Chapter 10

CHAPTER TEN

JAVEY

Sinclair didn't see me outside her house when she got back from work. Didn't see my car parked across the road, between a dark SUV and a car that looked like it should be towed to the wrecking yard.

My silver hatchback blended in like it belonged here. It didn't. Neither did I, or her… She belonged with me.

I watched her get out of her car as her friend, Wren, arrived. They hugged and disappeared inside.

I should leave, or knock on the door, but instead, I waited until Wren left. I put my hand on the door handle to open it when another SUV slid into the spot she just vacated.

Coast fucking Riggs and Phoenix fucking DiMarco. What were they doing here?

They both got out of the SUV and approached Sinclair's house like they belonged there. Coast knocked on the door.

She wouldn't answer it. If she did she'd tell him to piss off. I should do that. I should get out and tell them to get lost before she even got near the door.

She opened the door. She looked fucking gorgeous with her golden blonde hair pulled back at the sides, light makeup accentuating the blue of her eyes. She laughed something one of them said and actually closed the door behind her.

What the fuck?

She followed Coast to his SUV and got inside.

I shook my head. I was seeing things. She wasn't actually going out with either of them, was she? She couldn't be. She was mine. She had better taste in men than that. So I thought.

Both were excellent hockey players, but they were as arrogant as fuck. Coast acted like the sun shone out of his ass. Phoenix seemed to take his name too seriously, believing he was some kind of second coming.

I bet if I set him on fire, he wouldn't really come back to life afterward.

Fury burnt hot inside me. If they did anything to her…

I started the engine and pulled out a couple of cars behind Coast's SUV. Where were they taking her?

I followed at a distance until they pulled up outside Gianna's. They'd be there for a while. I circled around and found somewhere to stop to grab a sandwich and a cup of coffee.

I should go home, but I couldn't bring myself to leave, not while she was in there, with them.

I watched the entrance to the restaurant while I ate my sandwich, sipped my coffee and scrolled through social media.

I liked a couple of posts on the Demons' Instagram page, even though Coast and Phoenix were in the centre of most of the photographs.

I was on there too, always off to the side.

The shy, awkward guy who did his best to stay out of the spotlight.

I didn't have to try hard. Plenty of my teammates were happy to bask in it.

They took their roles as hockey gods too fucking seriously.

Their days were filled with hockey and glory, and their nights with puck bunnies.

They had no excuse not to leave Sinclair to me. They needed to know, she needed to know, she belonged to me. They needed to back the fuck off.

I tossed my phone aside as they walked out of the restaurant and got back into Coast's SUV. They were talking and laughing like they were all old friends.

Friends was fine. I'd allow Sinclair to have them as friends. Anything more than that…

I started the engine and followed them, once again keeping at a distance. I thought they'd return to Sinclair's house, but instead they stopped outside Phoenix's apartment building.

I was too late to stop them from going inside.

Shit.

The building would have a doorman. I wouldn't get past without them informing Phoenix I was there.

Shy and introverted or not, I was still a Dusk Bay Demon. A lot of the city recognised me on sight. I couldn't step foot inside without being noticed.

I slammed my hand down on my steering wheel. "Fuck."

I circled the block and found a parking space where I could see right into any of the apartments with open curtains or blinds.

Which one belonged to Phoenix?

It didn't take long before Coast walked past the window, coffee cups in hand.

A friendly cup of coffee, that was all right. She'd drink her coffee and they'd take her home. Or better yet, they'd step out of the building and I'd take her home from there.

Yes, that would work. She didn't need to be with them any longer than necessary.

I grabbed my phone again and resumed scrolling until movement in the window caught my eye.

The next thing to be caught was my breath, in my throat.

Sinclair was naked, Coast behind her.

I watched with rising fury as he slid inside her.

She closed her eyes, clearly enjoying the way he felt in her pussy. Her breasts swung back and forth as he thrust into her. She turned her face and said something I couldn't make out. A moment or two later, Phoenix stepped over and started to fuck her mouth.

I undid the front of my jeans and grabbed out my dick. I wrapped my fingers around my length and jerked hard, in near-perfect unison to the movement of Phoenix's hips.

It should be me pounding into her pussy or her mouth. She should be taking my cock into her wet heat. I should be the one giving her that expression of rising need. It should be me coming down her throat and letting her swallow my cum.

Above all, it should be me making her come. And come. And come. And come.

My breath was ragged, my balls tighter than iron. I couldn't hear anything, but I imagined Coast moaning as he came inside her body. She and Phoenix were next, quickly followed by me, spilling hot cum over my hand.

It took the edge off the pressure and my fury, but I still had to talk to her. She needed to know how I felt.

I'd tell her, but that would have to wait.

I wiped my hand on my jeans, started the engine and pulled away from the curb.
