Chapter 7 #2

“First of all, Norie, don’t act like you're hurt. That’s number one,” She held up her index finger to make a point.

“Second, in the last six months you ain’t said shit more to me than a dry ass wassup until you bent me over the gotdamn sink that night.

Outside of that, you didn’t speak to me.

You were practically fucking other bitches in my face that you brought around whenever we all hung out, and you acted like sitting next to me was gonna give you the cooties wit’ ya childish acting ass.

So excuse me for not being so willing to share my personal business with you. ”

“A’ight,” Norie waved her off with a chuckle, then took another hit of the blunt before he ashed it.

“You right. But you know how I move and step behind you, Evie. Even when you piss me off, and I wanna wring ya gotdamn neck. And uh, maybe I shouldn’t have held the whole secret-keeping thing against you for so long, but you knew how much I wanted you.

That shit hurt me, though. A secret from my past just left me in a dark ass place that I still haven’t figured out how to climb out of yet.

But I guess I can admit that I shouldn’t have put my fucked up issues on you.

I think ‘cus I was so gone over you that I just lost it when the shit came out.”

“I can understand that, but you gotta remember to respect what other people have been through too, especially if they’re important to you. That’s where compromise and understanding come from. If it hurt you to find out that I’m seeing someone?—”

“Don’t get fucked up, Evie, you know that shit hurt. How I feel about you ain’t never changed.”

“Listen, quit lying?—”

“You know I ain’t never been no lying ass nigga, Evie. I still have feelings for you and still want you with everything in me. If you can’t tell that by the way I was fucking and making love to you each and every gotdamn time we fucked, I’on know what to tell you, sexy.”

Evie didn’t want to blush as she shifted her weight slightly, but she did. She loved when he let her see his vulnerability. “Maybe you should’ve just used your words and not used fucking as a means to express your emotions.”

“Yup, I’ll take that into consideration, Dr. Evie Hutton.”

“Listen, smartass,” she chuckled, “I wouldn’t be doing you justice if I didn’t tell you to get yo’ shit together. That’s all. Maybe even go talk to someone about whatever the fuck you got going on that you can’t get past.”

“Yeah, yeah, I’ll think about it. Anyway,” Norie eyed her up and down as he licked his lips. “Do ya nigga know that you’re constantly around a nigga who’s still in love wit’ you, can’t keep his lips off you or his dick outta you?”

“No.” Smiling, Evie shook her head at Norie’s lack of a filter. “I didn’t see any reason to make him aware of any of that when?—”

“Then I strongly suggest you go back in the house where it’s mildly safer for you than you being out here alone with me.

‘Cus between that fucking dress ya sexy ass got on, the fact that you don’t like to wear panties, and how I can literally smell your arousal mixed with that vanilla lavender scent you like to wear, you ‘bout to get fucked all over this gotdamn backyard. And assuming ya dude ain’t gon’ appreciate you coming home wit’ my nut dripping outta you, you need to move quickly. ”

“You should know by now that I’ve never been one to run from danger, so chilling out here with you a little while longer won’t hurt anything.”

“Yeah, a’ight, and you know me well enough to know that I mean exactly what I say.

You stepped out in that fucking mini dress looking good enough to suck, lick, and kiss all over, too.

Mannn, play wit’ me if you want to, Evie.

You gon’ fuck around and wake up pregnant.

If ya ass ain’t already knocked up. And if that's the case, you already know how shit is going down.”

“No, I don’t. Why don’t you enlighten me, Norie? Especially since the last time I checked, I was in control of my body and whatever decisions I want to make concerning it.”

Norie’s gaze landed on her before a smirk settled on his lips. As he rubbed his chin, he wondered if Evie would be able to handle just how insane he truly was when he came to the people he loved.

“So ya dude good wit‘ you doing this photo shoot shit wit’ me?” Norie asked; he figured that a change of subject was best so as to not keep down the road they were on.”

“He doesn’t know about the shoot?”

“Damn, that nigga don’t know shit, huh?” Norie’s brows shot up in surprise as his lips curved into a grin. “That shit sounds real suspect. You sure you and the nigga really together?”

Grinning, she nodded, then said, “We are, but I’m breaking up with him when he gets back in town.

We first dated six years ago, and some of the shit I had issues with then are still very much issues for me now, so I'd rather end things and jump back into the horrid dating pool once more before I just give up on dating altogether and become permanently single.”

“You ain’t gotta do all that, you can just get wit’ me, and we can enjoy the rest of our days as husband and wife.”

“Aht, let me stop you right there,” She held up her hand and shook her head at the same time.

“I wouldn’t marry you if you were the last man on earth, especially after the hell you put me through.

I’d be torn between causing you bodily harm and sitting on your dick every time I laid eyes on you.

And that shit would probably double if I was ever crazy enough to say I do.

Now, I don’t know what part of your brain allowed you to form that thought, let alone say the shit out loud, but?—”

Norie pulled Evie into his arms, kissed the rest of her words from her lips, and smiled after he finally pulled away from her.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, Norie pecked her lips again and said, “Quit talking shit. You’d marry me in a heartbeat, and you’d be a happy-ass wife for the rest of our lives.

But I know I fucked up, but I’mma get my shit together, apologize to you properly, and then we gon’ write us a new ending to the fairytale life I’mma give you.

So gon’ and give that nigga his walkin’ papers asap and then we can focus on us. ”

“Norie, please, you just focus on this calendar shoot this weekend, and I’ll think about considering all this talk you talking,” She explained before heading toward the house. “Sounds cute, though. “Sounds like you’re trying to come to your senses, but it just might be too late for all that.”

Norie smirked as he watched her disappear inside.

He couldn’t blame her for feeling the way she felt, for doubting him, but she had another thing coming if she thought it was too late for him to make her his.

Though he didn’t know why, this interaction felt different.

It felt like a warning, a final chance to claim what he’d always deemed as his.

So, he’d officially decided he was done struggling with his emotions and ready to make shit official between him and Evie.

Fifteen minutes after going over a plan he wanted to execute from here on out, Norie headed back inside and chilled with his family until dinner was ready.

A couple of times a month, Marshon and Kamryn hosted family dinners and always invited Evie and Norie over.

This was the first time in a little while that they’d both actually agreed to dinner together amicably.

For the next few hours, Norie enjoyed the company of his family and Evie.

He tried to keep his eyes off of her, but per usual, everything about her drew him in and made him want to fuck the shit out of her constantly.

So when they all finally called it a night a few hours later, and he walked her to her ride, he couldn’t resist pulling her in his arms and stealing a kiss.

“Fuck, I been wanting to do that shit to you all night. I almost pulled you into the bathroom, tongued ya ass down and filled you wit’ dick again.”

“Norie,” Evie smiled at his words as he opened the door to her ride for her.

“Just because we’re attempting to get along and be cordial to each other now doesn’t mean you get to take me down whenever you like.

You better practice keeping your hands to yourself because I’m positive that whatever man is lucky enough to get the opportunity to call me his lady is not gonna take too kindly to your advances. ”

“It’s legit crazy that you really think I’m ‘bout to let another nigga slide up in my spot. Into a spot that’s always belonged to me.” Norie clarified so there’d be no misunderstanding his claim over her.

Shaking her head, Evie chuckled and said, “Listen, I don’t know what?—”

“I just told you, you belong to me, Evie. You always have. Always will.” He leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips. “I’mma heal for me so I can be the nigga you need, and that’s that, baby. Now,” he kissed her on the neck. “Call me when you get to the crib.”

“Okay, but it’ll be a while. I’mma go home, get cleaned up, and have a drink or two. I’m not ready to call it a night yet. I may even go pull up to Tarp’s for a little bit.”

“In that case,” Norie flashed her a big, sexy-ass smile as he licked his lips. “You want some company?”

“If it’s you, of course. I’ll follow you because I don't feel like coming all the way back over here to get my ride.”

“Nah, come hop in my whip.” He opened her door, grabbed her hand, and led her to the passenger side of his ride. “I got you. I’ll bring you back to get ya car whenever you ready.”

“You sure, I’on wanna?—”

“I’m always positive about any and everything when it comes to you, Evie.”

Blushing, she slid into the passenger seat. “You make me so sick sometimes, but I swear that life is just so much more interesting with you in it. You are the kindest, meanest nigga I know.”

“Shit, I know. You lucky as fuck to have found a nigga like me.” He winked, then closed the door, rounded his vehicle, and climbed behind the wheel.
