Chapter 16 Two Days Later

Two days later, the Monster Supervision Office had been restored to its original state. There was no sign that it had just suffered a riot.

I brought Sa'er to the armory. "Pick something convenient."

Sa'er looked at the full stock of weapons. "Do you really trust me?"

"Of course. I don't employ people I suspect."

Sa'er nodded. "Alright. Tell me who to kill."

"Monster Research Institute. Leave no one alive."

"Okay."

"Wait for me."

Sa'er left with a large group of monsters from the supervision area. Baishuang asked me if I wasn't afraid they would rebel.

The answer was yes. I wasn't afraid.

The Monster Supervision Office was the only place that gave them food and shelter without pursuit.

The battle on Sa'er's side was raging fiercely, yet he still found time to send me a voice video. In the footage, he nimbly dodged the dust kicked up by cannon fire. His eyes narrowed with a sharp edge.

"I'll finish my revenge soon and come back right away."

"Okay."

"Where are you?"

"In the office."

"Suiyu, don't hang up yet. I have something to tell you."

"Speak."

Sa'er found new cover and loaded his sniper rifle. "If I complete the mission you gave me, can I ask for a reward?"

"What do you want?"

His earlobes turned slightly red. "I want..." He mouthed the words without making a sound.

"I want you."

His eyes lit up. I said mercilessly, "Get those dirty thoughts out of your head."

"...Sorry."

Why did he actually apologize?

"It's not like we can't negotiate."

Sa'er moved closer to the camera. "I'm about to tear down the institute. See you."

See you?

I shook my head at the screen.

Sa'er didn't actually want to end the call. He cut the feed before the next scenes turned violent.
