“Petty ass, I swear I wanna wring her fucking neck. I’on believe she left me handcuffed to my muthafuckin’ bed.” Norie vented to his brother as he stood across from him at the counter, mugging Evie.
Even though he was annoyed with her, Norie couldn’t stop thinking about or looking at Evie’s sexy ass, but then again that was nothing new.
He was infatuated, fascinated, and obsessed with her ass, which was constantly rubbing him the wrong way.
Mostly because his love for her was unlike anything he’d ever experienced, and that had she not done what she did, he would’ve wifed her foine ass up a long time ago.
“Nigga,” His brother Marshon looked him upside his head, snapping him out of the daze he’d slipped into as he washed his hands and headed to the fridge to grab everything he needed to prepare dinner.
“You drugged her to keep her from going on a date. The fuck you thought was gon’ happen?
Shit, you lucky all she did was leave you cuffed to a bed. ”
“Shon, it wasn’t that serious, bro. I only drugged her smart-mouth having ass a lil bit.
I only put a couple punk-ass sleeping pills in her drink.
Yeah, it was the strong shit that gotta be prescribed to you, but her grouchy ass needed the rest. Shit, she should be thanking me for making sure she got her beauty sleep.
I ain’t want nothing to happen to her, and I stayed until she woke up before I snuck out. ”
“Bruh, listen to me,” Norie chuckled at his brother’s audacity.
“I’on care how you dress it up; you were wrong.
So her crash out was very much justified.
But all you gotta do is accept the fact that clearly her petty ain’t got shit on yo’ petty and apologize to her.
Then put that fuckin’ ring on her finger like you’ve been wanting to do for years. ”
“Man whateva, that ain’t you talking, that’s ya wife putting words in ya mouth.” Norie looked back over at Evie and bit down on his bottom lip. He felt some typa way about the stunt she pulled, but all he could think about at the moment was fucking the shit outta her.
“Norie,” Marshon glanced up from the chicken breasts he was cutting pockets into for the spinach and cheese and chuckled at his brother after following his line of vision across the room.
“You know better nigga, don’t play wit’ me.
This is me talking to ya slow-acting ass.
You fucking up. And I ain’t call yo’ ass over here to stare Evie down; I need you to let me know if you’re gonna pose for the Freaky Links calendar for Kamryn’s new candle line.
So answer the question, Norie: yes or no?
And let me remind you that no isn’t an option. ”
Norie finally tore his eyes away from Evie, who was sitting in the living room laughing with Kamryn and Kamila, and focused his attention on his brother. “Shon, the fuck you ask me for, if you was gon’ tell me I ain’t have a choice?”
Marshon chuckled again, then said, “I was trying to be nice. But we both know that whatever my girl wants, she gets.”
“Nigga, I can’t stand you or you damn girl. Y’all both some fucking lunatics.” Norie straightened from the counter and went to pour himself a glass of pop. “Just ‘cause I’m the little brother and I love ya punk-ass, don’t mean I’mma just entertain ya bullshit, my dude.”
“Norie, that’s exactly what that shit means,” Marshon chuckled as he stuffed the last chicken breasts and washed his hands and the bowl that had the mixture in it. “So now that all that shits outta the way and you down to help my baby, I need to know one more thing.”
“Whatever it is, the answer is no.”
“Bruh, I’m being serious.”
“Shit, so am I, Shon. The fuck?! I ain’t doing shit else fa you or my big-headed sister in love, either.”
“Aye, ease up off my girl, bruh,” Marshon chuckled as he placed the chicken breasts in the oven and began preparing his sides. “And I ain’t asking no favors this time. I just wanna know if you down to do this now that Evie’s got a nigga.”
Norie met his brother’s concerned stare and frowned before he crossed the room to their liquor cabinet for something stronger to drink.
“Evie dating somebody? How long have you known, Shon? And what the fuck do she gotta go wit’—nigga, I should beat yo’ ass.
Why you got me believing I was doing this photo shoot solo? ”
“Nigga, I thought Kamryn told you when she first asked you a few weeks back. I ain’t know you ain’t know that she ain’t tell you that you had to do the shoot wit’ Evie.”
“Nah, he filled his cup with Hennessy.” She conveniently left that part out, and both ya left out the part about Evie having a nigga.
“Norie, I tried to tell ya bullheaded ass ‘bout her and dude, but you said, and I quote, “I’on wanna hear shit about Evie. Fuck that girl.”
“Bullshit, Shon. You know how I feel about that girl. You know how bad I want her and what she means to me.” Norie hated feeling and showing any vulnerability when it came to the people he cared about.
Especially when he was still paying for loving so hard from years ago.
Being in love and dealing with a broken trust had really done a number on him.
“Then quit fucking around, Norie, and let her know that shit. And while we’re on the muthafuckin subject nigga, I told you to drop that shit about Evie being loyal to Kam.
I appreciate the support, but you know I would’ve done the same thing for you, and you would’ve done the same shit for me and that nigga, Preach.
I got my woman. You ‘bout to let the one you want get away over some shit I told you to go see somebody about a long time ago.”
Norie scratched his forehead, then began massaging the side of his head as he leaned against the counter and let his brother’s words settle.
He knew his brother was right, but he damn sure ain’t wanna hear the shit.
Especially not in the same breath as the bomb he just dropped on him.
It ate at his core that he allowed his stubborn pettiness to blind him to the fact that Evie was in a fucking whole ass relationship.
“So her nigga cool wit’ this shoot and shit?” Norie asked after finally finding his words. He sipped his Hennessy while massaging his temples as he waited for his brother to respond.
“Fuck if I know, Norie,” Marshon shrugged as he rinsed a fresh batch of green beans and some squash and zucchini. “All I know is that she’ll be at the shoot, Thursday.”
“Why Kam ain’t just ask Evie to ask her nigga to pose with her? Seems like that would?—”
“Norie, you’re asking me to try to figure out the mind of a woman. I’on know, nigga. You’ll have to ask her, but if you really don’t feel up to it, especially now that you know Evie got a nigga, I’ll just let her know you got other plans.”
“Nah, Norie shook his head as he placed his glass on the counter. “I’ll do it. Just uh, gimme a minute.”
Marshon nodded as he watched his brother head through the sliding glass door and out onto the patio. Norie had just lit a blunt when he heard the sliding door open. “Shon, if you ‘bout to say anything ‘bout?—”
“It's me, Norie,” Evie said almost cautiously as she approached. “After Shon called Kam and me into the kitchen and ripped us a new one for leaving you in the dark about my relationship status, he told me to get my ass out here and see about you. I’on like that nigga sometimes, but I love how he loves my bestie.”
“You ain’t gotta see about me, I’m good. I do have a question for you though since you brought ya shady ass out here,” Norie hit his blunt as he leaned against the railing and crossed his legs at the ankles.
“Norie, listen.” She approached him and stood beside him as she ran her hands over her arms. “I get that you feel a way, so in honor of the bond we used to have, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know.
But not if you’re going to keep hurling false insults at me like I don’t have feelings.
Or like the shit is even true in the first place.
Just because I did something you don’t like doesn’t mean I was wrong.
If you don’t wanna fuck with me no more, fine.
But either you find a way to respect and coexist with me, or we act like total strangers and move on with our lives.
So what’s it gonna be? Are we gonna be cordial or what? ”
Norie released a deep sigh before he took another pull of his blunt. “You know I’on do well with ultimatums. I’mma keep it cordial wit you though, for now.”
“Fine.” Evie couldn’t stand that her clit started pulsating just from being in his presence and gazing into his eyes. “If that’s how you wanna go about it. Do you.”
“So why you ain’t tell me you had a nigga, Evie? You been letting me suck and fuck the shit outta you and ain’t told me a gotdamn thing ‘bout you being in a fucking relationship? Why?”
“It ain’t like you gave me a chance to say anything to you last night, seeing as how you literally kept every hole on my body filled to capacity.
And I don’t know when you’re gonna kiss me.
You have a really bad habit of just snatching me up and putting your lips any and everywhere on my body that you want. I?—”
“Chill on the bullshit, Evie,” he exhaled a cloud of smoke and then offered the blunt to her. “You had plenty of time to let me know that you belonged to another nigga. How long you been in a relationship?”
Smiling, she took a hit, then said, “Six months.”
“Six muthafuckin’ months, Evie?” Norie frowned as he snatched his blunt back from her. “I’ve seen you over a hundred times in the last six months. What the fuck excuse do?—”
