Dynamo

“Mike’s your anchor?” Dare asked.

“Yes, I didn’t realise because I was so tense all the time. Mike steadies my ability.”

“There’s gotta be one for everyone, right?” Dare inquired, and I held her eyes.

“Yup, there is. Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I just keep seeing numbers and stuff lately. I could do with a bit of a break,” she admitted.

“Romeo—”

“Romeo could block my mind, but sooner or later it would all come rushing back. It’s fine, I’ll manage.” Dare brushed my concerns aside. “How’s Mike in bed?”

I choked at her bold statement and laughed. “I don’t know. We haven’t got that far. I’m still dealing with shit, and there’s so many triggers. We’re managing, and it’s hot, and we’re going very slowly. Getting used to a man touching me is scary, but we can hold hands now.”

“That’s great!” Dare exclaimed.

“Slow but sure. We’re building a house on RBMC land. After shocking the shit out of ACI with how easily we took out Rainbow, Mike wants club protection for the girls,” I said.

“How do you feel about that?”

“Okay, as I can’t see myself getting pregnant soon. Hell, Mike stands one side of the room and me the other while we whack off together,” I muttered with a laugh.

“TMI Dynamo.” Dare laughed.

“True, though.”

“You’ll get there one day,” she assured me.

“Maybe. But we’re managing. I never thought I’d fall in love, and certainly not with someone like Mike. His kids may be the only children I have, so I want to make the most of this.”

Dare and I entered church and stopped at the look on Warden’s face.

“What happened?” I demanded.

“Sit down. Church is in session.” Warden slammed the gavel down. “We’ve got a big problem.
