Chapter Two.

Dynamo—a year later.

I kicked the punchbag, and it flew into Undertaker.

He caught it and took two steps back. Undertaker’s eyebrows rose, but I was in the zone. I went at the bag with sheer, cold fury, beating it until I could barely breathe. Stepping away, I wiped sweat from my brow and took the water bottle Undertaker offered.

“Girl, you’re in peak condition.”

“There’s always room for improvement.”

“Still working out with Romeo?”

“Yup.”

“And?” Undertaker pushed.

“Most traps Romeo places on my mind now, I can escape.”

“Heard that the prospects are shooting you with darts,” Undertaker said.

Unconcerned, my gaze met his. “And what? Got a problem?”

“Dynamo, they’re fuckin’ terrified of saying no. Plus they’re scared stupid you’ll get hurt.” “Already happened, Veep. Ain’t nobody locking my mind again,” I stated firmly.

Undertaker flinched. “Stop making them drug you.”

“Fuck no.”

“That’s an order,” he growled.

“Either they shoot me, or I do it alone.”

We never caught the guy who’d been behind my kidnapping, rape, and torture.

It had taken me three months to reach a place I could operate.

Had I recovered mentally and emotionally?

No. Physically, Slasher healed me within a week, and all scars and bruises had disappeared.

Yeah, I was restored to my pristine former self.

But my mind was scarred, damaged beyond repair.

Undertaker frowned. “Dynamo, we’ve not stopped looking.”

“Yup, I know. And we found Katie. But the fact Katie was kidnapped means someone is still out there pulling this shit in Maine.”

Undertaker couldn’t argue because I was right.

We were both aware of it. Vogue’s sister, Katie, had been taken for longer than me and wasn’t bouncing back.

She hid in her room and refused to interact with anyone.

The few times Katie had been surprised by a brother had resulted in a full-on meltdown.

“Dynamo…” Undertaker rubbed his chin and sighed.

“No fucker will imprison me again. ‘Taker, I can link with Romeo and Bogeyman in a second and defend myself until help arrives.”

“The club’s well aware of that from the bruises everyone’s sporting. And now you’ve taken this to the fights.”

“You get in the ring, you expect a beatdown.”

“But you near enough slaughter them,” Undertaker pointed out.

In a fury, I spun on him. “Is that an issue? Has there been a complaint?”

“No…”

“Then why this interference? What am I doing that’s so wrong?

Were you bent over a table and raped repeatedly?

Do you actually know how many times they raped and sodomised me?

No? I do. They experienced five rapes for every single one I suffered, and that’s still not enough.

They’re dead. Their suffering has eased.

Mine is fuckin’ constant, Undertaker. Until you’ve been raped over two hundred times, don’t come in here preaching. ”

Angrily, I slammed my gloves at him and stormed off.

He’d no idea. No one, except Katie and Romeo, did.

They might experience pain for me, but nobody had been helplessly trapped in their minds.

I’d had the power to save myself, and that had been stolen.

I don’t give a fuck what it cost; no fucker would ever do that to me again.

Maci

Worried, I eyed the man as he crossed the street when I did. He kept watching, and I guessed I was in trouble. I should have waited for Daddy, but I thought I was a big girl at eight.

Right now, I felt really small. The wheels on my wheelchair spun fast. I still used it, but the pain was going away for longer, and there were days I didn’t need it.

Scared, I moved across the road, and the man followed. Now I needed to choose. Did I cut through the park or head down the main road?

The stranger stepped in front of me and grinned. I didn’t like his smile. This was a mistake; it was getting dark, but Daddy hadn’t come. No other mommies had stayed. I don’t think they liked me much.

And worse, this weird man was following me.

I turned the knob, and my electric wheelchair rolled away and headed into the park. There were people there, so I should be safe. Someone grabbed my chair’s handles, and I screamed.

“Hey, your Daddy sent me to collect you.” The stranger grinned.

“Lie!” I yelled. There were some ladies nearby, but they were busy talking.

“Come on, kiddo, let’s take you somewhere safe. Daddy will want to know you’re okay,” he stated in a smarmy tone. Just like Katy Anderson before she attempted to get people into trouble.

“Let me go!” I screamed. Attention was what I needed. Mommy and Daddy had always said if someone tried to take me, scream and yell. “You’re not my dad!”

“Shut the fuck up, you little shit!” the guy snarled and got in my face. In fear, I pressed back against the chair.

“You’re not my dad. You’re not my dad!”

“What’s happening here?” a guy yelled, and I heard running feet.

The stranger who’d been threatening me leant forward. “Tell Warden, the Bloody Scorpions say hi.”

“Hey! Let her go!” the other person shouted.

The stranger licked my face and ran off. Instantly, I began sobbing as someone approached.

“Are you okay?” he asked, crouching down.

Crying, I shook my head, trying to find my phone. My tears got worse when I realised the battery was dead. Ham was always telling me to charge it.

“Daddy? What’s wrong with her?” a girl demanded, and I looked up to see a pretty girl my own age. Behind her stood another, a bit younger.

“She’s scared. Honey, I’m Mike Adams, and we need to take you home. Do you know where you live?” Mike inquired. I nodded as he pulled out some tissues, and I wiped my nose.

“These are my kids, Raven and Robin. Do you have someone’s phone number that I can call?”

I shook my head, my tears beginning to stop.

“Mr Adams, I want Mommy and Daddy,” I whispered, and Mike smiled kindly.

“Okay. Come on. I’ll take you home. Who’s your mom and dad, kid?” Mike said.

“Will you hurt me?” I demanded, wiping my nose.

“Hell no!” Mike looked offended, and he was telling the truth.

“You’ll take me straight home?”

“Yes, honey. We need to tell your parents exactly what happened. What’s your name?” Mike asked with a kind smile.

“Maci.” I liked Mike. He didn’t lie.

Mike pushed me over to an SUV, which was parked wonky, and I realised he’d seen what was happening and pulled over to help. That made me feel even better. Mike helped me in, and Raven and Robin both sat next to me.

“Do you go to school here?” Raven questioned.

“No, I have a tutor.”

“What’s that like?” Raven asked.

“Isn’t that lonely?” Robin demanded.

“Girls, hush a minute. Where are we going?” Mike interrupted.

“Um, I don’t know the name of the road,” I said, biting my lip. Mommy and Daddy had told me loads of times, but I forgot straight away.

“That’s a problem. Perhaps I should take you to the police station,” Mike suggested.

“Nope. We hate the cops,” I replied, and Mike looked puzzled. “If I can sit there, I can direct you.” I pointed to the passenger seat.

“Okay,” Mike agreed. Both Raven and Robin complained, but Mike got out and carried me around. Now, I felt like a big girl. I wasn’t usually allowed in the front, so this was a big deal.

“Continue straight down this road and at the lights go right,” I instructed Mike. He smiled and pulled out into traffic.

I directed Mike up to the main road that led to the compound, and Mike frowned. “Honey, are your Mommy and Daddy Royal Bastards?”

“Daddy’s called Soul.”

“Ah, shit,” Mike muttered. He pressed some buttons on the car’s touchscreen, and his phone began ringing. It rang out, and Mike growled and dialled someone else.

“Maybe I should have waited for Daddy, but I thought I was a big girl,” I said to Mike.

Mike nodded. “Maci, there are a lot of bad people in the world. Next time, stay where it’s safe,” he warned. I agreed. Mike was right. I wouldn’t try to be brave in the future.

Mike drove through the gates and headed toward the clubhouse. It was unusual to see so few bikes outside. He exited the car and walked around to get me out. Holding me, Mike turned around to enter when the doors flew open.

Dynamo stormed out and stopped. She stared for a few moments as the doors opened again. Priest barrelled into her and nearly knocked Dynamo over.

Anger crossed Dynamo’s face, and she tore me from Mike’s arms. Oh no, Dynamo was mad!

Dynamo

“Get Maci inside and call Soul and Warden,” I ground out. What the fuck was going on? Priest disappeared, and I lunged at Mike and held a knife to his throat.

“How much did they pay you, Mike?”

“What?” Mike gasped, going still.

“Soul’s going to kill you. What happened? You realised that taking Soul’s kid was a mistake?” I snarled.

Confusion flitted across Mike’s face.

“Dynamo, I’ve no idea—”

“Lie!” I snapped and pressed the blade deeper. A thin line of blood appeared, and Mike swallowed.

“Dynamo, I found…!” “Don’t hurt Daddy!” The scream came from behind, and I was so shocked that Mike was able to knock the knife away. Instantly, Mike plastered himself in front of the SUV.

“Daddy!” two girls screamed, and I paused. Had Mike brought his children to a kidnapping?

“You go through me to reach them,” he promised.

“Daddy, quick, get in the car. She’s crazy!” the first little girl shrieked as the second began sobbing.

I sheathed the knife quickly—traumatised kids weren’t on the agenda today.

“Dynamo, I found Maci in the park. A guy was trying to take her. I was driving by, saw what was happening, and stopped. The asshole ran off, and Maci’s cell was dead.

She didn’t know anyone’s phone number or her address, so I brought her here.

I tried calling you when I realised where we were heading.

You didn’t answer. Maci’s safe, and I’m taking my girls home. Don’t try to stop me,” Mike warned.

“You’re staying until Warden and Soul get back.”

“Not happening. Bitch, you’ve just scared the crap out of my babies. Fuck you.” Mike moved sideways as if he was going to get in his SUV, and I held him in place. He struggled, but I wouldn’t let go.
