Chapter Six. #2

“Yeah. You’re lucky it’s empty. We’ve got it for a month. There’s an attached garage which has the items I fetched. It’s alarmed up, and I’ve added some security, which you guys can boost. Laptops are in that room there; it’s a huge dining room and suitable for a sitrep room.”

Jude turned to Gage, his second in command. “Get the cars unloaded and then set about securing this place. Full works.”

“Sure thing, boss,” Gage replied and snatched an apple from the pile of fruit I’d put in a bowl. “Just need the apron, Mike.”

“Fuck you, asshole,” I retorted.

“Where’s my kids?”

“My girls,” I snapped, and Gage laughed.

“Gotta share those babies, Mike, they belong to all of us.”

“Gonna share yours?”

“Yup, you can have them while I go out and do manly work,” Gage taunted. Jude snorted as my fist shot out and Gage’s head rocked.

“Fucker,” Gage said, working his jaw as I grinned.

“Don’t push him,” Jude warned as he cocked his head for me to follow. We headed into the small room I thought would do as his office, although it needed organising to become one.

“You heard of trafficking in this area?” he asked.

I paused. Dynamo’s secrets were her own, but this was Jude asking.

“Up front and personal, no. Not heard of anyone going missing. But the local MC recovered two women.”

“An MC?” Jude’s eyebrow lifted.

“Yeah. They’re a mixed-gender one. Their road captain is female and was taken for two months. The Royal Bastards got her back, but then another woman linked to them was trafficked. They found her after she’d been held for six months.”

“I’ve no cop reports for this,” Jude said, frowning.

“It’s an MC, captain. They dealt with it internally,” I replied.

“They friendly?”

“No. They do a lot for the community and will defend their town, but they won’t sit down for a chitchat.”

“Afraid they’re going to have to. They have info we need,” Jude stated. “It’ll suck when we hack the fuckers.”

“They have Cipher.”

Jude drew a deep breath. “You broke in?”

Now I arrogantly lifted an eyebrow. Jude snorted in amusement again. “You got in. Cipher aware who hacked him?”

“Nope, and Cipher’s trying to track me. He’s improved a lot. But I can shut him down.”

“I bet he’s pissed. We need any info they have,” Jude said.

“I got everything they had, which amounts to shit. The Royal Bastards don’t put things on paper.”

“Showing your age, Mike,” Jude teased, and I nodded. He wasn’t wrong, but I was still the best in the world for now.

“Put together a file on all of them. I want the details, their deepest secrets,” Jude ordered. “Especially this road captain, what’s her name?”

“Dynamo.”

Jude tilted his head. Shit, I thought I’d kept my voice steady. “You’ve met her.” His eyes narrowed on me.

“Yeah,” I tried being nonchalant, but Jude’s focus was razor sharp.

“This Dynamo means something to you.”

“She’s someone who went through a horrific experience.”

“Don’t bullshit me, commander,” Jude snapped. “I know you, brother. She captured your attention.”

I ground my teeth and nodded. “There’s something about her that attracts me.”

“She aware of what you are?”

“Cipher ran a deep check on me. Navy protection is crap. He got my records and knows I was SEAL Team Six. Cipher didn’t get my redacted shit as I locked that away, but he had a decent try. I’d say it’s a damn good guess that she’s been told,” I admitted.

“They won’t be too surprised when we walk into their compound then, will they?” Jude said with a grin. Jude was planning mischief, and I sighed.

Dynamo

I was sitting at the bar Friday night, shooting the shit with Vogue when one of the club whores strutted past. Most of the members were here, including the old ladies and the club whores.

Maiden sent me daggers and headed for Priest, who was serving. There was a smug aura about her.

“Hey Priest,” she said in a sultry voice. I was amused when Priest barely looked at her.

“What ya drinking?” he demanded, wiping the bar down.

Maiden ran a finger down his arm, and Priest snatched it away. “Don’t touch.”

“Aw, come on, Priest. Don’t be like that; I wanna be friendly.”

“Yeah, I don’t. Get lost,” Priest warned.

I saw stubbornness set on Maiden’s face.

“The prospect told you to back the fuck off. Do it now!” I ordered.

Vogue stiffened next to me.

Maiden hesitated, and that’s all it took. I was up off my stool and grabbing a handful of her hair, and I smashed her head into the counter. Priest jumped backwards, hands in the air as I hauled Maiden up to snarl in her face.

“Someone says fuck off, fuck off,”

“Okay, sorry!” Maiden wailed.

I rapped her one more time and let go, deliberately showing my back and retook my stool. She was no threat to me, and I meant to show it.

“Dynamo,” Vogue murmured, and I twisted in my seat to see the three men who’d walked in. There was no mistaking they were military. My heart kicked a little as I took in Mike standing behind a man. He wore a black tee that showed his muscles perfectly and black combat pants.

I glanced over at Warden, who had Undertaker moving Lindy and Iona out with Bryony.

“Wouldn’t think this is your kind of place,” Warden said, approaching.

“Funny how people say that about us; we’re party animals,” the man in front quipped. It was obvious Mike and the second stranger were his guards.

“Bet they say a lot of stuff. Captain Jude Allard, isn’t it? Former Captain of SEAL Team Six and now owner and commander of AlCorp International?” Warden asked.

“You’d know, as you had Cipher hack Mike. Didn’t get that redacted shit though,” Jude replied with a grin.

“And like you didn’t return the favour.” Warden smiled. He was completely at ease. It didn’t matter what leg-up Jude thought he might have; this was our power base and our home. He couldn’t beat us.

“I’m sure this isn’t a social visit,” Undertaker said, taking Warden’s back.

“Nah. But you’ve information I need,” Jude replied, and Warden allowed his surprise to show.

“I do?” he asked, eyes narrowed.

“Yes. There’s people trafficking in this area, we’re here to deal with it,” Jude stated and dropped the bomb.

I stiffened on my stool as Mike’s gaze flicked to me and then away again. Son of a bitch! He’d told his captain. That fuckin’ cum stain.

My temper rose, and I bit down on it. Mike’s eyes held no apology.

“No clue what you’re on about,” Warden growled out. That was a warning.

Jude smiled grimly. “Then, sonny-jim, you’ve got your head up your ass considering two of your own were taken.”

I lost control and exploded.
