to kill. Even that doesn't work?"
"It doesn't."
Sa'er's firm attitude made me hesitate.
Fine. I never force a fish to do what he doesn't want.
Before I left the cell, Sa'er called out to me again. "That place is very dangerous. Don't get involved too deeply."
"Understood. Thank you."
