Chapter 12 Marfil #2
I closed my eyes, suppressing a sigh.
“You shouldn’t have done it,” he whispered very close to my ear, tightly gripping my side with his free hand. “Your skin is too pretty to mark it up with ink.”
“You think so?” I asked, looking at him in the mirror. I could see a conflict being waged behind his eyes. The way his fingers gripped my waist so tightly made me think that, like me, he wanted to take things further… much further.
He didn’t answer, and the silence stretched out for a few seconds.
Not being able to take his lack of an answer much longer, I raised a hand and pulled down the sleeve of my leotard to expose my shoulder and the upper part of my breast. I knew one of two things could happen: either he would undress me, which I doubted, or he would lift my sleeve back into place.
“Don’t do that,” he said, responding the way I’d expected.
His fingers grazed my arm as he pulled my leotard up. Once again, his touch gave me goose bumps, and he paused for a second, his eyes fixed on my pale skin, before he ran his fingers quickly back down my arm.
I thought I would melt into a puddle right then and there, until I felt him step back.
“All done. You should go back to studying.”
My eyes met his in the mirror. “I should, but I don’t want to,” I replied, now facing him.
“Am I going to have to drag you out?”
I pretended to consider it. “Would that mean you put your hands on me again? Because if so, go ahead. You have my permission.”
Sebastian took another step back. I hadn’t realized how close we’d still been until he was right in front of me. “Be careful what you wish for, Marfil, it might be more than you can handle.”
His response only inspired my perverted mind, which he must’ve seen in my eyes because before I could give a clever response, he squeezed my cheeks with one of his hands, impeding me from speaking.
“Please, don’t say anything,” he said, staring intently at my pursed lips.
“I think I can handle…” I started to say, but he leaned down and pressed his lips against my ear.
“It’s not going to happen, Elephant. I’ll never put this job in jeopardy, no matter how breathtaking you are.”
What did he just call me?
“Did you just call me an elephant?” I asked, incredulous.
“Didn’t you say they named you after that beautiful animal?” he asked, laughing.
“Are you trying to be funny? I told—”
“I know what you told me, Marfil,” he interrupted without missing a beat. “I also remember you saying elephants are your favorite animal. And as a reminder to you, I’ll say it again—it tracks.” He moved to the door and gestured for me to leave. “But that doesn’t make you any less annoying.”
“You just said I was breathtaking, now you’re calling me annoying… Yesterday you said I was unbearable…”
“You are.”
“And a spoiled brat,” I added, moving to the door.
“That’s undeniable.”
I stopped in front of him. “You can call me whatever you want… but you’re dying to kiss me.”
Sebastian pressed his lips together without taking his eyes off mine.
Our attraction to each other seemed to become more obvious in the silence that stretched between us.
I stood very still as he slowly leaned over, stopping his face just a few inches from my mouth. I held my breath and closed my eyes.
“You need to leave,” he said finally.
I opened my eyes and looked at him in surprise. “What?” I answered. “No.”
Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed deeply. “Please…”
“I want a kiss,” I said, crossing my arms.
Sebastian lowered his hand and looked at me in disbelief. “Marfil…”
“Don’t Marfil me. You were just about to kiss me a second ago.”
Sebastian seemed to be torn between killing me, kissing me, or pushing me out of the bathroom.
“You can’t tell me what to do.”
“And you can’t start something and leave it half finished,” I said, taking a step toward him.
“You can get as close as you want, but you’re not tall enough to kiss me,” he said without batting an eye.
He was right… but his lips weren’t the only part of him I could kiss.
Without taking my eyes off him, I gently pressed my lips into the highest part of him I could reach while standing on my tiptoes: his collarbone. I noticed his breathing hitched for a split second.
Suddenly, without as much as a flinch, I had his fingers gripping the back of my neck, pulling my head away, his face leveled with mine.
“You’re not used to anyone ever telling you no,” he began in a whisper. “But I’m a person with too much self-control for you to—”
I leaned forward without hesitating and pressed my mouth to his, interrupting his lecture.
God… my body was overwhelmed with pleasure.
Sebastian stiffened momentarily; I’d caught him by surprise. Key word being momentarily. Before I knew it, he began kissing me back, a hoarse groan escaping his throat.
Who had gotten their way?
I had.
Unfortunately, it all came to an end quicker than I wanted to.
“Fuck, Marfil!” he exclaimed, pulling away from me and running a hand over his face. He looked furious. “I can’t do this!”
“Why not?” I asked. “Who’s stopping you?”
“I can’t,” he said, emphasizing each word.
I removed my high ponytail and let my hair swing loose. Then I proceeded to stay just like that, not a single movement, looking him in the eye.
Time seemed to stand still. We remained silent, locked in a staring contest, until he finally made a decision.
One second, we were staring each other down, and the next his mouth was on mine. This time, his kiss was unhesitating, firm, as if he wanted to make me pay for having caused him to lose all self-control.
He pressed my back into the wall and gripped my waist, as if it were the anchor that kept him rooted to the ground.
Tasting his mouth, inhaling his scent, his tongue more desperate for me than I ever thought possible, I wrapped my hands around his head and twisted my fingers into his hair, trembling as his hands slid up my sides until his palms practically covered my entire back.
“Tell me to stop,” he said, his mouth against my moist lips.
“Don’t stop, please,” I moaned against his mouth.
A curse escaped his lips, and we once again merged into a passionate kiss that left us breathless. He proceeded to trace kisses down my neck, his teeth grazing my throat, then licked me gently, driving me totally wild.
As if this moment couldn’t get any better, he picked me up effortlessly and sat me on the counter.
I sighed and grabbed his T-shirt, pulling him to me, wanting to feel every inch of him. I settled for clawing my nails along his back, and when I pressed my tongue into his, his mouth desperately devoured mine.
Were we seriously making out?
I gripped him tightly, wanting that moment to last a lifetime. For the first time in years, I felt alive; for the first time in a long time, I felt something when a man touched me, when a man kissed me.
I rubbed up against his erection and pressed harder into it, experiencing the impossible, wanting more, so much more.
But just as a sigh of pleasure escaped my lips, Sebastian cut the kiss off abruptly, as if suddenly realizing what had just happened, as if unable to believe what we’d done.
“I’m taking my three hours,” he said, throwing me one last glance before leaving the bathroom.
I sat frozen in place, my heart beating out of control as the door slammed shut—further cementing the moment coming to an end.
