Chapter 13 Sebastian
I cursed everyone and everything, most of all myself, as I sped to my destination, far away from Marfil. What the hell was I thinking?
I wasn’t, and that was the problem.
Filled with rage, I slammed hard on the accelerator, and before I knew it, I was almost outside the city.
I pulled over on the shoulder and took out my cell phone to check on her through the cameras. Marfil was sitting on the couch with Liam beside her. They were talking.
Why the hell did I care?
Who was I kidding? I had fallen into her trap like an idiot.
I had given in, completely unable to control myself at the sight of her half-naked body before me, noticing how she reacted to my simple caresses, how her body was more sensitive to my touch than any woman I’d ever been with.
She was a fucking nymph, with her bright eyes and dark hair, her body so fucking killer it could give you a heart attack.
I cursed aloud and punched the steering wheel, startling myself as I accidentally honked the horn. How could I have been so stupid? I had to quit. If Cortés found out what had happened, he’d kill me. If he found out about the mistake I’d made, all hell would break loose.
I opened the glove compartment and checked that the 9mm Glock 19 was still where I’d left it. It was my duty to protect her; that’s what I had to do. I could figure everything else out later. But one thing was for certain: I would never again lay a finger on Marfil Cortés.
